Urgent - G7-L11 Lollipop custom recovery

I've G7-L11 Running Lollipop 5.1.1 - And its root is hell to me.
No recovery img in google works.. cuz latest twrp 2.8.7 and CWM are made for L01 and L00 NOT L11, thus my firmware kernal rejects the recovery and i got this message when trying to flash or directly boot the recovery img (Failed adb not found)
all fastboot boot twrp.img or fastboot flash recovery twrp.img or any command concerned or related to that issue doesnt work at all.
so please could any one find or build custom recovery for that model G7-L11 Lollipop?
Can any one who has G7-L11 or who is expert help me to get a working recovery?
am sorry brother you had to go through this, i went thru this, but i think i might have found a fix,. there is no custom recovery that works with huawei G7-L11 lollipop, what you need to do is first download the firmware for your phone, the lollipop firmware in order to extract the recovery file, that "UPADATE.APP" file, then download huawei firmaware extractor from
here "http://fs1.d-h.st/download/00173/wwfQ/HuaweiUpdateExtractor_0.9.9.3.zip"
then extract the files, (if you get stack on how to use it, there are videos on youtube to use it), (Extract Zip with any exctractor then, extract UPDATE.APP with huawei file extractor
Then u need a ADB files, i found using CMD directly very confusing, so download this "https://mega.nz/#!eVx3DKyC!9iI9QwvqTXJtqmfGEExC3S2XMfxWewNezQZWy_7gUz0" its a philwood touch file but it has the necessary files we need, what we are trying to do here is to restore the phone original recovery and flash the update from the exSD Card,.
After you have download the Philwood Touch file(this is a normal zip file) extract the files and inside you will find the recovery img file, just replace this with the one you extracted from UPDATE.APP. so that the philzwood folder will have the original recovery which comes with the update and the one that is usually found in the phone,
Then put your phone in the Fastboot and recovery by holding volume down and power button together, then from the Philzwood recovery first run"adb-windows" then "Fastboot windows" then "Install windows, after you have done this you will have your recovery(Orignal Recovery),
Turn off your phone, Then take the UPDATE.APP transfer the file to ExSD Card(External Memory Card) put it in a phone ( Copy the whole dload file), Now hold both Volume up and down and power button until your phone boot up dnt let go until you see a phone installing from SDCARD Just sit back relax after its done your phone will as good as new, i hope u get this right,.
If the download link for Philzwood doesnt work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHe68zH4jgA there are link down at the description
Or search this in google "PHILZ-TOUCH-6.59-G7-buid-21-02-2015"
Deal All
I have G7 -L11 of Huawei ascend, it's front class broken but working. Can anyone help me to find out the same. In Delhi service center it is not available.

How to flash Zenfone 5 by using Odin

I have an Asus zenfone 5 which was bricked and for some reason sideloading from the adb stopped after installing 54% of the firmware so I decided to go for cynogenmod, which was sucessfully flashed. I now want the old stock android back and dont know what to do. If i use ADB again after 54% it will just stop and I tried using TWRP too but it said wrong version and all.
I want to know if i can use ODin to flash my device and if yes then how?. Also in odin im required of an md5 file which i dont know where to get. I have a lollipop firmware and please tell if i need more than that or not.
ODIN is only for Samsung phones.

Thanks for the info. I haven't checked it how it will go but at the end I still have to sideload my lollipop update right. That it the problem here since adb always stops at as I reach 54% of the installation. Is there any other way to update to lollipop and the end when your guide finishes?
And thank you for replying

Yes. Just download 3.23.40.60 firmware, extract recovery.img from the firmware .zip, boot to Droidboot, flash the recovery.img, reboot to recovery, then sideload the firmware. That's it.
i have the same problem in a501 cg

I had the same issues but I resolved it
U must have the latest adb tools
U must have recovery image of .52 not .60 (lollipop )
.60 firmware ,
First flash the fastboot from .60 firmware ( It will be droidboot)
Then flash the recovery (.52 recovery )
Reboot into recovery then sideload the .60 firmware ( in case the sideload fails try to relock bootloader then sideload the firmware .)
After that u can manually update to .78 and .87 fimwares respectively . @zaris47 try this as I mentioned and plz google for the files .
i was using .78 and now can't get back to droidboot of .78 (lollipop)

Try flashing RAW firmware....its the easiest and safest way to do...
Somewhere around the threads, there is a windows cmd prompt based script created by dgadelha(or tank0412, i forgot ?) which allows u to flash the rom in just a single click......try to search it...I'll post the link if i got that post...
Also, note that RAW fw for A500CG also works for A501CG,but only via this script ,not Asus flash tool apllication(only works for a500cg)...
thanks for the advice, lokking forward for your next post

There is no RAW fw specifically for a501cg and aft doesnt work with a501cg...
however , raw firmware for a500cg works for a501cg too.....use this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65367132&postcount=2

some changes to be made hin the guide:-
Extract the contents too from the raw file to the same folder and also keep the raw file with it...
try running the command file "NOT" as administrator...
hope it helps
Sorry for the late reply, so i did ask all of you suggested and im stuck at dgadelha.

