No, but you can rollback to 10j which can be rooted.

I believe as long as you u have twrp recovery you can root via flashing root in recovery. Has anyone tried it with 10k

Once i get my hands on a laptop or pc I'm gonna try it with 10k...theres a way to unbrick the v20 correct?

That link is the way to unbrick, too. Don't flash 10k. Flash 10j, unlock bootloader and root, then flash 10k using TWRP.

10-4 ....still waiting to get my hands on a pc to do so...was all so much easier when we could use towelroot

At the moment you can not unlock the bootloader... you can root it...and from the reading up on it I did it doesn't look like the unlock will come soon either... I went through the same thing I feel for you ... best of luck...

Hmm...
So is it just the RAZR M XT907 that got this update? Or did the XT926 get the same thing? My thread I linked was for both, though I only had an XT926 to play with but as with all phones I unlock for customers I check for the most recent updates on the phone and I wasnt notified of any. I'm leaving the thread up because its useful to those who haven't taken it for the XT907, but could it go void because of the inability to downgrade the bootloader yet?

yes, you can reroot. since your bootloader is already unlocked, I'm assuming you have a custom recovery installed (TWRP or CWM)? if so, then you can flash supersu (search for it on XDA) via recovery.

Is root attainable on the D800's official lollipop update?

So, I'm currently running cloudyg2 2.2, and I'm thinking about downgrading back to stock and then taking the OTA to lollipop, but I haven't heard anyone mention if it is possible to retain root through the update process, or to obtain root afterwards. It'd be great if there was a flashable zip, but I don't know if that's possible at the moment.
You can get root again. Its a script in the development forum.
If you do this can you make a twrp backup of the stock lollipop rom and upload it? (since you'll essentially be pure stock anyway).
I'll buy you a beer

No, all on-device roots are patched with Lollipop (unless you have a custom recovery, which is unobtainable on stock lollipop for the d800 as far as I know)
Use the one that requires PC. If you run into issues, pm me or reply to me on this thread.

Please upload flashable zip of this official AT&T lollipop.

I'd assume you could just use a kdz to go back.
So.. no recovery as of yet on official Lollipop am I right?
Keeping that in mind, is it worth the update? Is it smoother/better?
I know this can be asked in any of the other threads, but I'm asking here with respect to its worth when compared to losing Custom Recovery.

you should be on download mode
download mode should be working with drivers and all.

Flash G955U1 With ENG_BOOT.tar And Modified ODIN. HOTSPOT, NO BLOATWARE (Confirmed)

Successfully flashed from G955USQU1AQEF to G955U1UEU1AQE3 using this method.
1. Backup your data. I found out the hard way that the ENG_BOOT.tar will reset the phone (I know... noob mistake).
2. Reboot into download mode and use the modified Odin to flash ENG_BOOT_G955U.tar under BL.
(I rebooted after this and went through the setup... Im not sure if you have to, but I know it will work if you do)
3. Reboot back into download mode and flash the G955U1UEU1AQE3 files in their appropriate fields.
(I didn't use the HOME_CSC, and everything seems to work great!)
I take no credit for the existence of these files.
Enjoy!

I think this is just a Engboot. Not a root method with Engboot. Just Engboot.
@Lmax579 @hazmad
There is no root or bootloader unlock, it's just the engineering bootloader. The only useful thing that I have found is that it allows you to flash the G955U1 firmware. It may allow for downgrading, but just attempting what I already did was enough risk for now... Maybe I'll try it at one point.

So do you have to use the Engineering Kernel to switch firmware versions now?
I thought you could just flash the U1 firmware using the modified Odin if you wanted to.

It doesn't have carrier bloatware, and enables tethering for other carriers. Possibly quicker updates, because there would be no wait for the carrier to release it, not positive on that tho.
