Hey everyone, think its a bit sad that we dont got our own phone section since ShotX/7i and the regular 7 doesnt share the same cpu architecture so forgive me for cluttering down but just wanted to try and help our fellow honor comrades
The files to do this is taken from the chinese huawei forum (http://club.huawei.com/thread-5761110-1-1.html) and thus I take no credit for the files, im merely making a english guide with chinese files to hopefully spur some development.
The root itself was made for Honor 7i which is the asian market version (I believe?) but ShotX is the same phone but for international market (with LTE 800Mhz band, not sure if there are any other differences) and root was performed and confirmed working by me on my ShotX with Lollipop 5.1.1/B130 firmware so no guarantes if it will work on other firmwares. Im also not responsible if you brick your phone or it catches on fire etc.
First you need to unlock your bootloader
and to do so you will first need to turn on the "allow bootloader oem unlock" so enter settings, about phone, and then press build number 10 times to activate "developer mode".
Go back one step into main settings and the open developer settings, find and enable "allow bootloader oem unlock" (if you have fingerprint or any other code activated then it will ask you for that code) and while you are in here make sure to click "enable usb debugging" aswell.
You will also need a bootloader unlock code from huaweis site by filling out the necessary information on this page http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail
Product model: HUAWEI ATH-UL01 (settings->about phone->model number)
Product serial number: EGQ7Nxxxxxxxxxxx (settings->about phone->Status->Serial number)
Product IMEI: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (*#06# IMEI1 or settings->about phone->Status->IMEI1)
Product ID: xxxxxxxx (*#*#1357946#*#*)
So once youve got the code, make sure to write it down on a safe place, next you need adb toolkit. May I recommend Minimal ADB? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
Now when you´ve come this far, remember that as soon as you unlock your bootloader, the phone will factory reset and you will loose any data and settings made unless you make a backup before
Insert usb data cable into pc and phone, open command prompt and be in your adb installation directory.
Start with typing "adb devices" to see if your phone is detected and make sure to check on your phone when it asks for permission that you allow your pc. I was running windows 10 x64 when I rooted my phone and I didnt need any driver but your mileage may vary if on w7 or w8. Remember to use "adb kill-server" if you experience issues when trying to connect phone with adb.
If phone is detected then you should get something like
Code:
EGQ7Nxxxxxxxxxxx device
Then all is good and you can type
adb reboot bootloader
Now to check if phone still is with us you type
fastboot devices and you should see something like
Code:
8b0dd496 fastboot
If you are still with us then type fastboot oem unlock xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx where the xxxx´es represent your bootloader unlock code which you should have retrieved earlier from huaweis site.
To confirm that your bootloader is unlocked, simply type fastboot oem get-bootinfo and you should see
Code:
(bootloader) Bootloader Lock State: UNLOCKED
Congrats! Now youre ready to root the phone
If you recently unlocked bootloader then you need to activate developer settings again and turn on usb debugging aswell.
Download the files below

https://mega.nz/#!9hQi2I7A!JX121sJ2vChMuxrx1puxf-L1rP9LSPaJW-JnqvEAzIg Root
Put the EMUI3.1 Android 5.1 ROOT补丁(不要双清不要解压.zip file somewhere on your phones memory storage where you can find it.
Unzip the 荣耀7i TWRP recovery.zip and open it up and then you press the second button which says TWRP REC and it should flash twrp. Power off phone and then press vol+ and power where you keep pressing vol+ but let go off power as soon as screen is lit and you should be in recovery in a bit. If you still got the default huawei recovery then redo the procedure (I pressed TWRP REC at first but didnt see any twrp installed so I then just pressed REC just to be disapointed again but 3rd time with TWRP REC it worked so not sure what goes on but just so you know if you also fail to get TWRP installed)
Once youre in twrp you will be greeted with chinese again but buttons are located on same spots so just compare it to a english twrp image https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TWRP#/media/File:TWRP_2.7.0.0.png
Just press top left button and select the root file you should have putted on your phone earlier and flash it, when its done just hold the physical power button to reset incase you´re unsure of the reboot button and you should be good to go
Grats on your rooted phone, after some cleanup (possible with root) this phone is flying like never before
Some highly recommended root apps
Rom toolbox lite, so you can flash roms/mods without knowing your way in the chinese twrp and uninstall apps etc
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.liberty.toolbox&hl=sv
Kernel adiutor, great for getting a bit more performance out of the phone by tweaking cpu and gpu speed
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grarak.kerneladiutor&hl=sv
And lastly the great snapdragon camera which is pretty fast and nice to use which you need to flash in twrp (or with rom toolbox)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64410821&postcount=44
Its for one+ x but it works as expected for our ShotX/7i aswell (Obvisually dont use this if youre on a regular Honor 7 device since it doesnt have snapdragon processor)
thank you very much , I'll be trying my XShot
Theres a translated twrp now for those that wants

