So I recently installed an unofficial Lineage OS Rom and replaced the charging port of my Samsung SM-N9005. Had some battery troubles here and there, but this new issue take the cake. On the lock screen, it says it is charging to full in 17 HOURS
I have no idea what could have caused this since it only recently happened with the same , and even launching Lineage OS in safe mode will still show 17 hours to charge.
Will changing to a stable Rom help? (Running 14.1-20170426-UNOFFICIAL-hlte)
Flash your stock rom and test .
Battery calibration takea a week or so of use.

I remember trying Resurrection Remix (I know it is not the same ROM) and when I connected the phone, it always showed "Charging slowly" on the lock screen and it charged normally which made me think it was highly inaccurate. I'd say you might have a similar issue as to where it won't actually take the full 17 hours to charge, it just says that because it is inaccurate. I'd try another ROM instead or try this ROM out for a couple of days and see if it ACTUALLY does take 17 hours to charge.
Edit: Oh and by the way, replacing the charging port is not always a solution to an original problem. What I mean by that is that I once had a phone and I replaced the charging port and right away I noticed it didn't charge as it used to charge, it went way slower. Port replacement is very tricky and if done incorrectly, your phone won't charge as it needs to.
I had to replace the charging port as the bottom half of my phone dropped in water, if not it would never charge. Thanks for your help, I'll try out your suggestions!

With the Synergy Kernal, does the phone charge significantly quicker ?
Thanks
i am using the below mod in Resurrection Remix ROM with Xenial Kernel for fast charging.

Hello, I have got a Note 3 N9005 with android 5.1.1 Blisspop v4.0.3 Nightly ROM installed. Now I don't know if it's just coincidence or so but my batterynlife is just terrible since I flashed a new ROM. I already own this phone for a year btw so that could also be the case. I just took it of the charger and then I checked and it said it would last for 2 HOURS! I have been going for about 20 mins now and it already dropped 20%. I bought a new battery, but that is just worse (I did read that you have to use and charge a new battery a few times and it would get better). My battery has no bulge. Is it the battery that's bad or the ROM and should I then flash back to stock firmware?
Wow, wait, let me get my crystal ball...

Most AOSP Roms are overclocked up to 2.7 -2.8GhZ. (Normal Stock clock speed is 2,3Ghz)
Use any Kernel tool from Playstore like Kernel Audiutor to change this to 2.,3 Ghz (I was also wondering but since i found out that AOSP based ROM are overclocked on note 3 I imdetialy changed back to Nornal Clockspeed)
Afte this your device should be cooler and you batterylife also longer...

Apart of what already have replied you, you could also try downloading any battery monitor app to try guessing if it's an app or it's the system itself who is draining your battery. In case it's any app, the solution is easy, try reinstalling it, if it's not, then you should try making wipes and reinstalling the rom or try another rom.
Hope this can help you.
What were you doing with the phone in the 20 minutes? Something is definitely wrong if its drained that quick. Can you post battery status and wake locks.

Hey guys,
I have an S3 Neo since 8 months, it was all good, but now i started to face a problem, a big one.
Whenever i charge my phone and i use it, for all.the day the battery is good, but when the percentage reaches around (38%-43%) the phone's screen starts doing some strange waves (flickering) then it turns off, and it won't boot up unless i plug it to the charger and it indicates that the battery is 0% (fully discharged). I tried to replace battery 2 times, but it's always the same, i tried that "Quick Start" Battery gauge chip reset. But no result.
So.... anyone knows what I'm really facing?
Hi i had the same problem... U must buy new battery your battery is dead.
I did bought two batteries, problem persists !
An example of what I'm facing
This is an example, now I'm trying to calibrate the phone by only charging to 50%
My screen also flickers, but only when it's below 10 percent. Maybe it's a kernel issue. Is see you have a custom rom, have you tried switching kernels?
GT-I9301I rom: cm 12.1 (nikola)
Use an app called Battery Calibration to calibrate your battery. You can download it throught Play Store.
But tell us: What ROM are you using? Whar kernel?

