New user, I apologize if this is posted in the wrong section.
I need some advice. I've been trying to obtain a replacement shattershield lens for my Droid Turbo 2 for a few months now. Every time I check the Motorola website they are out of stock. I've contacted Motorola support and they have no updates for me and keep telling me to buy it from a third party seller, which I have yet to find anyone else that sells the Shattershield replacement kit. Motorola specifically told me to go to Verizon for a replacement shattershield and Verizon came back with one of their "Flexiable glass screen protectors" which isn't the same thing.
Does anyone know of anywhere else to buy these Shattershield lenses? Motorola support is useless. Verizon support is useless.
I'm trying to replace it because mine has become so scratched that its getting hard to see the screen clearly. If I ever do finally get the shattershield replaced, I'll be getting an actual screen protector to go on top of it for sure.
I'm getting tossed around in a loop beteween Motorola and Verizon support. What can I do from here?
Thanks!
Motorola has really dropped the ball on these phones haven't they...

Yeah, other ppl. are also looking for this replacement without any luck, I saw on lenovo community forum same questions and no answer.
In a german forum, they said this is exactly the same:
goo .gl /hgHnD8 (I had to put in some space, because no links are allowed)
I bought two of these. but I i have no idea if they are the same, because my Display has no scratches hehe

Got these on Ali express they're pretty close but I'm sure they're fake, anyway, should do the job, has the Verizon logo though

Thanks for the links.
I bought one to try, unfortunately it's not a shattershield replacement exactly, it's just a usual screen protector cut exactly to the shape of a replacement. You could try it, but I wouldn't recommend replacing the old shattershield (like I did, as my current one had scratches). It also degraded the clarity of the screen a bit.
Great if you just want a screen protector film and you don't want it to show though.
Here they are!

I'm from germany and wanted to replace the lens of my Moto X Force.
I could find any sellers of the original replacement lens, so I just called the german Motorola Support.
They sent me an original shattershield lens for free. It arrived yesterday.
I received mine few months ago also for free from UK Moto support.[emoji4]

So a few days ago my phone fell off of my bed and landed screen down on the wood floor and shattered the screen. I simply went to motorola.com , clicked on get help->returns and repairs. and selected request a repair. I filled out the form and selected damaged display, and put a brief explanation of what happened. With in an hour i received an email saying that since it was my first issue they would replace the phone for free! Within another hour i received another email with a code to use on moto maker. I created a new phone and used the code. They even said reply to this email with your order number, and we will make sure to put rush shipping on it! They also sent me an email with a fedex label to send in the broken one. Crazy awesome customer service. Im not sure if this has been posted before but, I had to share it!
Wow that's very nice from Motorola

Motorola provides this "one time replacement" as a service to anyone who has purchased a Moto X through MotoMaker.

yes but a little trickier, but there is a process to get it replaced.
Happened to me as well, Moto has earned my business!
Did not seem that this is possible at least for the developer edition. The support teams are different for the MotoMaker and most of the Motorola Mobility staff for the DE were difficult to work with, recommending several times to "contact AT&T" as if they would help replace my off contract DE.

How long did you have the phone? Does this only apply 30 days after purchase?

I've had it almost 6 months.
My wife is getting her Moto X replaced like this as well. She dropped hers, it landed on the back with a case on (the official clear case from Moto) and it broke the LED panel and digitizer, though the screen wasn't actually broke. I was very impressed with Moto's service here and the ease the process has been. We ordered her a new one today and will be sending the broken one back tomorrow. Good guy Moto!

Yeah my wife broke her's as well. Same deal. Sadly I already ordered a DevEd to replace it. I like to keep a spare not 2 spares.

That's sorta what this whole thread is about. Apparently Motorola offers 1 free replacement for cracked screens. Who knew ? Not me before plunking down the cash on a DevEd.
Anyone try this with one ordered from AT&T

Yeah I know, I meant did you try to return the deved that you bought, and instead try to get a replacement for your broken one? is it too late? or maybe you could get your broken one replaced and sell one of them..
I believe it's only for moto x's from moto maker. Just chatted with Moto agent and would have to pay for a repair on at&t

Oh sorry. No, I didn't try to return the DevED. I'll sell it outright or keep it as my spare and sell my S4.
But couldn't you not send the broken phone? Anyway, this is very cool considering that not.too many companies do that ( I know HTC does that for the M8 )

Do you think if my current non-DE moto x broke that they would let me get a dev edition if I paid the difference between the two?

What if you got the moto x from motomaker but got it with a two year plan from at&t? Will motorola still replace the phone if the screen breaks?
Hi this isn't a software issue. But just a question
I recently broke my i337 lcd and the screen broke inside. At first half the screen was lit but than it went completely dark. So i sent it to samsung and they said the price to fi it was "$161.84". I cant pay that much. I might as well get a moto G 2nd gen, least it has an unlocked bootloader lol. But anyways does anyone know where i can get the cheapest lcd replacement. Or anyone here has a spare used one that works for me to buy off of. Idc as long as it works. Ebays a bit expensive as well.

Your Galaxy S4 does not use an LCD screen, it uses an OLED or 'AMOLED' screen. These are expensive to manufacture. Unfortunately, that's just the way it is.

