The phone is on original 7.0 rom. Since 2 or 3 weeks the device gets frozen unconditionaly. I tried holding power and volume down button for more than 30 secs to restart but this and other combinations didn't work. Only waiting for a battery drain off make the phone restartable.

Mine is doing the same thing. It also reboots randomly. I am beginning to suspect that it is a hardware problem.

power & volume down when device is on is screenshot
power and volume down when device is off wont do anything - you need to press home as well. But that combination is for download mode not recovery, which is volume up, home and power.

That may not work either - I have had black screen several time (usually on S8 Ports), when the only way to restart it is easy but annoying.
Just plug it into a power source. As soon as you see anything on the screen, go to download mode, but use sound down button as soon as download comes up and it should reboot.
Have had to do it around 12 times in the last few months.

I just experience the same issue and have tried all the button combinations. Are you simply just leaving the phone alone for the battery drain off? THat is the only thing I have not tried as I don't know when the battery is dead.

Hi Everyone,
I know its a few threads about how to unbrick Advent Vega and how many threads is that many ideas how to do it.
I was running ViewCOMB 3.2 built 5.1 and everything was ok, but ive installed Rom Manager from Market, and tried other rom (wrong one ).
After reboot nothing is happening, i mean when i press power button for ok 10 sec and then short press again, screen is on black with backlight for about 1 sec and keep coming off.
Ive tried to turn into boot mode (2sec. back + 2 sec. power) about 1000 times already with power cable on and off, but nothing happening.
I have drivers installed on my laptop (had installed custom rom already).
I want to specify a few facts:
Is battery must be charged to full? or should start another try from flat?
If so, how to drain battery if tablet wont power up?
Is better to try with power cable on or off?
Some people saying about holding buttons for a 2 sec, other for 1 sec, what is right?
Any ideas?
Many thanks!
Finally after hours of pressing and holding power + back buttons I've sorted it.
- hold power button for about 10 sec. (to make sure device is off)
- hold back button 2 sec. (don't release)
- press power button till notification sound will come on.
Then had notification sound from Windows about new device connected. On my device list was Nvidia usb boot-recovery device.
Before last try I've charged battery to full (blue light) then disconnected power cable. I couldn't do it with battery full and power cable in (strange).
I think the main hint is to make sure that device is off. Ive noticed that even if screen is off device might be running.
Hopefully this little explanation will help

THAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNKKKKK YYYYYYYYYOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had the same problem and I thought it was bricked for like, 4ever, so THNX!!!
i had exactly the same problem last night when i asked CWM to do a backup and the screen went black and wouldnt switch on.
one way to tell if it hasnt powered off properly when its stale booting is to look under the black surround between the screen and the camera and you may see a faint blue light. Only viewable with about 5 deg viewing angle (so same as the screen LOL)
i found i could not get it into boot mode at all. No matter how many times i did it. Ending up taking the back off and pulling the battery and then trying again - guess what? Worked straight away first time!!!
I can only presume that when its in this stale boot state it isnt shutting down properly, even if the light is off etc. Although i did come across a post after sorting it that said sometimes it can take a 60 second press of the power button to properly shut it down when its in stale boot.
So now i'm back to standard modded stock rom 2.2 and its horrendous!!!!
Just finished downloading the beta ics rom exe - so gonna whack that on and have a play! Hope its as good as they say it is. If it isnt, then i'll put honeycomb back on.
I think that instead of pulling tha battery out you could also press and hold the power button for 9 seconds, right?
I just flashed MOAR rom on my phone a few days ago and everything was working perfectly then while at work I pulled my phone out of my pocket and noticed my case had slipped off and was holding the power button down. After fixing the case I tried to unlock my phone and nothing came up on my screen. I held down the power button and the only thing that happened was my LED indicator is flashing green rapidly and at different brightness. Then I pulled the battery and left it out of my phone for 2 hours and still the only thing that is happening is the LED. When I plug it into my computer without me hitting the button the LED is flashing. It wont boot into recovery and I don't want to send it in and them find a custom rom on it so any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, I've tried holding just the power button for a minute or trying to go into either download or recovery mode and got nothing.

