SM-T585 Failing to Flash Stock Rom - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Questions & Answers

Hello. my tablet was playing up failing to connect to google play tried everything but nothing worked so i thought i would flash a new stock rom from samMobile.
everything flashes fine with odin but as soon as it gets to the system part it flashes hidden.img then fails. I thought nothing off it so i tried again.
but again as soon as it gets to the hidden.img it fails again. so i thought maybe its just the rom. So i downloaded another rom from same device from samMobile but everytime i try the roms i get to the hidden.img then fails i will leave attachments with this. See if we can get this fixed.
I fixed it by using Samsung smart switch software - seems like SamMobile is giving out faulty software

SOLVED! Can't flash new firmware i9505

Hi guys,
I've wrote another thread with no response. Lemme ask like this:
i9505 with 4.3, want to flash to 4.4.2. Problem:
I can't flash any firmware, not by KIES 3 or ODIN. Both give me errors, KIES 3 saying S4 is disconnected and ODIN failing everytime, with and without pit file. Switched USB ports, KNOX is 0x0, System Status CUSTOM? Never touched it (branded).
Phone is working fine in the meantime.
Any help?
Anybody? At least tell me I can reflash the phone again...

Which firmware was the latest on your phone and which one did you try to flash?
Your phone has got an branding, right? Do you want to debrand it or just to update it? Did you want to update with a branded firmware?
What does Odin exactly day in the log?
More information please, then we can help you better.

Thanks DarkerTimes,
My firmware is i9505XXUEMK9 ver 4.3 Vodafone Spain branded.
I just want to update it to official Vodafone Spain 4.4.2 KitKat , OTA doesn't work anymore because it says my device is modified (which it isn't, at least by me?)
I can't use ODIN anymore because the phone doesn't enter download mode when I press down+menu then power, it used to a few days back tho. This is weird. So I can't tell you what ODIN says, although I remember saying something about bad partition thus I've tried flashing it when download mode worked with and without pit file without results. ODIN always told me FAIL!
Also, SDcard or system file is getting weird these days, it rescans whole library of music and Winamp crashes everytime. Reinstalled it and now it seems to work... storage chips going south?

Hi ,
step by step
Download mode , you said I press down+menu then powe I do it the 3 of them at the same time
Before using Odin kill all kies processes ( task manager), make sure no one is running in the background....
Odin troubleshooting: If Odin accidentally gives you "fail" try the following:
- Repeat procedure.
- Make sure that all actions of Kies are disabled from task manager.
- Change usb port.
- Try another usb cable (make sure it is the original).
- Try another Odin version.
- Uninstall and re-install driver.
- Use pit file.
- Try another computer.
from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
try with a different tar file , try for example the PHE unbranded version of firmware for Spain
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=GT-I9505&pcode=PHE#firmware
Regarding your sdcard ...maybe so much flashing left orphan files all over a good flashing should clear that problem
Hi MAX 404
thanks for your reply
I don't have KIES installed now, I've removed it after a couple fails last week... I've tried everything the guide says beforehand, I've flashed a previously owned S2 a lot of times before. Cable is samsung original, tried different USB ports and my laptop with no success.
Also, how can do a good flashing to clear that SD behaviour? Lost here.
SOLVED! It seems I have a ton of USB ports wrecked EXCEPT one. This worked so far so good.

Unable to flash stock firmware

Hello, my SM-G935A is rooted, and I have 2 issues with it. Firstly, I'm unable to receive texts or phone calls (I can send them), and I've tried a factory reset and I even got a new SIM, but nothing worked. I think if I flash stock firmware, it might fix the issue. Second problem, when I go into download mode and select my AP in Odin and press start, my phone gets an error and Odin freezes at Initialization.
Any help would be appreciated. I would prefer to fix the texting issue, as I don't want to return the phone to ATT. In either case, the Odin issue needs to be fixed
I'm having a similar issue. This afternoon, 2 apps threw errors and closed. I rebooted, which apparently was the wrong thing to do. The reboot stalled on the AT&T logo and stayed that way for 5 min - the unit became very hot & the power button did not respond, even while holding it down. I got into recovery, cleared the cache and factory reset, then rebooted. The unit came back up and started reinstalling everything. I took it back down into the download status and attempted to reload 935x via Odin, only to stall at "initialzation" [sic] as you did. I got out of that after waiting for some sort of response. SuperSU was still in my apps as was Root Checker. Root Checker indicates the system is rooted. SuperSU indicates it needs the binary updated. BusyBox and TiBu indicate they cannot find root. I deleted all the root apps and tried reinstalling root via adb which completed successfully, but the same outcome with all the root apps. So I'm not sure if I'm still really rooted as Root Checker claims, or not.
EDIT: I just saw that I have 2 "Knox Settings" apps. Clicking on either returns, "Unfortunately, Container Agent2 has stopped."
use the odin from the stock firmware thread to flash it again. if it fails you can flash the u firmware and then the stock again. then you have to use a different odin if you want to flash the root api file the one you flash the firmware with wont work. also there is help in one of the threads about fixing the volte problem so you dont have to turn it off to get calls. i didnt have to do it as using the odin i mentioned fixed it for me when i came from the u firmware.