[GUIDE Step-byStep]RETURN2STOCK/UNBRICK/UNLOCK/ROOT] e.g. STUCK AFTER UPDATE

How to unbrick or get back stock on your Huawei Mate 8. There are many reasons why you would want to do that.
In my case my device (AL10) was stuck at "your device cannot be trusted" after updating from B180 to B321.
First I got to thank acer73 for his software. ajsmsg78 and Kris Chen for their links to the right ROMs.
Also thanks to DarkSilentSC for his help, especially with the L29, great support.
He has a L29, which I don't have, so I'm glad he provides help with that device.
This worked for me on my AL10 to get it back on track, should work on other models too. Just have to find the right ROMSs as according to your model. However, I am not responsible if this does not work for you or if it bricks your phone even more.
And remember: don't forget turning on usb debugging whenever you can!
Unbrick (return to Stock)
1. Find yourself a stock ROM.zip according to your model and extract from the zip the update.app (I used one from a B172 (AL10) Stock ROM, I was running a B180 custom ROM, it worked.)
2. Download the Huawei Update Extractor http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454
3. Extract boot.img, recovery.img, system.img and cust.img with the HuaweiUpateExtractor from the Update.App you find in the ROM to somewhere where you can find them easily
4. Head over to http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/development/rayglobe-italian-knife-t3295526 (You can also do it with fastboot commands, but Acer73's tool makes it easier)
5. get yourself the Italian Knife (btw you probably have to turn off your anti-virus program), extract it in a directory on your PC and start Rayglobe_knife.exe
6. Put the images you have extracted into the folder Unbrick (same directory where you extracted Rayglobe Knife in). The folder was created after you started Rayglobe_Knife.exe
7. Boot your phone into bootloader.
8. In the Rayglobe Knife tool choose Unbrick and choose the option where it says you have placed all the images in the unbrick folder.
9. let the magic work. The phone will restart and it will probably take 15 minutes, make sure its charged enough.
After all that I quickly updated to the latest Stock ROM version, in my case B321, which you need to do if you want to flash later a custom B321. See second post if you want to do that as well or continue with unlocking the bootloader.
Now lets get the bootloader unlocked (for some reason mine was still unlocked)
1. Get Minimal ADB https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24521665358595410
2. Hopefully you still have your unlock code (cause you need it otherwise it won't work)
3. Put your phone in Bootloader Mode (Press & hold power and volume down)
4. Extract Minimal ADB zip and run command.bat
5. Type <fastboot oem unlock xxxxxxxxxxxxx> (where xxxx is your bootloader unlock code)
6. Done
Now lets get twrp set up
1. For that we need minimal ADB again
2. Headover to http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/development/recovery-twrp-huawei-mate-8-t3298567
3. Download TWRP according to your EMUI (For B321 it's EMUI 4.1)
4. Place the image in the directory of the Minimal ADB
5. Rename it to just twrp.img (not necessary but simplifies things)
6. Put your phone in Bootloader Mode (Press & hold power and volume down)
7. Run command.bat
8. Type <fastboot flash recovery twrp.img>
9. Then type fastboot reboot
10. Now you can hold volume up and power until your phone boots into TWRP
11. You need to format data (you'll lose everything on your phone)
12. Done
Remember: don't forget turning on usb debugging whenever you can!
!!!FOR L29 scroll down to DarkSilentSC's instructions!!!
After unbricking I quickly updated my AL10 to the latest version, in this case B321. Should work with all B3xx
1. Head over to Kris Chen's thread (this I used for the AL10)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/development/rom-verison-t3324164
Or ajsmsg78's (also AL10 and L09)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66776194&postcount=58 to get the Stock B321
2. Download the ROM and after downloading the zip file, extract update.app from it. Copy the UPDATE.APP to the internal memory of your HM8 in a folder called - dload (you may have to create it). Then press [volume+]+
[volume-]+[power] together to force the update.
3. Voila B321
-----------
!!![For the L29 you should try DarkSilentSC's instructions, which you find below or in post #54 on page 6 http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/unbrick-updating-to-b321-t3375934/page6 don't forget to hit thanks!!!
1. Start from stock B170 firmware with TWRP ready
2. Extract BOOT, CUST, RECOVERY, SYSTEM from B321 UPDATE.APP
3. Add firmware .zip file (which contains META-INF folder and UPDATE.APP) and place it into internal storage
4. Make sure internal storage data is fully backed up
5. Delete All Accounts in Settings
6. Go to Recovery, Wipe Cache, Delvik Cache, Data, System
7. Flash that .zip file! (Getting errors is okay at this time) [This is what I didn't do before!]
8. Boot straight to bootloader
9. fastboot flash boot, cust, and system
10. let it boot. Let it proceed with encryption process in chinese and fully boot into EMUI
11. NOW I'M AT EMUI 4.1!
12. Reboot to fastboot and fastboot flash insecure_boot and flash TWRP
13. Reboot to recovery (TWRP) and then flash whatever rom you want to place in!
14. Enjoying it!
Great, was looking for details instructions like that, was stuck at cannot be trusted screen