I tried many roms and kernels and all of them have the same issue with my device. I have already tried battery calibration, not working :/ . Now i found that it won't happen if i don't charge my phone more than 60%. And battery is holding more (2h30min sot with 45%) so I'm gonna grab a kmesg and attach here.
Yeah I had that problem to when I was in motion rom but it was fixed when I restored it to stock can any one tell's us why????

I had the same problem 6 months ago! I decided to buy an original S3 battery (the difference is that it's made in Korea, NOT in China) and now I always have 4h+ screen on time with the stock rom and s3ven kernel!

Hi Guys,
Been following XDA for a long time but never had to post anything as everything had already had an answer to my question.
I know there are a lot of threads about battery drain but for some reason, everything I have tried has seemed to help minimally.
Here's the rundown.
I have a Galaxy S5 G900I running G900F custom rom, Resurrection Remix 5.6.7 Marshmallow.
Previously I was running the lollipop version of Resurrection Remix and battery was fine.
The phone is over a year old, but I have tested the battery with another S5 my wife has and it is perfectly fine. It charges fairly quick when the power is off on the phone and still fast enough while it's in use. Even if I am to open up a game on my wife's phone with my battery or hers, the battery continues to charge slowly while in use.
On my phone however, switched with both batteries, the drain is astronomical. I tested playing a game and I would lose practically 1% of battery per minute while in game.
What I have done so far is, installed Xposed, I have Amplify running following various guides which has slowed down the drain of my battery, I have installed Greenify which has also helped. I've turned off the scanning of wifi and bluetooth in locations. I have tried going back to stock rom which does help but it doesn't help me figure out the issue I want to fix.
I have tried switching power points in the house, changing usb cables, changing chargers, all of which do not help my phone with either battery, but on my wives it is fine.
I have also set CPU profiles in Rom Toolbox to lower CPU usage in idle, lower than 15% battery, while on charge. As of today, even while using the phone, I have limited the max CPU usage.
Prior to this latest updated Rom with Marshmallow, I could use my phone and have it plugged into my USB 3 on my PC and it would charge while in use unless playing a game or using a high demanding application, in which case, it would slowly drain. If in a power point adapter it would charge regardless.
Now, even in idle, on my PC, it drains while charging, and charges extremely slow on a power point.
I have searched for over a week trying to find any sort of guide or help with this problem and I have certainly minimized some of the drain but this is ridiculous.
If anyone has any idea's on what it could be, please let me know. I have tried cleaning all the dirt and gunk out of the charging point, the only thing I haven't done is pull apart the phone to see if its a hardware problem (Which I am starting to think it might be.)
have u tried with another usb cable?

Yes, I have tried various USB cables on various USB chargers, even non USB chargers I had laying around. And as I said, I have also switched the batteries into my wife's phone and they charge fine there.
The problems only started once I upgraded to Marshmallow.
It also persists when the phone is switched off and charging. It's just slow.

Do they persist while on L? Could possibly be a conveniently timed hardware failure.

Your default CPU 1900.0 MHz (8-core) this now running at 2400 MHz, you are lucky that the phone did not permanent damaged up to date.
Find S5 G900I compatible ROM and not what ever ROM.
try to factory reset your device 1st. if its only started after MM update then must be software issue.

Done that. Had a previous ROM installed and the battery was better. But I want to know how to fix the issue, I don't want to revert back to older software.
I know its possible because even with the same rom installed, before I bricked it and forgot to back it up, I had better battery life.

Go back to stock lollipop and check if u still have the problem

It seemed that you did that unsuccessfully, OR you battery gets old and needs replacement.
At about 400 charging times, the battery this is now at 80% capacity or less.
In my S5 I have permanently activated basic power saving mode, this clocks the CPU always lower than Max.
The phone seems happy, and I am too.
By using one Qualcomm App I discovered how low is low with basic power saving mode on.
Flash a custom Kernel and you can set it more or less as low as you like
S5 this is a very complicate device, I am trusting only Samsung about it.
If this was an old tablet with out ROM support from anywhere, in this case I would.