Did you tried russian forums? 4pda or others, often they have good devs there for some devices, which are not supported here on XDA.
Anyone who can't get to bootloader unlock site after login. Follow this [GUIDE] :

Is there any solution for ShotX with android 6.0?
Please upload android 6.0.1 rooted room
Just bought this from Gearbest. It is unrooted. I don't have a "check for system updates" button in Settings,About phone.
1. Is there a way of enabling this or will OTA update happen automatically?
2. I have read about manually updating with the yotaphone flasher utility but some of the posts here are scaring me off. Has anyone successfully flashed the EU firmware onto this phone using the flasher?
Thanks
John
HI, I had the same with my phone from tinydeal.
You can update it manually, but prepare to lose all you data if you don't have it backed up in some way.
Also, you need to be sure that you are prepared to try again and mess around a little if it does not work. As far as i've read nobody has actually hardbricked the device by trying to flash it.
My advise would be to download the latest firware via the yotaflasher, whichever you like but rename the radio folder in the firmware folder in the yotaflasher folder so the radio part just stays the same, this worked for me.
then choose flash the firmware in the yotaflasher tool and when it asks to flash userdata, you better press yes, otherwise it will probably bootloop, but so this also means EVERYTHING on your device is deleted
Greets and good luck!

Thanks. I took the plunge and ran yotaflasher, downloaded the latest EU firmware and flashed the phone. It all went well, though after reboot there was a worrying 5 minutes as it stayed on the Yotaphone logo. Rebooted fine into lollipop and "about phone" now shows it as YD201. I didn't bother renaming the radio part of the firmware and, so far, it seems no worse or better than before flashing.
The system update option became available and it immediately downloaded the latest OTA update. All looks good so far.
I had contacted yotaphone support before I flashed the new firmware and they told me that as it was the Chinese version, there was no international support. I wonder if now it is showing as model yd201 whether I would get support ?

You don't need to put your phone into Android recovery mode to flash. Just hold power and volume down until your phone displays Downloading... Now run YotaFlasher on your PC to flash your phone with the firmware you like.
stuck after tried flash
I ran into trouble when trying to flash my new Yotaphone2: After the flash-process (really quick) the yotaflash-software asked if I wanted to flash user-partition also (or sometihng to that extent). I answered "no". Now the phone seems stuck, only showing "powered by android". I read all the posts, but could find no solution. Fastboot does not find the phone. I can not power it off using any buttons, so I cannot put in in the flash-mode.
Any ideas what I can do?

It's a common problem. Try this:
- Put your phone in download mode. Just keep holding power and volume down, it will get there eventually.
- Use the YotaFlash tool to flash the latest EU or RU firmware, whichever you like.
- After YotaFlash is finished your phone will reboot and still be in a bootloop
- Put your phone in download mode again. Just keep holding power and volume down.
- Now go into the command prompt on your computer and navigate to the YotaFlash folder (for me it is in C:\Program Files (x86)\yotaphone_flasher)
- Now type the following command with your phone still in download mode: fastboot flash -S 512M system firmware/system.img This will flash the failed system.img in multiple parts.
- After the flashing of the system partition is finished reboot your phone with the command: fastboot reboot
After this your phone will restart. It may take around 10 minutes to finish and if everything went right the Android unlock screen should appear.
Finally did work. Thanks a million! What helped was pushing power off and volume up, that brought up a menu where i could select to bring up "downloading" screen. You are the best, thank you!
What I learned today about being stuck in loops -
1. Bootloop - to exit a bootloop, press up volume and on button simultaneously to enter recovery mode. DO this until you arrive at the Android symbol, normal after 2 cycles, up to 2 minutes. You are then presented with a few options (select with on button), since you are flashing, normally you would go to bootloader mode "downloading" , then change the firmware (usually a zip) file.
This is method employed in the post just above.
2 The second is stuck at Yotaphone logo at beginning. Have you waited long enough ? Be patient, maybe it is still installing , allow 10 minutes before you try the following method . To break out of the stuck at Yotaphone logo, enter the bootloader mode , by pressing the on button and volume down button simultaneously. You cannot enter recovery mode as in point 1 above. This method will restart the phone. After the reboot starts, quickly hold down the volume up (only) button before the short "buzz" then you will enter recovery mode. You only have a few seconds to do this. In recovery mode you can delete the cache , user data or reboot but not enter bootloader mode.
still stuck in

