Nfc tags - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Anybody knows what type of nfc tag is compatible with v20 and trigger app? Seems like Samsung tectiles doesn't work.
I read and saw ntag215 and also 216. Any idea which one should i get?
Thanks

Begin tether via NFC?

So I have my nice new GN2 and my nice couple month old Nexus 7 both sporting awesome NFC tech, but what to do with it? My first though was pairing them via bt and using the lte from my Note 2 over my college's sad excuse for a wifi system to power my N7 during the day. Then I though maybe auto establishing a tablettalk connection as well. Does anyone know of a way to program the two devices to automatically connect in such a way?

I know it is possible. I was talking to someone who uses Tasker and an NFC tag to automatically tether his N7 to his phone, but I've never studied the recipe.
I'm not sure why the tag, but maybe so he doesn't have to remove the phone from his belt... it's attached to his holster case. He said he has another one attached to his car seatbelt clasp to set the phone into his driving mode.
Wish I could give you more details.
Yeah that's essentially what I want to accomplish, but I'm not crazy about sticking one of those tags to my device. I was just hoping there was a way (with or without root) to make it read the NFC connection as a tag and start the connection.

I suspect that you would be able to, since NFC handles touch and go and touch and connect. I think the problem for some people would be in how strong the NFC connection is on their phone (some of them are weak) and how close together you need to get the two unitsto trigger it, especially if they are both in thick cases.
Putting them back to back could be as much work as just creating a widget to trigger a Tasker recipe that would do the same thing.
I've been thinking about doing this, too, but haven't, so I might start playing with Tasker to see whether I can set it up.
I'm going to do the same. Let me know if you discover anything

use nfc to toggle wifi hotspot

hi guys
just wondering if anyone has got a method for this?
i am thinking it will be good if i use the nfc on my nexus 7 to triggle my galaxy nexus to toggle wifi hotspot to be on or off
this way i can quickly turn it on or off depending on where i am..
be good if someone can tell me if this is possible
btw don't patent this and then sue me
thanks
My friend had some NFC tags and I played with things like this on my HOX - it should be just the same with the N7. I used the app with the tags and was able to set up "profiles" of sorts. One for work that would turn WiFi on, GPS off, and set the phone to vibrate. Then another profile to do the reverse. I'd imagine WiFi hotspot would be listed in the huge list of things you could do too.

No NFC sensor on my S4

I was trying to S beam some stuff over with my note 2 to my new s4 but couldn't make it work. I've done it many times with friends with the S3. So I took out the back case of my black S4 and I didn't see the NFC sensor that my note 2 has. Anyone else out there know if its suppose to come with the NFC sensor or not.. Thanks.
Isn't the NFC included in the battery?

Yes its in the battery. Your battery should say "Near Field Communication" on it

The Note 2 NFC location is pretty high, put the S4 to the camera area of the Note 2 and it'll work just fine.
NFC Beaming
I was having the same issue this weekend with beaming things from my note 2 to my friends S4. After doing a lot of trouble shooting, i found that the S4 has to be inverted to beam. I know weird. the phones have to 69 to beam.

If the NFC is in the battery, does that mean it will be harder to find quality OEM batteries? Ya know, with the NFC being in the battery and all.

When you look around for batteries just make sure they say NFC included on it. I remember a good portion of the high capacity S3 batteries didn't have NFC and then I think Mugen or something came out with one. Just gotta read carefully.
Actually~
I believe this round's NFC is associated directly with the SIM.
I remember reading when ordering the device that it comes with the device and the NFC-ready SIM or some such thing, as compared to the battery or back housing like other devices had in the past.
Very odd this is..I was thinking the S4 had a diff kind of NFC, since it worked with S3 and not N2. Held it upside down. Worked...
So I guess the S4 and Note II have to perform 69 in order to beam stuff, huh?

U gotta place the s4 half way higher on the note 2 to get it to work. I transferred movies to my friends note 2 that way so I know it works. Only thing I couldn't get to transfer was music. Ive done it before on my s3 but the s4 wont. Its weird

Incase anyone cares about the details:

SO much bad information being spread on this thread, I had to step in and help out.... the NFC chip is inside your phone, the NFC antenna is what's on the outside layer of your battery! Here's a good article for everyone here to read since no one has identified this correctly:
http://samsunggeeks.com/2012/07/03/nfc-explained-nfc-for-smartphones/#.UYP8o7WV9B0
Here's a link to what the antenna looks like under the battery label:
http://tamsandroid.tamoggemon.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/nfc_battery.jpg
Your phone absolutely came with an NFC chip and an NFC antenna, let's not get too carried away because you either A) didn't have NFC or S Beam enabled on the S4, it's a different process than it was with the SIII, or B) weren't using it correctly!

No, the NFC isn't in the SIM. Some carriers are using 'special' SIM's which are used as some sort of secondary authentication for NFC transactions. I think this was to satisfy the banks and credit card companies. The actual NFC sensor/antenna is still in the battery.

Ebay change something that prevents ebay 3.0 from working any longer. I refuse to update since 4.0 flat out blows so forced to use the mobile site.
Anybhacks or maybe an exposed module to prevent ebay from telling what version i am using to re enable 3.0? Iy logged me out "session expired" i can log back in but then it logs me back out session expired.
So if the version the app is reporting can be spoofed? Might work? Anyway tobalter the apknso it reports itself as the newer version?

Nextradio app

Anyone else having issues with the best radio app? I get an error problem with FM hardware
Sent from my 2PYB2 using Tapatalk
Hadn't tried it yet, but I just did after reading this and I got nothing. It could be that this phone doesn't have the FM receiver built in. It's amazing how many people don't know about that...
I am 99 % sure it has it maybe they have not updated the app for the phone yet