Having trouble finding a custom ROM that's a stable build that runs on S5 and on Marshmallow. Would you happen to know any in particular that I could use?
consider buying a new battery

But you could just flash a compatible custom Kernel and then have control over the CPU/GPU clocks

This one looks like it supports stock TW 6.0.1 MM for the G900F
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...kernel-phoenix-kernel-v7-marshmallow-t3340407
But like always, do your own research before flashing
EDIT - Actually it looks like the dev has left out OCing from this Kernel, not sure about downclocking/under volting - maybe request it in his thread

How can you say it doesn't work on that ROM only ?
It's discussed a lot time before,
- use "Ampere" app to know current rate, and temperature of your device.
- temperature shouldn't cross ~44℃.

Check if it works without modifications like ex kernel. As mentioned before: it's never a rom problem.
nope hal-3 has fast charging. however invicta os at starting has problems with fast charging this okay at the beginning. give it sometime to rest. and check the heating problem. check if your phone is above 45 or near it. fast charging stops at that temp. also could you tell how you restored apps to your device, cuz my device would heat a lot and fast charging would not happen, iff i restored it via flashable twrp made with the help of titanium backup
Look
I downloaded Turbotoast and it's recognizing the fast charger but the cellphone doesn't charge rapidly

Let your battery run down to 20-30% and then try again. You're seeing slow charging as your battery is nearly full in those screenshots. Thus, your device is tricklecharging to protect the battery and your device. That's normal behaviour across many batteries/devices with batteries.
Drain your device battery and use Ampere to monitor charging. If Turbocharging doesn't kick in (and/or you don't see 2000+ mA in Ampere), report back with screenshots and details.

It may be due to excessive heating of the device
Sometimes it'll die on my kind of quick without me realizing and when I plug it back in to charge, it'll sit and 0% and not charge, and the ETA for a full charge is N/A. Anyone have similiar issues? Would that be ROM/kernel related, or strictly hardware based?
I bought LE X720 for my wife.
I tried different versions of the original rom and with all the phone's battery was not charging normally.
I did downgrade to CN-5.8.017S, the problem continued. Then i upgraded to version CN-5.8.018S, the problem continued.
Now I'm using a version EUI 5.8.21s LEX720/727 USA. The charging problem continues and battery drain very quickly.
Every time I reboot the phone before plugging it in to the charger.
Do not buy this phone model - LE ZL1 X720. It is a great disappointment.
well, its not a constant thing for me, just sometimes. And the reason i got the x720 over the usa x727 version was the 6gb ram vs 4gb ram I believe was the difference. It also has dual SIm but ive no need for that. I wish I wouldve gotten the 128gb version but either I couldn't find it at the time, or it was more than i wanted to spend at the time. Still, for ~$250 im quite happy with this phone. Except I didnt order a hard case, thinking the case for my S3 would fit it, but the camera spot is slightly different.
This issue is known for at least a year, just don't use LeEco provided charger and cable and buy some better ones and you won't have that problem anymore.
For a better battery life don't use stock ROM, flash some custom ROM like Lineage 15.1. I get almost 10 hours of SOT on LOS15.1.

Absolutely!
The problem is not from charger and cable. I trying the charger and cable from my phone - ZUK Z2, the battery is continuing to not charging. After rebooting, the battery is charging normally.
Also i do not have charging issues with Android Oreo based custom roms. But with custom roms a battery drain very quickly.
With stock ROM i get about 2 days battery life, if phone not used too much.
Compared to the ZUK Z2, this ZL1 X720 is a huge disappointment.
Use the *Battery calibration* root app from google and follow the instructions after flashing your new rom.
Im using the Pie rom by mcintosh and average roughly 7-9 hours sot with 40% brightness and location on with moderate use
im happy with the phone for the most part, and the S3. I wonder if LeEco is still going to be making new phone models with that whole in debt thing i read about. Btw, do any of yall know what the Performance rating of your ram is in the Memory section? i attached a screenshot