So I unbricked with B170 and then tried force flashing B321. My first attempt at flashing B321 ended up getting stuck at 5%. Tried flashing again and it said it was incompatible with the current firmware version of my phone. Any ideas on what I should do next?
Edit: Nevermind. I mistakenly copied the UPDATE.APP from B170 to the dload folder instead of the one from B321. lol
Now on B321. Thanks!

Don't know which ROM you used to unbrick.
But seems that you used an B321 if that worked for you and you have no problems then that is great.
Could mean that wet can unbrick straight with the most current ROM available. If someone else could confirm?

Bootloader has to be unlocked. You can unlock best with DC unlocker, it's fast and only costs around 5 dollars.
Unless you already have your unlock code then you can unlock following instructions see my first post

This phone was sold in a few countries, and one of them I know about was Thailand. If you look up the corresponding official ZTE support page, you get this:

They might not be full ROMs, but should they really help, it would be recommended to directly host them somewhere else too, in case they are removed.
ZTE ROMs are a hard task to hunt down, if this does not help I strongly recommend to dig deeper down into their support page...
Dear Member,
i too faced problem in LYF LS-5021 looks same ZTE S7-T920. i found incomplete rom from internet, which failed in flash & came to dead. Later i found update.zip for LYF in that i found that is same as S7.
I edited rawprogram.xml to file given to download & flashed. After flash phone came alive & updated with update.zip.
Now phone came to normal.
May be it will help for u.... attached updater script of Lyf LS-5021.
Inside the zip's from the ZTE -homepage u gonna find the update.zip file .... which perfectly works for the S7.
So ... is the LYF LS-5021 exactly the same phone as the S7 ... any differences?
New ROMs available?
I would also like to know if there are any updates available for the Blade S7 (other than Lolipop 5.1). I managed to download the update.zip from the ztedevice . com website and followed the instruction and was able to update using the Blade S7 ROM but only Lolipop 5.1 is available. Can anyone confirm if LYF LS-5021 ROM can be used on the S7 and what ROM's are available?

The real question is if there is anything official above 5.1 available for the Lyf. Needrom seems to host official 6.0, but it would be nice to confirm that with Lyf support. IDK if they would answer, but you might as well should try your luck with the ZTE ROM compatibility (tough they most likely will not take any responsibility and not advise you to try flashing their ROM). Their support page is here:
https://www.mylyf.com/self-help.html
Also Lyf LS-5021 may be the Lyf Earth?

It is the Lyf Earth 2 (or second gen earth). Just checked Needrom and cannot find any rom for Blade S7 . I will check Needrom for official Lyf 6.0. But thanks for the feedback.

I also have a ZTE blade S7 and I know the suffer of finding this phone's firmware... But I am still a Standard android customizer so yeah after searching the web... No firmware found for this phone... So here's what I've done to make a backup..
I rooted my phone using kingoroot via PC
-steps-
-download the kingoroot application on pc
-install the application on pc.
#on the phone#
- battery charged to 100% because of fear the process will fail because of the battery
-enabled unknown sources in
*settings/security/unknown sources*
-enabled developer options
*settings/about phone/Build number(just keep spamming the build number till it says developer mode enabled)
- go back to settings and enable usb debuging
*settings/developer options/usb debuging(tick the box)
-then connect phone to pc then a small box will show up on the phone
tick allow this pc bla~ bla~ and
press ok or accept
#on the pc#
-open kingoroot application
-wait for the application to load
-then press root device
-if the phone shows something that needs to install ,just press install
-Then the phone will automatically change to a blue screen with percentage numbers on screen.
Wait for 10-20 min
-Then on the phone will show up root success with a giant blue tick
-uninstall all the cleaner or battery saver that is installed by kingoroot...
-then reboot phone...
Now find TWRP recovery from xda somewhere for the zte blade s7

