TWRP Backup Tool - Moto G4 Plus Questions & Answers

Hi!
Anyone tested https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/tool-twrp-backup-restore-tool-pc-t3572241 with the G4/G4 Plus?
If yes, does restore works with our TWRP versions?

Your question is answered in the tool thread itself:
1. Only works with TWRP v3.1.0+
2. I can't provide support for issues related to TWRP. This is just a simple tool to save you some typing, most of the work is done by TWRP itself.

I wanted to know whether it worked or not if I wiped tho OS previously (no OS installed) or if it needs to be backed up while already having stock firmware installed.
Sorry if this is a noob question.

No OS is required. Note it's just the Stock Rom as it is, no customization and root.
Hi, thanks for sharing the file.
I just want to know " Is there any custom recovery (twrp recovery) installed in this backup?"
Thank You.

I guess I was using the wrong version of twrp. When downloading the recovery from that website everything worked fine.
I've got this same problem, but flashing that universal TWRP build didn't work :/
Flash codeworkx twrp 8.0 version. The official twrp, has this issue with oreo builds.

TWRP for MiA1

Hi All, what's the best Twrp version for our device?
I've tried CosmicDan, MohanCM and Official Twrp.
What's the best one in terms of backup / restore and less issues?
Please comment.

Yeah but I couldn't install LR Pie from it ?
There are some threads on the different versions of TWRP if you care to search. Or read the Q&A thread, I asked the same question there.

[Moto G6 Plus] Update stock ROM?

Greetings to the community
I have the Moto G6 PLUS with Android 8 build OPW113-89 reteu, root with Magisk (thread)
I also installed Xposed and some modules (Gravitybox and other)
Now I would like to update the rom. I downloaded the latest available of Oreo and Pie (from this thread; link reteu folder)
Is it possible to flash without deleting apps and data? I searched the forum but found nothing.
TIA
Cesco67
Ps
Sorry for my english, I use Google translate
Probably not recommended. Clean flash is always better.

It's possible, but might bring issues, if you're rooted.

I thought I would do this:
- uninstall magisk
- flash the ROM
- reinstall magisk
Is the procedure correct?
I just don't know how to flash the ROM without deleting apps and data. Tips?
Using TWRP would it work?
TIA

Does anyone have a copy of TWRP 3.3.0? Please share.

The official mirror is offline and I do not have a backup, I was using OrangeFOX but it is below TWRP. Thanks for share

Yes
I tried to dd the twrp above and it didn't work for my ZC551KL (Laser 3). So I reverted to the half-baked twrp version (3.1.1). I said half-baked because ever since data partition is forced encrypted, TWRP can't backup data anymore.
Could anyone know how to change my current twrp to 3.3.x with updated decrypt execs ? I know how to unpack img.
Thank you.
