Point was that folks that don't know what they are talking about won't recognize themselves as being the persons you asked to not post.
This is an internet forum requiring no credentials nor training to participate; and it cost you nothing to post. So you'll probably get your money's worth.
Have a good day.

NO the note will NOT work, software wouldn't be a problem with mod the problem is a lack of hardware

Unsurprisingly, Another Very Positive Review of the Note

I make no apology for posting another very positive review of the Note, because it is well written and it shows everyone, especially prospective buyers, how fantastic the Note really is.
http://www.coolsmartphone.com/2011/11/30/samsung-galaxy-note-review/
Is the note really that bad to keep posting positive reviews about it ?

The Note is not bad at all, which is why there are so many positive reviews that should be posted to the forum to help newcomers decide whether to buy the Note or not.
I actually used some reviews from bigger sites to consider getting the note and also referred to 1 user review, none of them really covered the negatives or even atleast tried to go into that part (but I dont blame them) I dont fault samsung for this but only my self for not having enough information before purchasing, well actually the information was already presented to me before purchasing and I still took the plunge, good thing though Im getting my money back. Maybe the Galaxy S3 or Note2 can give me what I need.
@EarlZ: In your opinion yes - refund 9.02.12
So what ist the reason for such a destructive post?

Sarcastic or destructive, care to elaborate what makes you say that? The above statement the very gist of what I got the Galaxy Note.. based on good reviews from major sites that I trust and they failed to cover some points but it was already covered here in XDA but I still took the plunge, I found it unacceptable and asked for my money back.. isnt that what everyone does if they find the product unacceptable for their needs/expectation ?
But anyway thats your personal translation of my post, just saying what those reviews got me.

I agree completely. Finding it weird that someone who's returned his note and hates the phone keep posting to a forum for those who use it.

Yup, the only thing he's done here for the last two month is whining in every single thread, and if he doesn't even have the Note now, i really don't know why he's wasting his energy here.
Please move to the Galaxy Nexus section (where you'll experience the same problems).

No, it's not that bad. There are a few people who returned them, but I haven't counted too many.
extremely satisfied
if the size is not an issue go for the note
The screen is the most amazing i have ever used
The screen size is a pleasure to surf or watch videos or photos
Gaming is a pleasure
I also own the hd2 with a 4.3 inch screen and the
latest ics rom ported to it
But the moment i saw the note i was deeply in love again.
I dont feel like using the hd2 anymore its screen looks so dull and outdated.
The note is the god of all phones.
Not a single reboot. Amazing speed.great 3g surfing
I just cant imagine any reason not to go fo it

I have an S2 and a Note. I thought my S2 was the best phone I've ever used until the Note. I have read all the problems people have had but for me personally I have not experienced ANY of these issues.
The S2 was originally snappier than my Note but once I upgraded to LA4 its as fast as my S2. The S2 is a great phone but as someone else stated, if size isn't an issue I would recommend the Note. I love everything about it and still marvel at it each day.

Amazon review says US unlocked phones won't be getting ICS.

I have no idea about the validity of this. I ordered the very phone that this review is for. Any thoughts?

As long as it is indeed a n7000 u can get the official rom updates here and the awsome roms from the devs. I am using a german note with hk rom and getting hk rom updates via kies . No problem at all.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
That review is not correct.
I just received that exact phone last week, from Amazon. Each Galaxy Note has a region code to indicate where it came from (Mine was from the UAE). This code can be changed to any region you want. This will allow for a stock upgrade to ICS, when it comes out.
Also, just like the previous poster said, you can root and put any rom you want on your Note.
I am running the stock ICS beta, from January. For me, it is awesome. I am running at 213 DPI which gives me the tablet mode look.

So you neither discredit nor credit what is posted on xda and Amazon reviews nor do you place credibility on the opinions or facts of those places above what you personally believe which is based off the things you read which may or may not have any significant validity as to its claims, which is still eclipsed by the fact that you take everything with "a grain of salt" that is on the internet, which is the place you have come to with a question seeking an answer.
I think you should meet with an authority figure who you can't discredit, in person (to eliminate the internet factor), so you can get the facts.
I know the perfect person, he can be found in a mirror.
P.S. stay free
It'll get updated to ICS. Don't worry. But it will be layered with TouchWiz. In this year, Samsung will not be stupid enough to cut the cord on a 3 month old device. That would be pure suicide. The PR nightmare.
Basically true. My conclusions is derived from all the information I've gathered with consideration of credibility of the various sources.