still stuck in "waiting for device" and my phone is still in dowlaoding mood. please help.
To exit downloading mode , press the yotaphone ”on/off" button for about 30 seconds . It will restart in normal mode.
You have incorrect "adb composite" drivers and your phone is not communicating with your PC. Try to get rid of any bad adb drivers in device manager on your PC.

go to yotaflasher folder (usually under programme files) and ensure that the individual files of the firmware you want to install are there and not zipped!

Hi well I have reached this point too but how to I ascertain the address to enter? Yes, yotaphone_flasher in in \Program Files but I'm told that C:\Program is not a valid command... Sorry I know this is basic PC computing 101 but after hours of trawling the net I am none the wiser. I am running XP. How can I see what the file path would be? Apparently there is a helpful utility to bring up the file path in the command prompt but of course it has been deleted because XP is no longer supported...

Did you try "cd Program Files"?
Make sure you are in the root directory C:\ (type "cd.." to go one level back through the hierarchy)
then type "cd Program Files\yotaphone_flasher" (if that is your folder path)

Hey,
Facing the exact issue of not being able to see the update option!
Planing to take the plunge my self but am a bit skeptical about the lollipop update. On facebook yotaphone page ppl have been complaining a lot about the lollipop update slowing down the phone and lot many other issues.
If I could get a little review from your side it would be very help full.
If there are any issues?
If so what are they?
Are they worth taking?
should I stick to kitkat?
ETC

Same for me. Battery is good and I have no problem.
I was trying to update with LGUP application for firmware update but didn't success, so I removed the USB cable and pressed Volume down and power button to restart. But it went straight into Firmware Update and LGUP application can't find the port.
So, my phone is stucking in Firmware update screen, please help me how to restore the firmware and get out from Firmware Update screen, many thanks and greatly appreciated.
Hold the power button until you get a black screen. Download LG Mobile Support tool and the LG Drivers. Plug USB In and then hold the Power + Volume Up key. On your screen, click Upgrade Recovery. From there, you can do a factory reset through download mode of your phone.
Enter download mode and connect the phone in the PC. Download LG brige and open it. When you are inside the programe you will see a window of Software update enter here and there is an option that is for bad installation otas (to reinstall and correct errors). Use this and I think this will handle.
Another option I think is using LG Up you will see your device in download mode. Try to enter download mode and see if this works also.
Thanks both - I ran into a similar situation. I pulled down both the 11a and 14a KDZ files, and used UpperCut and LGUP to flash first the 14a and then the 11a image. Unfortunately in both cases after LGUP does its thing, I'm getting the LG logo, followed by fastboot screen.
I cannot reboot to get past it, and I cannot flash recovery (it says the boot loader is locked). I cannot flash the Unlock.bin from LG because apparently the KDZ re-enabled the software lock prohibiting bootloader unlocks.
So I'm suck with a phone that will only boot into fastboot, stock recovery or into download mode, and I cannot figure out how to get back to something functional. I've tried reflashing with LGUP - that doesn't work. And the LG Bridge "Update Error Recovery" option gives an error "Connect your mobile device to the USB Port" even though it is, and the LG USB drivers are installed.
Would appreciate any pointers someone could offer.