I was having the exact same problem you had with Odin. It seemed I was able to flash stock firmware using this version of Odin: http://www.mediafire.com/download/2t2sjqxtogbkafk/odin_3.12.3.rar

did you have any problems with the u version of the s7 edge firmware, like the fingerprint scanner not responding? i am on that version and cant get any odin version or any version of s7 edge g935a firmware to flash, tried unrooting and was forced to use the U version of the s7 edge firmware, everything works except the fingerprint scanner, cant get back to full stock firmware, need help!
im having the exact same problem, when i put my phone into download mode and flash the stock at&t firmware, Odin get stuck in "initialization" and my phone screen displays and error message.
Same stuff was happening to me, I went back to stock and took the update. When your phone stops working as an actual phone, it's time to roll it back.
I played with it for a week and my phone was so freaking hot (with hot weather) equals a wait and see if this gets more stable in the near future. I did use the Odin 3.12.3 mentioned by King James III. Honestly, I did so many things to get it back to stock I forget what actually worked (it was the wee hours of the morning and I was spent). Don't give up guys, it will and can work.
edit: It may be as simple as not right clicking Odin and running it as Administrator.

I used Odin_v3.12.3_Patched_SHA256 to flash the 935U Firmware then used Odin3_v3.11.2 to flash the June Firmware release.

Firmware & Files Source

Hi there,
I would like to flash my G928G ZTO "entirely".... I mean, everything, including firmware, CSC, pit and modem... where would I find the original files? Tried getting the firmware out of sammobile but it is not working for me (although I am premium there is no download link and their support sucks). Are there any other sources for these files?
Thanks in advance!
Good start would be
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
Thank you, in fact, I was able to solve my problem with sammobile and download the most recent firmware. Flashed it through odin but it didin't solve the problem.
During the initial setup, the phone hang and rebooted. The time it takes for it to hang and reboot varies: sometimes it reboots from the boot animation, sometimes I get to the phone initial setup...
Does any1 know where I can find the other files (pit, CSC, modem) for it? The idea is to do a complete flash of everything to try to solve this issue...
I initially started thinking that my phone hardware would be at fault... but that would be to much of a coincidence: everything was fine until I dirty flashed Audax 8.1...
any further ideas?

Go to this link http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model for official Samsung fimwares or download Samfirm v0.3.6 from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647 and then check this tutorial on how to use it. http://techtrickz.com/how-to/download-samsung-stock-firmware-directly-from-samsung-servers-using-samfirm-tool-guide/
Also, you can connect your device to your computer and use adb logcat (assuming you have the drivers installed and adb installed) to know more about what exactly is causing you this problem. You can get the drivers for your phone by installing samsung kies (or it's equivalent) for your phone, but make sure that kies (or equivalent) is not running before using adb. You can get adb and fastboot from here https://androidmtk.com/download-minimal-adb-and-fastboot-tool, just install the latest version.
Cheers
hangs after flashing usualy happen when you dont wipe. You sure you wiped?

SamMobile firmware flashing fails (SM-G530H) (Please Help)

Greetings.
I tried to flash the original firmware of my SM-G530H (4.4.4) using odin ( Odin3_v3.10.6 ) but every time it fails right at the beginning of the process.
I download the firmware (brazil/claro) from the Sammobile website, did everything that this tutorial told me to (androidmtk.com/flash-samsung-stock-rom-using-odin) but it fails every
time.
It is not a connection problem because odin recognizes the device and the process starts, but it fails right after the beginning.
Does anyone know what might be happening?
Thank you!
I forgot to mention that the phone is still working. I want to flash the stock rom because I rooted and the battery seems to be having some issues after that.
My problems started when I did this root (http://forum.xda-developers.com/gra...lly-rooted-galaxy-grand-prime-t2935607/page40).
I noticed it changed the baseband of my phone from to HVCU to HCXU, and according to what i have understood from my searches that's why i keep receiving the error message "Error: Secure Check Fail : aboot" on the phone every time I try to flash the original firmware (http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/42103/G530HVCU1ANL4_G530HZTA1ANL4_ZTA/).
Does anyone know how can I fix it?
Thank you very much! :good:

Help - Stuck in Infinite Bootloop

Hi, I have an old N8010 16GB which was bought from John Lewis in the UK (an official retailer). The tablet has worked great, however recently it screwed up and got stuck in a bootloop.
So I decided to see if I can try to recover it and that's why I am here. I tried Odin and started putting what I thought is the correct firmware on it, however all the firmwares I try all PASS and seem to install correctly but the device still has a infinte bootloop (it crashes and reboots after the Samsung logo shows). I noticed the PIT file says -8G on one of the firmware files - I guess this means it is for the 8GB version which is clearly not going to work on my 16GB version?
Please can someone guide me on what firmware to download and what to try as I have been trying for 5 hours now and cannot find any way to get it out of this boot loop, I have no problems at all installing firmware as it passes every time with Odin. I am using Odin3 v3.10.7
I'm not sure but I think I need this firmware: N8010XXUCMG1

Hey, I had the same problem recently and I fixed it using the stock firmware (can't post the link due to forum rules) and using a patched Odin 3.14.1 3B.
Hope it helps
Lets hope the OP has fixed the problem in the last 10 months .Unknown as he never came back .