Try the same thing with the charger plugged in.
"Try holding down the power button for 1 minute with the charger connected. If this doesn't present the screen, try holding the power button AND both volume buttons at the same time. This should bring up a menu. There should be an option for reboot or force reboot"

Are you using the original data cable? Try a different USB port maybe?
I had rooted my dad's lg g2( D802) and installed twrp using an app named autorec as it was recommended by many people in the internet and had very high ratings and downloads in the play store. Everything was fine for a few weeks till I noticed that the app had an update. So I flashed twrp again from the app hoping it was a newer version and it said it completed the operation successfully. Then I just used the phone for sometime and after that I switched off the phone to enter the recovery. After it switched off, I pressed the button combination for entering the recovery but nothing came up. Then I attempted to just boot the phone and kept pressing the power button but nothing came up. I even kept pressing the button for upto a minute to hard reboot it in case it was just a case of hanging but nothing came up.After that, I plugged it in for charging and attempted to boot again. After I kept pressing the power button for about 30 seconds while charging, the led blinked red 8 times, paused and repeated itself as long as I kept holding the power button.
The problem is that it even the screen doesn't turn on.
I searched for this issue and saw that many others were facing this issue. I tried the following solutions given by them which did not work:
1) Holding the power button for a long time
2) Keeping it for charging until it's full but nothing comes up and the phone got heated up very much untill I stopped it a few hours later.
3) Removing the back cover and detaching the battery power cable from the phone after after waiting for sometime, reattaching it.
My dad showed it to the lg repair centre but they told him they need to replace the whole board which is very expensive, especially considering that it is a 2+ year old phone. My dad is very angry at me and probably won't let me touch his phones ever again if I don't fix this. Please help me.
Thanks in Advance
Edit: the charge was at 45% when I switched it off. Don't think it is because of low battery
With the phone pluggged into your computer, does the computer recognize the phone? And if yes, what does Device Manager report it as being?

more info... what variant? phone does not boot.. can you press vol up then plug phone .. does download mode works... stay calmed this can be fixed..:fingers-crossed:
I haven't tried plugging it to the computer. The way to enter download mode is holding the volume up button right? Thank you for the suggestion. I'm away for a few days but I'll tell my dad to do so. I'll post what happens then. Variant is D802
OK I told him to do that. When he pressed the volume up button and then plugged it to his computer, 13 new partitions showed up in windows, and it is telling him that he needs to format the positions to use it. But nothing is coming up on the phone
Do NOT let Windows format the partitions(!)
Use the SRKTool instead to unbrick from qhsusb_bulk mode:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/tools-srk-tool-useful-toos-lg-root-twrp-t3079076
Afterwards use LG Flash Tool 2014 to flash the KDZ for your variant:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
It's better to let the battery charge to full first. Shut down the phone by holding PWR button for 10 seconds, then plug charger. It should work even in bulk mode.
Did you try these simple things...
shutdown phone keeping powerbutton down.
Start pressing power button & vol down....when you see LG logo for couple seconds. Release fingers and press vol UP and vol DOWN, same time. No power button.

But the problem is, even the screen doesn't turn on while on download mode. I'll surely try out the unbrick tool but will it work since normally, the download mode screen comes up. That thing is 760mb. I think it'll take some time for it to finish. (Ultra slow internet connection )

I have a at&t S4 that all of a sudden today stopped working. When I restart the phone by taking the battery out and putting back in, it gets stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S4 logo and then a black screen. I tried going to recovery mode(volume up + home + power button), and it shows recovery booting in blue for a sec then goes black. I tried for download mode the warning comes up but after pressing volume up it goes black. I really don't know what to do at this point.
Tried using kies or smart switch to perform a firmware recovery?
Yes, the computer doesn't recognize that the phone is connected. It's as if when the phone goes to the black screen its actually powered off. The only time I get anything from the phone is when I pull the battery and reinsert it.

