Battery died - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi folks, my S5900i went weird on me in a hurry. Any tasks that used a lot of power shut the phone down. Rebooting was hit and miss. It started when I flashed a rom update (stock rooted) and a boot loop happened. Plugged in to power enabled a back up flash to get an OS. I first thought I had buggered up the update, but the fix was a new battery.
I hope this helps if users that get similar symptoms.

Oh no! Endless loop reboot :(

I was on Energy 4.20 rom. It was freezing up so I went to task manager and killed the first task (device.exe). The phone froze at the task manager screen so I took out the battery. I put it back in but the phone wouldn't boot.
I plugged it into my laptop and it booted to the "Stuck Together" screen. When I unplugged it, it turned off. So I decided to flash the rom again (after running Tsk 29) WITH THE SAME ROM I HAD SUCCESSFULLY FLASHED BEFORE. I did this by leaving it plugged in so it was looping. I held down the volume down button and got it into boot loader. Then I flashed. It was successful and the phone went through the normal boot sequence and got to one of the HTC screens. I unplugged the phone and again it died.
Now I've flash multiple different roms and its the same results each time. Boots, goes to "Stick Together", shows me the rom/radio version, reboots. And if its not plugged in, nothing happens.
WTF just happen? Do I need to flash the radio? I've never done that before, I've only ever flashed the Energy Roms.
Oh my goodness...
One of the three battery pins was bent up and not making contact with the battery.
Lesson:
Don't drink and flash
lol, wise words indeed.

Help, phone doesn't boot (pure stock, not rooted phone)

I'm having a strange problem today on my Desire Z.
First of all, my phone isn't rooted or modified in any way, it's pure stock.
I rebooted the phone this morning and for some reason it doesn't want to boot anymore. All was working well before.
After I turn it on, it's stuck on a white screen with skateboarding Android (see attached file). I waited, and waited (over 15 mins) but nothing happens.
Since I can't turn it off, I pulled the battery and restarted the phone. Same thing happens over and over.
I tryed holding volume down + power to boot into bootloader: it doesn't work either.
Any help would be much appreciated
Thx in advance.

*HELP* Android stuck on reboot cycle and Recovery not working

Hi,
Not long ago I upgraded my phone over the air for the first time and installed android 2.3 and it was taking for ever and the phone died and the battery was taken a few times during the process. A few days after my started acting weird. Now its stuck on a reboot cycle. It will load, and it will be normal for a few seconds (max 20s) then it reboots again and it keeps going into that cycle.
I tried to go into recovery and perform a factory reset but the volume controls are not working. Please help because at the moment I don't have a phone.
Thanks!
Anyone help?
Sorry to hear that. Wish I knew of something...
anyone have anything that can help?

Charging issues (solved)

purchased a new Galaxy S4, from sprint.
rooted using auto-root and installed teamwin recovery. all good. kept using the phone flawlessly for three days.
was going to flash CM10.2 through the recovery when i noticed the big button in the CyanogenMod home advertising the installer.
since this phone is compatible, then decided to try that.
CM11 installed right away and worked great, charged the phone, took a couple pictures, great.
then an update was requested to the ROM, so i installed it.
that update resets all my settings, so i started downloading all my apps and applying the settings again.
when the phone was around 18% of charge, i plugged the phone and nothing happened.
tried another phone with stock android in the same charger and everything went well fine so, i turned off the
SGS4 and plugged it again.
it vibrated once, (like it was about to start charging) but nothing happened. a few seconds later, it vibrated again, and that went on and on...
turned back on the phone in recovery, i noticed that TeamWin was replaced by ClockWorkMod recovery.
wiped Dalvik, cache and did a factory reset. turned phone back off and plugged the charger.
now it vibrates once, the screen lights up, a drained battery shows up and nothing happens, (just like it froze there).
the phone is not taking charge and its dead jim. doesn't have enough charge to power on.
havent tried anything else.
any clues or workarounds?
please and thanks.
EDIT: downgraded to CM10.2.1 and installed chronic kernel for CM10.2, problem solved.

suddenly boot-loop, maybe after phone fell

ok
i've been usign whatsapp and suddenly my phone went into bootloop,
tried to enter fastboot, recovery
but he keeps on boot-looping after 2-3 sec of showing the fastboot-recovery icon.
i tried disconnecting the phone-battery-motherboard-etc, but he keeps going boot-loop, showing the first load screen, black screen, and so on and forth
any suggestions? never occured to me before , only after unsuccessful flashing, but like this? this is really weird.
i have a custom rom yes, but with it for a few months already , 0 problems.
p.s my phone fell on the floor few days ago, but had no problem since whatsoever
any clues on how to solve this?
i can't even get to flash via fastboot/recovery because it restarts when im there..
what could be the problem? the only thing pops into my head is that the restart key is pressed all the time, but is it possible?
I had the same problem, crazy thing. I couldn't even enter orange fox, got to the loading screen and got another reboot. I pressed power button fast many times and then worked. The power button seemed to be ok. The only thing that i had recently changed was the EAS version of the predator kernel. It may not make sense but i went back to HMP and now it's fine.
well! it worked lol
what is HMP? a kernel?
A type of kernel, the common one. Now i know that was not the reason!
Hello
I have the same problem as you and if someone has a solution, I will be very grateful !
I can use my phone but if I push to the power Button, it bootloop.