- after the download, there will be a file called recovery.img
- open flashify and slide to backup/restore
-backup the current recovery
-after backup slide back to Flash and pick Recovery Image
-pick choose a file and find the recovery.img that we downloaded earlier
And flash
-After flashing is done press flash more and it will leave you on the flash menu...
-press the three dot on the top right or left side (mine is right side)
-choose reboot recovery...
And now twrp will show up...
On first boot to twrp it will ask for allowing to modify the system...
Just swipe the blue circle
And now choose backup
For me, I check all the box to backup everything but the nesesary one is just boot and system...
And wallaahh backup done...
For my recommendation ,backup the file to a memory card and put it in a safe place just for safety.. Because you wont know maybe you'll accidentally deleted the file while formatting...
And that's it... Well done...
Anyone can help?

I have a way but u need brains to do the following...
-To flash a custom recovery to the phone via sp flash tool or adb
The reason is because I have a backup rom of my zte t920 but it needs a custom recovery to reflash

Ok I will upload my backup rom to google drive and link will be sent on completion
I dont think sp flash tool can help on this... Becuase it needs the actual firmware scatter loading file... Which in this case... I dont have... :crying: still finding a way to create the scatter file myself.. No luck..
So.. Adb should be the hero here... But only if u hv usb debuging enabled before
Using a pc or laptop install adb to your pc/laptop from anywhere in xda...
The fastest and easiest is on this thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
And download the twrp recovery image. From this thread
#the recovey is named recovery.img#
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/tutorial-how-to-install-twrp-zte-blade-t2953998
*1* Download and install the adb on ur pc and put the custom recovery in any folder #inside an empty folder with the recovery is the best choice#
*2* After installing the adb.. Go inside the folder that contains the recovery.img...
*3* #without highlighting any file# put ur mouse pointer at any empty space in the folder , HOLD SHIFT AND RIGHT CLICK ON YOUR MOUSE. And there will be an extra option that says Open Command Prompt here or Open Power Shell here
*4* Try to boot up ur device as far as it can go in this case the zte logo and and on the pc inside the command prompt from *3* and type in adb devices and press enter.. If it shows a reading. Example, F2xhk7 device ur in luck... Go to *5*
.. But if it shows red notes.. . Try changing usb ports and usb cable #in my case before... The computer usb 3.0 port does not read my device.. *the usb port coloured blue*.. so I use other ports and it worked# :fingers-crossed:
If it still does not connect.. Then ur out of luck... The only way is through sp flash tool... Try asking one of the developers to help...
*5* congratulations if u made it here.. now back on business...
-Type in adb reboot fastboot and the device will restart to fastboot
-Now type in fastboot flash recovery recovery.img note *the recovery.img must be the duplicate as the name of the recovery* * I repeat the command is. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img the word recovery is meant to be there *
- after the flash ,reboot the device into recovery by typing.
fastboot reboot recovery or either combimation of power and volume up button
If the recovery shows twrp.. Ur in luck then..
Jo_bell, you sir, are the man!:good: ....i will await your Google drive link. Would generating a scatter file require an actual working ZTE blade S7 to do? Or cant it be generated using a tool of some sort?

I don't see this will help though. The phone wont boot up, so I cant put the phone in recovery mode or download mode.
So I cant flash TWRP or even do SD card upgrade with it. If there's anything in that firmware from the link you left above that
can help boot up the phone again, please by all means point it out.
I really appreciate it thanks
how do i update to custom roms

Back to Official Firmware - Huawei P Smart

I downloaded a rom from androidhost.ru thinking it was an official rom. My aim was downgrading. But it's not an official rom, i guess. And either I can't get back to official rom. Please help. The Huawei technical support told me that the device could be out of guarentee.
Try installing Hi Suite and do a recovery from there

Thank you. I tried Hi Suite. Hi Suite says the firmware is updated.
There is no huawei identity part and there is no update information, the firmware seems updated.
I downloaded 155 version but i can't update. About phone section --> software number seems 8.0.0.0.46(0JVO).
I can downgrade or upgrade using androidhost.ru files but the other files (app or update.zip) don't work.
Eset Nod32 says the phone is rooted, root checker says the phone is not rooted.
Well try forcing your phone to install the official Rom... Try to boot into a download mode and flash through there
I download full ota zip and L11_hw_eu files from different sites. I turn off the device. I push the volume down and volume up and power button (force) the software installation fails.
Search XDA universal search for hurupdater ..
Get firmware finder from playstore ..download correct stock rom
Follow hurupdater instructions to update in recovery
Firmware finder doesn't find firmware for p smart.
Hurupdater needs unlocked bootloader i guess.