I have the same issue - I was on Lineage os and flashing the OTA update caused bootloop to recovery. So I wanted to flash back to stock using LGUP and 14A. I did that before without issues.
This time though all installed fine but after reboot the phone immediately goes to fastboot, exactly as described above. I just spend several hours trying to fix it but with no results. The LG Bridge won't recognize the phone no matter what I do in Windows (tried 3 different PCs). On a Mac it will start connecting and will end up saying "you need to enable MTP connection".
From what I garther the stock rom flashed fine - the factory reset works, even shows "erasing data", the LG UP recognizes the phone as 14A (I tried 11A, 13A too - seems to install fine but goes immediately to fastboot after reboot).
The only thing I realized I did different when flashing the stock rom with LGUP was not using the original LG USB cable. But reflashing with original cable makes not difference now - still going to fastboot.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Have you guys been able to do the Upgrade recovery in the LG support tool? Did it work? It starts fine for me but after downloading the recovery file I always get and error, see the screenshot.
I was able to grab the kdz file and tried to flash it with LGUP but still the same thing. It seems like it flashes fine but after reboot it immediately goes to fastboot

Sadly I'm in the same boat as well. I'll pull some of their error messages I've gotten with LG Flash Tool this afternoon. I've tried 2014 and 2017. Both to no success.
I suspect it may be something with the /misc partition. Im going out on a limb, but I'm guessing that the AOSP and Lineage ROMs may touch misc. That partition may have some key identifiers for the LG tools. And the KDZ doesn't have a misc partition embedded inside it.
I was hoping the kdz file I was able to grab from the Lg Support tool would be different from regular stock rom 14a that is available around the internet but it appears to be exactly the same file (based on the file size). My original hope was that the file would support "Refurbish" option in the LGUP tool but it only works with "Upgrade".
I wonder if the "Refurbish" option would fix this and re-flashed all partitions - if only we could find a kdz file that would work with the refurbish option. So far all files I tried (11a, 13a, 14a) only support the upgrade option.
Thanks for all of your helps, I used LGUP and WondersMobile application on the computer and LGUP can not see the port. I did un-install the WondersMobile and LGUP can see the port and finally upgraded to latest firmware.

I too am having same problem. I've tried all the images from 11A to 14A, all of them flash with no errors on LGUP and every time LGUP detects the phone as having the last version flashed. Unfortunately, the phone also boots to fastboot every time. Nothing else to add to your descriptions at this time I'm afraid...

I am absolutely positive my problem is at least in part due to a messed up /misc partition though. @gqo actually described what I did pretty thoroughly in his thread, albeit in a G5. Post #9 has the fix but it didn't work for me.
I've also stumbled upon a menu under the Firmware Update screen that I had never seen before and cannot fin any mention to... Would any of you guys know what it is for? It reads something like:
Code:
** SELECT MENU **
** Select : Power Key(Long) **
** Move : Power Key(Short) **
-> MA-USB(WIFI) DL
POWER OFF
PHONE INFO
BACK
Okay, I figured it out. The menu, at least the first option, appears to be for Wi-Fi firmware update. I wonder what file the phone actually downloads... And if it would be able to fix our phones. The only unprotected network I had in hand was a mobile hotspot in my not-so-LTE Nexus 5, so I got as far the firmware download start but didn't risk it on such a slow and unpredictable network. On top of that my Nexus 5 has also gotten pretty good at bootlooping, that's why I got this G6 in the first place. If anyone out there has a reliable unprotected network and nerves of steel it could be interesting to see if the outcome of this update is different from the LGUP one.
How do you access this menu?
What I started working on yesterday is trying to build a image file for the Qualcomm Flash Image loader and see if I can flash the phone using this tool... But I have never used this tool before, right now it does not detect my phone - I need to work on that + see if I can correctly build the image file from kdz. I found some youtube step by step tutorials so we will see. I will post update on the progress tonight or tomorrow.

I'm not sure if there's a better way to do it, but I access it by removing the usb cable after I successfully get in Download Mode. Then I'm not sure if there's any specific key combo, I've been randomly pressing the power and the volume down buttons and at some point I get into that menu. In the menu though, for some reason, I think I can only select an option if I long press both the volume down and power buttons. The "POWER OFF" option has come in handy because so far is the only way I can actually turn my phone off. The "PHONE INFO" hasn't worked for me yet. The menu also reacts when you add/remove the microsd card... I wonder if it can be used for something other than a WiFi firmware upgrade. I haven't had the chance to connect the phone to a computer to see how the device is recognized, if at all.
And that image you're working on sounds like a neat idea, I wish I could help but I'm afraid I wouldn't have the skill. I may be able to test though. Anyway, Godspeed!