When the phone battery are too low, the phone could behave like that too.
Do you know that battery is fully charged or has more than 60%?
If not charge the phone first.
Plug the charger. If you did not see any sign showing that you phone is charging, press and hold the power button for 10 sec and release it. You should see the phone charging image.
Let me know whether your phone has enough battery power left but showing the above mentioned problems.

Yes, the battery is fully charged. I have another S4 Active that I've swapped the batteries with, along with a spare official Samsung battery and charger. It doesn't matter which battery I use, the phone acts the same with any of the 3.

If you have enough battery power left but the phone was behaved like that, you might need to flash the firmware.
Are you in lollipop or kitkat? For the time being, the only firmware available for kit-kat and lollipop is NB1 firmware cooked by muniz_ri . You can get it from here.
You mentioned that you can go to download mode but the phone shut off when you press volume up to go to the download mode after the warning.
Try the 10 sec method. Go to the download mode (power+home+volume-down) but keep holding the power button for 10 sec even though you see the warning message appear. Then you press volume up to go the download mode. Try this way and let me know.

That is strange. The same thing happened to me. But I avoided the phone shut down by 10 sec methods.
Just hold the power+home+volume down for 10 sec, even though the warning sign show up, and then let it go all of them. Plug the phone to the computer and then press the volume-down to go into download mode. It works for me. Not on the first try though.
Try doing that with batter charger plug in too.

Thanks for your help. I figured out whats wrong, its got a faulty power button. I took the phone apart, put it back together, and was able to get it to boot completely. The slightest touch of the power button causes it to reboot though, so I'm going to need to replace it.

Yes, power bottom could give you a problem too. I use screen off app so I do not have to use power button to turn off the screen.
Hi,
I slept last night with ~40% in my OP6T. When I woke up, the phone wont start anymore. I am rooted with the latest Magisk, and latest stock rom.
When I press the power power button, it doesnt even show me the screen where I have the bootloader warning. I've tried pressing the power key alone for 15 seconds, power + up volume for 15 seconds , power key + down volume for 15 seconds, power key + both volume keys for 15 seconds but nothing happens.
I just cannot get my screen to start:crying::crying::crying:
I have also tried connecting my phone to the laptop, I get a "safely remove OP6T" notification in the task bar, but my phone inst identified in the storage..
If anyone could help me, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot

Hold pwr and up button for a couple of seconds.
So after 1000s of attempts, its started on its own (on the 1001th ) attempt when I held the vol up and pwr button. It wasnt a case of battery drain as I had only connected it to the system for 10 mins and the battery when it started was 53%.
Is there a way to find out how it tuned off ? some crash logs or something ?
Can an admin please close this thread ?
Yeah it seems like there's an issue with the phone loading up after it's went dead..and I've had that issue a few times where I had to play with it for an hour in order for it to finally load...I even knew it was dead and plugged it up to a charger and it would stay on the bootloader screen and I left it on the charger for an hour or so..and then held the <pwr><vol+> to shut it off and when I did all that I then powered it on and took the charging cable out and it still said it was low battery..so while on the unlocked bootloader screen it wasn't charging(weird)..so after fooling with it summore I finally got it to charge just random didn't do anything I hadn't previously done and all was good. But it seems like this only happens after it dies and I don't Kno if the unlocked bootloader is the issue or what but it's aggravating to have to fool with it for that long.
I think there is something wrong with your ROM.. Are you rooted? If I were you, I'd wipe the phone completely and install a new Rom, redoing the setup from scratch..
I have wiped and rooted with magisk and twrp recovery installed.. and I have zero issues in the current setup..now only when it has died did this seem to happen..oh I have wiped 3x because of bootloop and soft brick previously..so I don't think that is the solution (wipe and clean install)..just weird

I haven't tried this, but from what I've read, using the MSM tool is the only sure way to completely factory reset your phone.. Using anything else could leave remnants in the ROM causing problems..

For some reason my fastboot drivers are not working anymore, the MSM tool is not a option for me.