I have a huawei p smart and firmware finder & hurupdater is working ..but yes ..you need an unlocked bootloader ..
In that case
Download stock rom with firmware finder and put on sd
download stock recovery from p smart forum and flash with fastboot ..boot into stock recovery and use stock recovery to restore ...
And on a seperate note , I recommend downloading dc unlocker application and downgrading and unlocking bootloader using dc unlocker ..just search in XDA universal search ....it's a working method ..
Here you can see it :good:

No , you can flash only *signed files ...big difference ..you can ALWAYS flash files signed by huawei like stock recovery
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dFFjCG2xeg9E08SZFA7jC9y21iX1sJgD/view
_there is stock recovery in link
_put in fastboot folder
_rename to recovery.img
_inside settings of phone enable usb debugging ..connect to pc ..in pop-up window allow debug connection (tick always allow )
_open cmd window as admin in fastboot folder
_Run the following commands
adb devices
*should show a serial number
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices
*should show a serial number
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk recovery.img
fastboot reboot

thank you. but failed command not allowed?
Does your phone have the OEM UNLOCK option enabled in the developer settings / is the FRP setting disabled. Having an unlocked bootloader simplifies things a lot. I had a similar issue and used the PC version of the huawei firmware finder by TEAM MT and had to use the DNS method (either do via router or set the pc as a hotspot to reflash a lower version of firmware
I took the telephone to a shop for firmware repair. He tried for a couple of days and he also couldn’t get back to official software.

Hi, Candask
I see you are having problems getting back to official software for the Huawei P smart
Knowing that it says System 8.0.0.046 means you are running Huawei Firmware but System 8.0.0.046 usually means the firmware was made for a different model
How this works is the version folder ( partition ) includes information on the device model and if that version folder does not include the files for your region or model, it will display as System 8.0.0.046, not a serious issue but it is fixable
If you could get in contact with me on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/livitechdev
and also provide us with the Huawei P smart model number ( at the bottom of the phone on the back it will say Model: FIG-XXX, mine says FIG-LX1 )
And we will see if we can help you out - Thanks Ryan
8.0.0 is just the software version, what i think you need to match is for example mine is C782
example if you search you had found the following FIG-LX1C09B139 is device/model , and (8.0.0.139) is software version, id reckon aslong as you match the device and get the latest software version it would work

@candask - this User is on the right track,
He would be able to get the software version of he already knows his phones model number C782, C472, C106, etc
The only place I believe you can find your model number inside Android is on the build number inside of settings>System>About Phone
8.0.0.137 ( C782 ) is the usual format
8.0.0 being Android version
137 being Huawei's version
( C782 ) being model number of device
the build number Candask has says
System 8.0.0.046( 0VJO )
Which does not give Indication of what model phone he has
Have you tried using E-recovery?

hi livi-tech
I think what he is experiencing is when he has flashed a custom rom on his phone its changed the rom version name i believe, so even in e-recovery and fastboot it is being read as an unsupported device. il attach a picture to try and show
E-Recovery and attempting to use hisuite will work up until it checks his imei and device / software info then it is unable to proceed

Hello @friartuckme
I haven't had any issues with E-recovery and fastboot in the past no matter what my build number was or what custom ROM was flashed, not sure about HiSuite as I don't have a use for it but I had a look to confirm, even with the build number being different E-recovery still works and fastboot
This is my current setup
Build number: LiviTech (EM Pixel)
EMUI version: 8.0.0
E-recovery picks up: 8.0.0.137(C782) and starts downloading package
This was my setup when looking into compatibility issues a few months ago
Build number: System 8.0.0.046( 0VJO )
EMUI version: 8.0.0
E-recovery picks up: 8.0.0.137(C782) and starts downloading package
Deleting the whole version partition results in
Build number: System 8.0.0.046( OVJO )
EMUI version: 8.0.0
E-recovery picks up: 8.0.0.137(C782) and starts downloading package
( Would not recommend deleting version partition or modifying it unless you want phone to reset or apps to get removed, it's a Huawei issue )
I think I know what the issue his, the firmware he flashed sounds like Huawei firmware ( or a version of it ) but it sounds like the version partition included with that firmware doesn't include the files for his model.
