I had the problem and for me it was due to colder weather. I ended up having to send it to Moto under warranty and they sent me a replacement; no more issues!

My Screen is Touching Itself

Hi all,
About 2 weeks ago I noticed the bottom left of my screen would activate by itself repeatedly. This mostly seemed to happen when I was trying to type something. It carried on for a while so tonight I flashed a romkitchen rom (2.3.3) (I was on 2.2.1 before), thinking it might be a bug in the system somewhere. Well the problem is still there and I;ve discovered it's always that same corner of the screen that does it no matter what orientation I have it in. I can't even sign into the market at the moment because it makes it impossible to type and the screen ends up freezing until I press the home screen.
Is there anything this could be other than a hardware issue? I did a full factory reset etc during the flashing process.
If I need to send it back would I need to flash it back to stock? I bout my phone from O2 in the UK, where can I get the correct firmware? samfirmware has loads but how do I know which one I need?
Thanks in advance!
Sounds like a hardware issue. Did it ever get rained on or something? Do you use a screen protector?
You might want to edit the topic title, although it is quite funny. Read it and think a bit.
ROFLMAO
That is by far the funniest thread title I've seen on here yet
It does sound like a hardware issue though.
Hehe....nice title

No water damage or anything. I do use a screen protector but it looks flawless in the affected corner

It happens at random. Sometimes it works fine. Not related to being plugged in though
I know someone that had the same issue, though it was with the Vibrant (not i9000m). He sent it to samsung, but it still has the same problem, though not as frequent. I haven't seen him in a while so I'm not sure if he ever got it resolved...

Just to eliminate all possible outside influences, take the protector off and clean the screen really well - and see if it still does it. If it does, then bring it in and try your best to be convincing

I'll see how it goes with the protector off. I think my screen is failing though as now on occassion the screen will completely freeze and I have to put it to sleep and wait a few minutes for it to start working again.
Can anyone point me in the direction of carrier specific stock firmwares? I can only find stock android ones.
Thanks,

this is so true
I've had the same problem. Unlocked SGS on Orange UK. The problem was on/off for a while but eventually got so bad I couldn't use the phone, removing screen protector made no difference.
I stuck an old Froyo build on and took it into carphonewarehouse, they sent it off and it was fixed in their repair centre. No problems since and that was 4 months ago.
Not sure how you would go about getting the operators rom on there but I'm sure you can mess around with Kies to get it to download the one you want.

Think that's what I'll have to do then. Hadn't thought of using Kies, thanks for that. I'll whack a stock 2.1 rom on there and see if it will update to 2.2 through kies.

Thanks, it's a bit unclear which one is what. I'll look into it a bit more.
P.S. how does the multi-quote work on here. When I select the threads I want to quote and press post reply nothing happens

Multitouch test

I've always noticed that sometimes I misclick things when I'm browsing on the Focus.. but it wasn't until today that I tested it out using the Multi Touch test through Diagnosis.
When I touch some spot, it seems to go a bit to the left and up.
Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks.

Afaik, no. And MS says no. It might be just you pressing differently (hopefully). If not, this is a warranty issue.
Thanks for the answer, guess I'll have to live with it or something. I bought this phone off somebody and I don't have the receipt.. which still technically shouldn't matter, since this phone hasn't even been out for a year, meaning it should still be under warranty. Any idea how it would work?

Unfortunately, no, as I live in EU and I have a Focus bought in US I hope I won't have to find out
Technically, it should work. You can try and go in an AT&T store and just say you have this issue with the phone, and yes, you're the owner. See then what they ask.

S pen falling out

Anyone else with the same problem?
Any easy fix?
Thanks

Mine is actually quite stiff and secure, used it a lot as well, main fix would be bring it back as a warranty issue.

Touch screen issue gone after recent update?

Anybody that had it now notice its gone after the recent otas that were released?
Could you explain a bit what touch screen issue did you mean, as I didn't notice any issue with the touchscreen even before the update?

Probably best to track this issue, and provide your feedback over on this thread:

Yeah - looks like I am the only one that has weighed-in so far.
Check over at AC
http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-g2/
I believe other's have responded either at the main forum or within the VZW forum.
There's certainly no way of having any conclusive answer just yet, as it can take hours, days, weeks for this issue to surface. I am hopeful though.

[Q] screen issues very common?

Planning to buy a g2 but read some people have issues with the screen with touchscreen issues. How common is this issue? Is this fixable by software patch?

Very common. Do a search. Cause is still unknown.
thx for the reply.. is it independent on model version? I want to buy the korean version... not sure I will get one now considering it's pricey and prone to screen issues
It happens to every version. I had mine fixed a few months ago and it's happening again.

seems people say turning it off and restarting solve the issue

apparently an update fixed it??
edit: looking at the thread I can see a lot of people still having the issue.. unfortunately Lg G2 is a no for me although it seemed to be the perfect phone for me... going to look at the galaxy s4 now. Thx for the replies
I never had a problem and when I did have a screen problem it was because I had a JDI one and I fixed it. Its an awesome phone (Better than S4) so you should really try playing with it. Rooting it is also another option and I dont think custom roms give you the touchscreen problem.

No, this issue appears in plenty of custom ROMs.

Since when I had my phone repaired and they had to change out my prox sensor, screen, and digitizer, I really think it's a hardware issue.
Just had to have my D801 replaced by T-Mobile for an issue where the screen was picking up two finger touches instead of just one in a small area in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. Warranty replacement was easy but I wish this wasn't an issue.. I love this phone.

I was going to do that with TMO, but they wanted $19.99 "processing fee" or something ridiculous. On top of that, I'd get a refurb device. I ended up going through LG - they had my phone for about two weeks.
Like I said though, the issue is back..
as i was going to buy the korean version without warranty... I think it is not a wise decision to do that seeing so many issues with the lg g2 screen... I am disappointed as this phone looked like my ideal phone with ideal screen size (not too big, not too small) with a good camera... but I don't want to take a risk on the screen issue.. I have the htc desire and it has issue with multitouch and it is very frustrating (can't even rotate on gmaps) ... I don't want this again lol

That's weird. I only had to pay $5 processing. The guy said because I was on the JUMP program. Also I got like super expedited shipping for free. I suppose I may have gotten a refurb but a refurb I better than a broken phone. I just hope this doesn't happen again...
