Know a little inside info on the annoucement from Sprint Vendor :) Feb 7th

Okay guys don't troll me here but I did find out a little bit about the announcement. Okay, it's a new 4g phone, that runs android...may seem short or like I didn't give you any information but this is what it is. So, let's hope it's an HTC device that does something amazing hopefully...once again, please no trolling just passing on the info I received from my store when the Sprint vendor came in to setup a display at the mobile store in my store.

I highly doubt a Sprint tech at a random store knows anything about the February 7th announcement.

once again bro, i really honestly could care less...I'm just passing information on that will hopefully benefit the community, I trust his word over any one's here saying anything when it comes to what Sprint is releasing, he told me that's as much as he can tell me without getting in trouble. BTW it was a sprint vendor my fault...

That makes the case even worse... Sprint vendors are all retarded, I deal with them daily. They say anything and everything to make a $. Though with all the android people being invited, I wouldn't doubt it is an android phone.

everyone's going to know what the announcement is in a few days...the vendor is not making any money, he set up some display or something, i don't work in the mobile department, i figured i'd ask him. He's not making any money off of me...

I think its a 4g tab and I believe it will be a HTC tab at that. It will Def be a industry 1st. (4g on a tab, n htc's first tab) my 2 cents !

Not saying he's making $ off of you, but I guarantee you he thought that by telling you some "inside" information you'd stick around and buy something. Again, I deal with all vendors daily, I hate them and should all be fired, except Best Buy, they're the most honest vendors out there. Radioshack and all others suck.

But it's only available on select planets in the solar system.
A premium $50 a month data fee will be charged to your plan whether you can access it or not.

Stupid vendors. One of ours for where i work hasn't been to the store in a month... (supposed to come every month.)

I'm bumping this bc of all the threads about the stupid iPhone...a iPhone is not an industry first...and all the people going oh my god 4g iPhone...Apple is not going to remake the iPhone just for Sprint. This would make sense for possibly the next iPhone but not the current one, cmon now

Actually, realistically, retooling the iphone for Sprint would take minimal effort. No iphone is or ever will be branded, so basically the Verizon one is simply a "cdma iphone" programmed for Verizon. I'm not HOPING for this as the announcement, as I actually switched to android from an iphone, and I'm happy I did, so I don't care either way about a Sprint i-turd. Just saying it would take very little to do it.

How did someone get the Vibrant 4g early?

Ok so yesterday I was on craigslist right, and I noticed someone had a Vibrant 4g. I didn't believe it myself, so I decided to meet the guy and see if its true. Sure enough, it was a Vibrant 4g! He told me he got it early? But how? It had the new.brown backing, and a different box. Ffc, stock 2.2.1, and the H data. He wanted 500obo for it.

There was a post in Q&A where someone posted they'd got one early and was posting it on ebay. Most people seem to think it's fake, but if more stories are popping up about this, maybe it's legit...

Yea ibsaw that one but there's was fake, this one was real. I seen it in person.

i'm actually the one that got the galaxy s 4g... i did a handset exchange cause i bricked my vibrant and this is just what came in the mail. i even called and asked if it was sent wrong so i could unlock it to put it on ebay. so i have the unlock code and everything now..

Haha you might wanna go check your topic in Q&A cause no ones buying it. You've already been reported at least twice to ebay for fraudulent listing. For any future con jobs, try not to advertise your crime to a forum full of people who, EVERY DAY, use the exact phone youre trying to trick us into buying.

Look at the thread "Received Galaxy S 4G Early" in Q&A before calling me a douche. If it wasnt obvious enough, I wasnt talking to the OP, I was talking about the guy I quoted.
I did my research, unlike you.
EDIT: Also I dont even believe he was drunk...he may have been, but I believe the misleading auction was completely intentional. If he took the time to unlock it, surely he would have noticed VIBRANT in big bright white letters when you first boot the phone. I think he's just backpedaling since pretty much everyone in his thread called him on his bull****.

3G icons are also built in. But I have only gotten the 4G Icon or Edge. 3G/H has never popped up. They codded the framework to only display the 4G Icon with on HSDPA and HSDPA+

Samsung is simply not a good brand to buy in the US. Outside of the US may be a different story buy I don't think I'll buy another samsung while I live here.what I don't understand is why samsung can't just work with the open source community and give us a leak.

You must be living is Samsung's ass since you are so well acquainted with the relationship between the manufacturer and the carrier. I know the carrier has a lot to do with it, this is why i suggest samsung work more directly with the the open source community. If you weren't so concerned with being a troll you may have noticed the suggestion. Now instead of spending your energy trying to tear people down, why not just crawl back into the hole you dropped out of and stfu!

Do you realize what a "CONTRACT" is, i know it may be a big word, but try to give me your attention span for a minute or two.
Samsung... has CONTRACTS. CONTRACTS prevent them from doing stuff.
CARRIERS bloat your phone for a few months and prepare their own software for it. TMOBILE is BUILT into your phone, even if you unlock it and change carriers, TMOBILE is still there.
Oh and the hole might be---- never mind, i won't go there...

That would suck, I wanted to upgrade to the prime when it came out. Verizon doesn't make the most sense though. I would think ATT + Sprint first since they already carry the nexus line. ATT had the N1, then had the Nexus S right away. Why would Google switch it up on people that went to ATT and Sprint to get nexus phones.

they decided to move it back a week, to show a little respect for steve jobs' passing. "it didn't feel like an appropriate time for a show/announcement" or something like that.
and tbh, i don't mind if it's a verizon-only model. i live in central pennsylvania right now and sprint coverage is trash. i've been waiting for a good reason to change over and this looks like it'll be the reason.

Temporarily, according to a recent post I forgot where, it looks like there will be the Verizon version and then the "real" Prime will be released for all.

I was thinking the same thing. Right now my bill is $79 after taxes and fees. But on verizon is $73 before the taxes, fees, and insurance is even added. I'm thinking it'll come out to 90-100 bucks. I don't know if It's worth it to me at that point

Don't forget Japanese company Softbank bought Sprint. They have very deep pockets. They will turn this thing around.

I read a similar article at cnet yesterday. Remember they are just getting started. I believe that the Japanese company will get sprint turned around. The article I read stated they are back to gaining instead of losing customers. That's a good sign.

UPS... When I was 20 years old (1978)I went through the hiring process with them. I show up at the last pre hire meeting... I was told... Hey, your only 20? Well you can't drive for us but you can load packages. They screwed up.
Anyway, yes 2k people are going to lose a job let's hope those that do are the idiots that don't have a clue. Sprint still has a lot of them.

And they are making customers fuming with note 4 zagg issue. As of right now I will NOT recommend sprint. They have not changed their behavior from 10 years ago. Same b.s. that gave them a bad rap. I am really regretting moving to sprint.
I bought my phone outright. And am really considering selling it paying off phone and going elsewhere.
Or just keeping it and taking phone to another carrier.
I hope they go bankrupt. Maybe then they will listen to their customers.

I've been with sprint for ten years now... Through the good times and the bad... What I am trying to convey is let's hope that sprint is getting it's act together... Seem to be... Fingers crossed...

Hopefully Sprint turns around. I don't like the idea of limited data with the other carriers. T-mobile dies look good... But it's not much cheaper than the plan I have now.

This isn't exactly true..... I'm sure Sprint probably doesn't want you to be able to do it but my daughter's both have sprint phones. EVO LTE and a Motorola Photon and believe it or not they both can use data and talk at the same time.