I'll play around a bit and see if I can land on this menu. At this point I'll try anything. I'm on an iPhone until I get this fixed - so I'm motivated!
I can setup an open guest network off my main wi-fi this evening and see what I can find out.
EDIT Sorry, I tried playing around here, but I couldn't figure out how to get back into the the menu you uncovered. If you could give some instructions on how to do it, I'm happy to give it a shot on my device.
I was able to access the menu today...what worked for me was at the firmware screen unplug the usb cable and then press volume down and power button three times quickly. I tried to connect to a wifi and it does not really do anything. I think it just establishes wifi connection but it does not download anything on it's own - it's waiting for another connection.
Also I got stuck with building the image file from kdz, it has no information on partitions. At this point I decided to ship to LG for a quote and will see how much they will ask for a reflash.
I got as far as selecting a network and getting some sort of a download start screen, but I interrupted it right away so I wasn't sure the download would actually go through... Apparently it does not. If this menu has some sort of flashing capabilities though, it might be worth checking how secure it is. If someone can get it to download and flash a modded file perhaps there could be a chance of flashing a custom recovery or something... I'm thinking about those guys that have an unlockable bootloader (which we ironically also have now).
Anyway, all of this goes well beyond my skill so I followed your example and submitted a repair service request to LG. It'll take quite long but shipping is free, so I figured I'd give it a try. I'm assuming this is an easy fix with the right software tools, so I hope LG doesn't overcharge for it. I'm even half hoping they'll do it under the limited warranty... If I recall correctly unlocking the bootloader doesn't immediately void all warranty, there's room to prove the bootloader was never actually unlocked. And after all LG does say that once unlocked, it cannot be undone and our phones are, in fact, running stock firmware and have a locked bootloader.
Update: My phone was received today by LG. In LG's Track Repair page, the status briefly showed as Undergoing Diagnostic but quickly moved to Repair In Progress, it's current status. Given that LG was supposed to contact me in case the repair was not covered by the limited warranty, meaning that an extra fee would've to be paid, I'm assuming the phone will be fixed (if possible, that is) free of charge. I will update you guys again soon, but if anyone out there is still struggling with this issue I'd recommend considering sending the phone to LG.
I have the exact same problem. Please keep us in the loop of what happens to your phone with LG
My phone has been received by LG for this issue on 9/26. It quickly moved through diagnostic to "repair in progress" on the first day plus showed ETA back to me in 6 business days. Ever since that it's stuck in that mode, no update or contact from LG. I check the status every day - every day it says the same - ETA 6 business days. It's been a week and half now with no update. I kind of expected it's going to take 2-3 weeks but annoyed that they say 6 days ETA and then you don't hear from anyone for almost 2 weeks with no change in status.
Update #2: The status finally moved to Shipped To Customer. I haven't been contacted by LG yet, so I guess the phone could've been shipped fixed as much as it could've been shipped as is for being unfixable. Either way, I wasn't and most likely won't be charged. FedEx hasn't got an ETA for the delivery, but I'll let you guys know as soon as I get my phone back.
Edit: Got an e-mail from LG. It reads something like:
Defect: Software failure
Payment Type: NOT APPLICABLE
Repair Results: S/W upgrade (download)
Repair Cost: $ 0.00
Warranty Status: In Warranty
Tax: $ 0.00
Total: $ 0.00
I guess I got away with it, I hope you guys do too.

Hi,
A2017G
Started with marshmallow,
Unlocked bootloader
attempted to install Slim7
seemed to work but with some possible errors, (wouldn't sync with google... retrospect I should have looked elsewhere before...)
attempted in install stock rom
using
ZTE_A2017GV1.2.0B04_BootStack_by_tron1.zip
ZTE_A2017GV1.2.0B04_Stock_System_by_tron1.zip
which wouldn't boot
So I tried reinstall Slim7
then stock again,
then, like the noob that I am, I removed twrp with
ZTE_A2017GV1.2.0B04_Full_Stock_Reverter_by_tron1.zip
which installs stock recovery
so, now I have a stock rom that won't boot,
an unlocked bootloader
and stock recovery
Not sure what to do from here
thanks in advance for any assistance.
I can abd sideload and update from SD card, but everything I have fails signature verification.
edit: so frustrating trying to find that 1 zip

