Is a PC required to root Samsung Galaxy Sky SM-S320VL? - Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) Questions & Answers

So I just got this phone after my old phone (which couldn't be rooted at all) got dropped too many times, and I'm eager to see if this can be rooted. I did see a guide here, but I'm wondering if it's possible to do it on the phone itself as I don't have access to a PC where I can download files required for rooting.

[Q] Samasung Galaxy S4 SGH-S970G Help Plz!!!!

Ok, so first off I rooted my previous phone (a Verizon Motorola Droid X2) without any problems ever. I dropped Verizon as my carrier and switched to Straight Talk and I bought the Samsung Galaxy S4, after a few months of having it I decided to look for a way to root it. After a few days of browsing and reading about I found and root option that worked. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758) This saferoot worked and i had superuser and was able to do everything i wanted to.
I then went on the Google play store and installed apps that I previously had on my old device for rooted phones. Well I installed chainfire3D and opened it up and clicked install the drives (which then requires a reboot) after a sort time I noticed my phone was stuck on the loading screen and I can't get past it.
I then start looking for a unroot/unbrick option in order to restore my phone to default firmware and factory settings to get it to work again.
Now here is the dilemma...
Like it says in the title, the phone model is SGH-S970G and for the life of me I can't find this model's firmware anywhere.
plz help me asap!!!!
Thank you in advance for any useful information to help point me in the right direction or give me a solution!

If you get your phone fixed, I suggest you skip reinstalling Chainfire 3D. It specifically says it's not for Jelly Bean devices.

[Q] Rooting/Unrooting problems

Ok, so ages ago I fooled around with my GT-I9506 S4 and rooted it.
Then I 'unrooted' it or so I thought.
I went to install a tap and go bank payment app on my phone and it refused to install saying my device was rooted.
I ran Root Checker and it said my phone was not rooted.
I went in to system settings and hit update and it refused, saying 'your device has been modified'.
So I have several questions,
1. How do I well and truly unroot my phone?
I'm downloading a stock firmware from Sammobile, should I just use Odin and do a complete reinstall?
2. Or instead, I see Xposed http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer seemingly can help you defeat root detection when installing handy apps.
Thing is I've tried connecting my S4 to my Win 7 PC which has the lastest Samsung usb drivers installed but it won't detect so I can't transfer APKs.
Grrrrrr. Oh, and Kies doesn't work either. ****ing Samsung, I can't believe how badly supported their phones are.
Both options would work.

Need help rooting my Samsung A3

Hello, I hope this is the right place to ask for help when trying to root your phone.
First of all, here's some data about my Phone:
Model-number: SM-A300FU
Android-Version: 5.0.2
Kernel-Version: 3.10.49-6027881 [email protected] #1
Build-number: LRX22G.A300FUXXS1BPE1
Knox-Version: Knox 2.4
Tbh, I've never rooted a phone before, so there might be a few things I've overseen.
Until now I just tried to root via kingoroot (Can't post the link because I'm a new user) on windows (Laptop) since I'm somehow not able to install the apk on my phone (yes I did allow download from outside of the playstore, although only for this one installation). I didn't do anything else but allow usb-debugging and klick on the "root"-button on the software.
The rooting process then seems to continue kinda well, until it reaches 99%, where I have to klick on a Showing Messagebox which says that my phone will now get flashed with Odin3 Software. After I pressed "OK" my phone then goes into download-mode. As I tried it, it stayed there like for almost an hour until I chose to cancel it. Kingoroot then tells me that the rooting process failed, but everything else seems fine, so luckily my phone didn't got bricked.
My question now is, how do am I able to root my phone now? Should I just give it even more time in the download-mode, do I need to unlock the bootloader first (don't know if it's already unlocked tbh) or shall I install the Odin3 software on my laptop and try to flash without kingoroot? (Don't know if kingoroot contains Odin3, but until now I didn't install it myself)
Thanks already in forward to anyone willing to help me.

Semi un/rooted S8 - GM950F with custom rom?

Okaay so I've been rooting my phones for a few years now, back to the Sony Ericsson phones soo I do have a tiny bit of experience when it comes to rooting but my memory is kinda weak haha...
I rooted my galaxy S8 like a year ago and had no problems What so ever...until I started messing I was messing around with Snapchat and realised I couldn't log back in due to the root checks and the only way I could get back in was unrooting however I am now bored of an unrooted phone and want my freedom back ?
I installed a custom rom while rooted and came with some apps etc such as 'mTweaks' which no longer works because I don't have root...I also have problems assessing some apps such as games because a "hack is detected"
I would like to have root back but I'm currently moving homes and don't have access to a pc for now, is there a way to do it via phone ?
Also is my phone still semi rooted as some apps seem to detect a modified device...
Thanks for taking your this time read this ?
if the thread isn't clear enough then here are the main concerns:
-Can I root without needing a PC
-Why do apps detect a modified device if I don't have root
-Why do I still have access to a custom Rom and kernel?
Thanks alot! ?

Do I need to root my S8 in order to flash an updated stock ROM?

I am very new to all of this, so I am sorry if I'm ignorant about it, and honestly I don´t even have any interest in rooting my device (SM-G950FD), but when I check for new updates, it says the cellphone is already updated to the latest version (Is not, it is currently on 8.0).
I recently bought this phone to a friend and he claims to have never rooted the device, nevertheless, some things point to it being rooted. When I try to use the Samsung Pass App, a text pops up and says "You can't use the app because you rooted your cellphone." Besides this, I can't update the phone or sync my google photos pictures. I installed a root checker app, and it says "Sorry! Root acces is not properly installed on this device."
I was planning on followint the steps of a youtube video from HighOnAndroid called "How to Unroot Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus w/ Stock Firmware!" But I am afraid I can brick my phone if it's not already rooted. So I don´t know if I should just follow those steps, or first root my device (Even if I don´t know if it´s rooted yet) and then fo what the video says.
Thanks!

1. No you don't need to root to upgrade your phone.
2. You can check in download mode to see if you phone has been modified / rooted. Should have a line saying something like Warranty Void. 0 means phone not modify, 1 means phone is modified.
https://android.gadgethacks.com/how...-s8-into-recovery-mode-download-mode-0177223/
3. You can download firmware from sammobil.com or updato.com ( there are other site as well ). But download speed are slow. You also use PC app like samfirm or frija to download latest firmware.