Phone is in a good protective case, fake protective plastic was left on camera glass and glass still shattered without dropping. Wtf!!!
Was it manufactured in November or December?
Seems to be a known problem. I wonder if warranty covers it. I'm considering purchase of one, but this problem is one thing that has been holding me back.

I'm sending it back to amazon tomorrow for a full refund. I told them it was defective and I don't want another
Mine also shattered...Not from me doing anything.
I tried sending it in to LG, they refused to replace it for free, telling me it would cost $84.00 and you have to pay for shipping, plus be out your phone for 2 weeks.
If anyone is able to find the glass or a way to replace it yourself, PLEASE let me know!!

Sad.
It's pretty will known this is a problem
This pretty much voids my interest in the phone.
My LG V20 camera glass also broke for no reason. Left original plastic intact. LG Australia not interested and want to charge to fix. JB HiFi refunded me in store. I feel this is a fundamental weakness in design of this phone. Shame as the phone was good over all. I bought Pixel XL instead. Not as many bells n whistles but UI experience and build quality far superior. Beware of LG V20. LG will not support you!!!
Just want to bump this because screw LG. My camera glass shattered for no reason in the first 48 hours. Not only are they pretending like this isn't an issue, they dont even offer a replacement part so you could DIY fix it.
I forgot and when I went back to order a case they were all sold out. If you are in my shoes, how to protect your OP5 until cases come out or in stock? I'm sure it comes with a preinstalled screen protector at least, maybe leave the plastic on the back? All ideas are welcome
i had the welcome package in my cart but it said out of stock. I checked out and it only charged me for the phone. I figured it would just charge me later when it was back in stock (it was $60 cheaper than it shows now). It only shows I ordered a phone
I'm looking for a case but not having luck. I guess I'm just going to be extra cautious
I talked with an agent from oneplus... obviously the phone just went out buddies xd and it doesn't have accessories yet
They are going to request them soon
I ordered just the phone... don't plan to use any case...
same here
I ordered a Slickwraps leather skin. It should be here by the time I get the phone.

Have you used them before, does it cover the camera hump? Also, they are on pre-order how do you know you'll get it in time?

I've used them on several devices. They usually don't provide a lip for the camera lenses. I lay my phones down on a soft surface so scratching is not an issue. When I placed the order it said that they were in stock so I'm just assuming. I'll keep you updated

Before it removes it from your cart, there was a window telling you that it wasn't available, and that it would be removed if you continued, with the with-bundle price crossed out, and the reduced price listed.
I did add it to my car .... When checking out it was sold out ?

This, atleast for now. I'll definitely get a screen protector and a tpu-case for party's and when traveling.
Same. Got phone but cases sold out. I'm sure 3rd party will be available soon.
I had an otterbox with my old motorola defy for years. i ordered yesterday the oneplus but screenprotector and case from otterbox was out of stock. So i ordered the otterbox at otterbox.de . This shop has an option for country selection.
But i still need the screenprotector. The lack of cases and screenprotectors are a pitty btw.
I'll use the Spigen Rugged Armor case, it's the best in my opinion.
Same, but I was able to order an Orzly clear case on eEbay UK.

The OnePlus 5 comes with a factory preinstalled screen protector, check the "What in the box?" section of the OP5 specifications web page. I have an inexpensive ($9USD) Catman soft back cover with gold trim ordered but it won't arrive in time for my phone so I likely leave the back protection strip on the phone and baby it for a while. The price is cheap enough that I may buy something else if more desirable covers become available and in stock before it arrives. These cases are actually clear except for various top and bottom trim colors and accents around the camera, flash and side button holes. Some of the pre-launch "leaked" OP5 pictures showed these cases.
I kept refreshing and trying again. I eventually got the welcome package too

I closed the pop-up with the cross on the top right corner and re clicked on "Purchase", I had to do it 3 times and I got it.
I ordered the 8/128 with the carbon bumber case. I see a ship date of today but I did hit the cancel button last night but it doesn't do anything. No confirmation no sorry your order can't be cancelled. Oh well at this point if it comes it comes. To be honest I'm just not impressed with it and don't think I'll be able to ditch my S8. The overwhelming thing I like about Oneplus is the community but it is summer now and I don't have as much time to root and play with my toy, lol. If it comes I'll take it for a test ride and see how I like it. Maybe keep it as a spare but the Essential is also coming as well as the Pixel 2 by LG which I have a feeling will have a little G6 heritage.

tempered glass like the one out of stock or just a thin foil? I would prefer the first but expect the last, like it was on all the 5s seen in a lot of review videos
I post here because lenovo support doesn't answer and i'm still under warranty.
I bought the phone 1 month ago and received it 2 weeks ago.
I discovered there is a "scratch" on the screen, but its only visible when screen is on and it looks like some light-weird crack inside the screen.
With this, the letters/icons that appear in the same side of the screen as the scratch looks kinda pixelated, its very jard to notice, but i see it.
Does lenovo/motorola support will fix this for free? I haven't dropped my device and i haven't unlocked bootloader.
Also, how do i prove them it has real warranty? The man that sold me the device said it has 6 month warranty, but i jave no paper that proves so.. does motorola knows somehow if it is under warranty?

You can ask the person from whom you bought the phone to give you the bill and you should definitely get someone from Motorola/Lenovo service take a look at that.