Just use MiFlash, that one's guaranteed to work. Read my DFU unbrick guide to know how to use it. Just skip the part where you have to disassemble the phone, since you can get to EDL mode by (with the phone off and the USB cable connected to the PC) holding both volume buttons and inserting the USB-C cable to the phone.
I did read your guide, was, hoping to avoid dismantling it...
I tried pressing all 3 buttons.
Am I understanding the procedure correctly:
[phone switched off] + usb-C cable connected to PC only
MiFlash running at this point??
Hold both volume keys in and in insert Cable to Phone
at this point is the phone supposed to switch on?
At no point am I supposed to press the power button?
fyi: I will try different combinations, is great to have a solution, thank you.
Ah.... ok... so, the phone will display nothing, rely on the sound of PC and/or the device manager check and/or hit refresh on miflash
Fyi to anyone, if you have axon7toolkit installed and thus can't install a second version of MiFlash, open up the toolkit and hit 7 (unlock bootloader) to fire up MiFlash... or just go to C:\XiaoMi\XiaoMiFlash
the FULL_EDL file I have produces a couldn't find script Error when loading into MiFlash
so far when attempting to flash all zips
I have started MiFlash with admin
unzipped FULL_EDL file to a folder in root C:\ and ensured there are no spaces in address.
Every time / Every file produces couldn't find script error when loaded into MiFlash
when I attempt to flash the file it says cannot receive hello packet and then times out with an error
Tried disabling anti-virus/firewall, still same error
upgraded MiFlash to 2017.4.24.0 ( older 2016 is included with axon7toolkit), this removes the couldn't find script error, but still not receiving a hello packet, gunna fiddle with the phone as I'm pretty sure the error is coming from there
YES!
rebooted phone, turned off, restarted into EDL, flashed the stock rom from zte site... is in chinese... but it works. Thank you Thank you
so adventure over, after all that I am back to 6.0.1...

I got it from here: http://www.ztedevice.com/support
selected:- United Kingdom > Mobile Phone > Axon 7
it offers a file "AXON 7(ZTE A2017G) SD card software package(328540B2634ZTE A2017GV1.0.0B11)"
which hints at being compatible with A2017G... but is A2017V and is chinese, although you can change the language in settings there is still plenty here and there, plus chinese bloatware
and No, I didn't get cell signal.
I've gone back to Marshmellow, I will try again, didn't think it would be so different/difficult... Although wow at MiFlash.
FFS!!!! Relocked bootloader and bricked it!!! there should be a warning!
you gotta laugh,
I am a bit livid, I know the guides come with disclaimers, however, you'd think it would be an obvious important warning to make... DO NOT RELOCK YOUR PHONE.

... after I finally got it working again (thanks for the assist), I thought relocking it was just making it secure again. I been rooting/unrooting and swapping out roms since the galaxy s2, who'd think you can't unlock and relock... I do think there should be warnings as it is too easy a mistake to make... lmao stop doing dumb stuff you start first
My phone is insured so I'm not overly fussed, but others will be less fortunate.

Mistake,whit adb tools...
So i wanted to create a key mapping for android over my android game using my xbox one controller but all the apps that allow it require rooting. So i quickly came here to see if it was rootable and surely my model was listed. LG k20 Plus MP260, So i go and download adb tap my build number, do the usb debugging, allow oem unlocking, downloaded the Lg drivers, moved the recovery.img to the adb file folder directory, moved the super user Zip file and the no-verity-opt-encrypt-5.1.Zip to the internal storage of the phone. Then run Shift+ Right click adb reboot bootloader using Windows powershell command line and i'm in fastboot mode (I can also just power the phone off and hold the volume down button and plug usb into phone to get into it). So i use fastboot devices to make sure the computer recognized my device and it does. Note: (the bootloader is already unlocked) Then i use fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and it flashes. what happens next is well. I use fastboot reboot and well i get "Your device software cannot be checked for corruption lock the bootloader" and below that it say "PRESS THE POWER KEY TO CONTINUE" i press the power key and it boots up normally. In the video's i've watched they say it will boot into the system twrp and my phone is not doing this. I'm willing to let someone team view me and skype me so we can work this out together and i'm even willing to pay 20$ if we can get this done. Please message me asap
I have the exact same problem. Did you ever figure it out?
Bumping an oldish thread, because this still exists. Custom recovery isn't very useful when you can't get to it without reflashing it every time.

Did you find a solution? I've been fighting my LG K20 plus metroPCS for over 2 weeks. It won't go into download mode or recovery. In recovery it skips over the reset page. I think the phone is possessed lol.
