Battery drain and higher phone temp after latest software update - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

After installing the latest software update the battery drain has increased dramatically and the temperature is on average 2-3% higher.
Can't see any installed apps draining the phone, so thinking it must be bloatware or within the system. BK Disabler did not reveal anything.
Has anyone experienced this?

Google services drains battery after latest update from Samsung

Hi,
I just installed latest update from Samsung via Kies (Baseband: I9300XXLH1 / Build: IMM76D.I9300XXBLH1) but now I suddently have huge battery problems. It only takes a few hours for the battery to go from 100% to <10%. Prior to the update I could easily have it running for a whole day without recharging.
From the battery stats it looks like Google Services is the bad guy using the most battery. Since I have not changes anything in regards to the services, I suspect that some bug has been introduced.
Has any of you experienced this? is there a fix for this?
thansk
It should be some wake locks and sync issues, install bbs and GSam Battery Monitor and find out the culprit

Battery Drain / Battery Issues on system idle

So, after removing cell idle from the battery drain equation and disabling as many system apps as I could get away with, I notice system idle is draining the vast majority of power. If I barely use the nook, it only lasts for about 3 days. 97% of the battery drain is from "system idle" and 3% is from screen. I noticed that system idle drains as much power per minute about as the screen does. How can I diagnose what is sucking the power when idle? Under ideal circumstances, overnight drain should only take 1-3%, but for me it drains about 15% on idle.

Don´t know if this helps but since I upgraded the official firmware to 1.2.0 on my Nook Glowlight, I have the same issues. My nook not being rooted or in any way changed, I suppose they have included some bulls*t in their original fw. So if you are using it as a base for your rooted image, it might explain the battery draining.
They have pretty quickly came up with a version 1.2.1, maybe they´ve realised and resolved the issue, so I will try this as soon as my nook recovered from the latest drain. If that doesn´t help, I´ll go back to 1.1.5, and if that fails, I´ll visit them and kick some butt for ruining my perfectly well working reader. Thank you so much, B&N!

Try the power management tips from the following thread & see if it helps

I've got the same problem on 1.2.0. I've updated to 1.2.1 and done factory reset. After that battery drain wanished.
BTW I've never rooted.

Has anyone figured out the Play Services battery drain?

It happened a few weeks ago and has not improved. After the most recent update, I'm getting anywhere from 15 - 50% battery usage from Play Services.; my usual play services battery usage is 1 - 3%. I'm on the latest version, and apparently it's affecting devices from all different manufacturers. It's not heating my phone up and it still says it's deep sleeping, which leads me to believe it's messing with hardware - constantly scanning wifi or bluetooth or something. CPU usage isn't any higher than normal. If I leave my phone unlugged while I sleep, it'll drain 25+% battery over 8hrs while it claims it was in deep sleep the whole time.
I can't roll back or remove play services (I'm rooted and on Oreo), I'm about to try clean flashing my ROM with no gapps, and installing an older version of play services. I don't know what to do, I'm just wondering if anyone here has had the issue or found a way to stop it.
edit: I ended up clean flashing my ROM with the latest opengapps and it seems to have stopped killing my battery.

Bixby Global Actions and Bixby Services causing high Android System battery drain?

Hi,
My Samsung Galaxy S8+ used to hit 5 hours of screen on time minimum. But lately it has been tanking at about 1 percent every 3 minutes or so. When checking battery stats, it says that it is a high android system battery usage. When checking apps for potential battery drain, Bixby Global Actions and Bixby Services was 84 percent of the Android System battery drain. Please assist? Has this happened to anyone else? Should I factory reset?
Same thing happened to me right after the Oreo update. Last night I disabled all Bixby related apps, will see how it affects battery life until tonight. will update.

Perfect. Thank you so much. Look forward to your update. I did perform a factory reset so will also update after a few days of use
Any update on this? I was getting terrible battery life on my S9 due to high Android System drain. I did a factory reset and everything was great until I set up Bixby. Then Android System started killing battery life. I disabled everything related to Bixby but it still continued. Just did another factory reset and all is good again, but I'm scared to accidentally hit that button.
Hi,
Unfortunately still no news. I've tried clearing my cache multiple times. But still cannot find the culprit. I have managed to make my standby battery drain decent by updating to the latest March security update. But there is still a high Android system battery drain when using the phone. About 1% battery every 3 minutes.
I'm in the same boat. I did some research and found users complaining about bixby global action and bixby service draining thier batter after the oero update. I looked at my own results and found them draining 178% each! I just disabled the both of them but I'm still losing 1% about every 4 or 5 minutes. Going recharge my phone and see what results I get.
Got sick of this oreo update, the battery isnt as good as nougat even with crd7 and also if you set display on wqhd and u use app pair , after that when u hit the multitaskig button there is an animation stuter, i cannot cope with this.
And I had problems with batery but now it is better.
Clean cashe in recovery menu
Set Wi Fi to energy saving
Disable Google services in backround
With this now my batery is 15 - 20% better.
With or without Bixby - same.
My soft is CRD7