I wish I could express how sad this thread makes me, if I remember this is supposed to be a site for development. If there's anything to discuss here it's that you might see 300-400 megs of RAM more than your current and LTE will chew through that measly battery. If you always pre-order the latest greatest you'll be a man with very little money and not much to show for it. 200 dollars for an LTE radio which will destroy battery life and a few hundred megs of RAM. As one guy said the Note would at least be a different phone and probably a better investment, either that or keep your current GS3 and get an LTE capable tab. Every single experience I've had with LTE on my phone leads to general dissatisfaction due to it dying half way through the day. Anyway pointless thread, stop blowing money on pointless stuff enjoy what you have.

I've a year or so left on my contract anyway and my current provider "3" doesn't offer an LTE service at the moment anyway, so I'll just wait and see how the LTE market matures here in the UK.
At the moment I have unlimited data including tethering and that suits me just fine.. "3" are just rolling out the latest version of HSPA+ with support for theoretical speeds of 42Mbps so Im hoping that will give me most of a good balance of speed and battery life.

Please, step down from that high horse of yours. The general section is for stuff that isn't really development related, and if this discussion cannot be held here, it would have been locked by now. You want development related activities, relocate yourself to the development forums on this very site.
Just because you have had a bad experience with LTE devices, doesn't mean OP will. Yes, it consumes more battery and RAM than a non-LTE capable phone, but there are people who don't mind. Personally, I won't buy an LTE phone, because 3G suits me more than enough, but that's me.
If this thread makes you sad, why did you feel the need to drop a useless comment showing it? You would have saved approximately 10-20 seconds (give or take) by not posting that comment.

not really useless considering the fact, despite I don't really like the idea of this thread I still answered OPs question. Xda-Developers isn't about developing anymore?(I need to section myself off to a specific "development thread" instead of discussing general things about the phone) there will always be something better than what you have making a thread to point out you're not satisfied is fairly pointless. Arguing with someone who tells me to get off my high horse is another. General forum is general discussion about the gt-i9300 Samsung Galaxy S III not about what you're going to buy next week or what else is better. enjoy your damn device.
P.S. If you want to have a circle jerk about new devices and pushing people off their "high horses" reddit is always an option. :fingers-crossed:

Development is strict development only, but just because it says general doesn't give anyone the right to flood it with topics that don't even have a relation to your device. Saying you don't like Samsung because they made a different variant of the phone or perhaps "better" is silly anyway.
If you ask me, the OP didn't seem unsatisfied.

AT&T might have awful customer service, but things like this are the reasons I stick around. AT&T seems to be very happy with the sales of the Galaxy devices and is becoming pretty fair with their updates, so it doesn't surprise me that they'll probably get the S4 first. Also, I'm sure that Samsung loves AT&T.

I dropped AT&T after 10+ years when they refused to offer Android because they had their noses up Steve Jobs' sphincter.
But I went to T-Immobile which was a real mess.
Am on Verizon now, but will be back to AT&T for the S4 so I can have an unlocked global phone. No more CDMA for me. And there is no way in Hell that I would ever lock myself into a contract. Kind of like playing Russian Roulette just to drive a car you can't really save for.

Whenever we go in to ATT store i run Speedtest on one of their 4g phones- usually around 8mb. Then i run it on my VZW and it's like 18mb. So i think verizon wins in that category.

I literally joined the forum to let you know what a douche you are. It's miserable losers like you that make reading forums so painful. You think you're being cute, but FYI, you're not. You get called out for being an an obnoxious tool, but instead of fading away you decide to reply with something even douchier. Just stop.
You are not funny, so stop trying.

Then you need to get a life. My answer is the correct answer. Only Samsung and the carriers know for sure.
It wasn't meant to be a 'dumb' answer. Unfortunately, some people on the internet, yourself included, seem to have a comprehension problem.

So is that a yes or a no? I'm curious as well
not sure what samsung all is but i'm sure it's like kingroot which when used it puts the s7 in a bootloop.. wow i can not believe noone has an answer....
The thread directly below yours has the dude who gave us the engboot for MM saying he has it for N, and wants money to release it. Or, it looks like he's saying that at least? Aside from that, no there's no root for our phone on Nougat yet.

I call bs on that guy. No proof from him that it works right?
If an ENG kernel exists for N (7.0) it will surface, I don't think that 9 post guy is legit asking for donations.... I call bull shirt. LMAO.

JusMEJOSE claimed the same thing on the Note 7 forums when the Note 7 came out. Everyone was excited to think it would have root right away and when everyone asked him to release it, he disappeared. People tried to contact him for weeks and he acted like a prick and would not even answer their messages. With that kind of record, Good luck. Only a demented person would believe that if he had it, he would release it. He lies and expects people to not remember? I think he does it for the attention. My memory is pretty good and I remember deceiving people very well. How about releasing it and then asking those who benefited to donate instead? That's what a decent person would do.

Ah OK, so he's got less than zero credibility so far, he has negative credibility lol
Once he said he would do it remotely, that was a dead giveaway lol. Theres no root for N just yet
