Issues Upgrading to Nougat (via HTC sync manager) - Verizon HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Hello All,
When i try to update to 2.41.605.18 (from 1.85.605.9) through HTC Sync Manager, i keep getting the "Battery too low to continue" warning, even if the battery is at 100%. Phone is Verizon branded HTC 10 (HTC6545LVW)
Has anyone else experienced this?
I have tried different computers, cables, Uninstalling/reinstalling sync manager and drivers, fully discharging and recharging the battery, and a factory reset on the phone with no luck.
I have also tried checking for the update in settings>system update but it shows no updates available.
Any help is appreciated.

BIOS update failure, stuck in serial connection mode

I attempted to update the BIOS on my HP iPAQ hw6940 mobile messenger by downloading and installing the update from hp.com. I discovered during the process that the USB cable I was using was not properly powered and the update failed. The device remains in a serial connection mode and cannot be reset or restarted. The screen is dimmed and displays “serial v.g.39”. Even after solving the USB power issue, the BIOS updater was unable to connect to the device. Syncing through MSDC also fails. Is there a way I can restore connectivity to the device so that I can complete the BIOS update?

Hi, i used to have the same problem........ keep following full restall step again. Restart comp, reconnect Ipaq, 4 buttons your ipaq, make sure all connectons is secure before trying the installaton again. Hp hw6900 series have a "fail safe" rom unlike newer models that why you get the the display Hp logo, V G 0.39, etc. ALL you have to do is reinstall the rom......... if it does not work again, take a 6-24 hrs rest, drain the battery, take out the battery from the ipaq. after 24hrs, place everything back to normal and retry. keep trying till you get the loading........... Happy if you see the loading, dont touch anything til its complete this time.....
enjoy cracking your ipaq... be patience with this ipaq, it has a weak heart
Thanks.
I managed to successfully restore the BIOS via USB by downloading and installing the update from HP.com on my Vista machine. It didn't work from an XP machine, which is what others including HP told me I needed.
Interesting that the 24 hr break and battery drain actually seemed to have had an effect. A weak heart indeed, but not a bad little device. I'm happy to have it back.
Thanks again.

[Q] HD2 WP7 NOT DETECTED by Zune or Windows

Hi guys sorry to post this but I've looked in over 5 threads and still no answer. My phone was working well just a couple of days ago. I was able to sync music and picture via Zune. But now Zune doesn't detect my phone. I tried going to device manager and updating the drivers as posted in other threads. But my phone doesn't show up anywhere. Not by Zune or device manager. HELP!!!! I went as far as having to reset my computer to factory settings and still no luck... Any suggestions?
which windows you have?
if you have XP you must reinstall ActiveSync
if you have Vista/Win7 you must reinstall WMDC
I have vista and I've already reinstalled WMDC
does your phone charge when you plug it in?
Is the cable OK ? Try it on another PC . Even without drivers installed it should charge
Yes it charges and everything it's just undetectable... i was however able to flash Ice Cream Sandwich, and the same problem occurs. The phone doesn't show up the its plugged up to a computer it just charges. No switch to USB or USB debugging option. Just charging. Could this be that maybe some of the internal hardware is damaged?
is always possible hardware malfunction but in almost all case problem is in windows drivers in ActiveSync/WMDC)
What i would do is to re install Zune and see if the phone is detected.
(Completely uninstall your current Zune and drivers first)
If that doesn't work i'd go back to a stock WM6.5 ROM and WMDC
Good luck
I've recently experienced the behavior you've mentioned, with both an HD2 and an HD7. I had look at the device manager, and it turned out the phone drivers did not load properly (error code 31).
I would advise you to update the phone drivers (which you can find within the portable devices section) and let windows search automatically for the most appropriate drivers.
For your reference, you should have a look at the following KB: support.microsoft .com/kb/2410180

You may have to install HTC Sync.

[Q] Can't Connect to any PC/Possibility to go to stock without USB

Hi guys,
I have a massive problem.
I recently updated to 4.3 rooted etc, after a few days of not using my nexus 7 on the pc I wanted to flash a new rom.
Now my N7 is only shown as an "Unknown Device" in my Device Manager.
I tried to deinstall Drivers, install, everything, I tried every possibilty in Wug's toolkit, nothing worked. I also tried it on another Notebook where i have never connected any mobile device, same message and i'm not able to install the drivers.
I also tried several ports and cables(the original one included)
Here is the message:http://i.imgur.com/tgxOeZQ.jpg
Translation: The optimal driver software for your device is already installed.
After this I flashed back to 4.2.2 (downloaded the rom on my N7) while performing a normal factory reset, I can't wipe everything because then I am not able to flash anything.
So after flashing to 4.2.2 my N7 was shown as a portable device in my device-manager. I then turned on USB-Debugging to stock+unroot, it was then shown again as a Unknown device, in both modes, USB-Debugging turned Off and On.
So now my question, is there a solution to this? I searched for possibilites to get back to stock without USB but most of them were a bit sketchy or had dead links. Please help me (sorry for my bad english)
Edit:
I just the cable of my old Motorola Defy, and it randomly connects and disconnects(still shown as unknown), so basically I think it is possible that my USB plug is broken(it takes about 6 hours to load the battery which I think might be as well a reason for a broken USB plug).
But to send it back to Google I need to Stock Unroot first so here my problem is again!
greetings

[Q] LG G2 not recognized by WIndows after backup

Hello!
My LG G2 (D802, stock, unrooted, Android 4) never showed an OTA update to Android 5 - that's why I tried to find the update through LG PC Suite. Installed the software, connected my smartphone (the drivers installed OK and it was recognized rather fast), and it really showed that I could update to the next firmware version (Android 5). But I decided to make a backup first (also through LG PC Suite). At first, everything was OK, but after a while the backup program told me that the phone disconnected unexpectedly and asked to reconnect it. I did, but it was not recognized by computer (was only charging, "slow charging", to be precise). I restarted my PC, my phone - still no luck. I reinstalled the drivers and followed all the common advice found on forums, but still my phone was only charging from PC (choosing any connection option in its menu or checking USB debugging did nothing). I also tried to connect it to another PC (Win8 - the 1st one was Win7) - also only charging without even trying to install the drivers. That's why it seems to me, that the problem is on the smartphone side. But what could happen during the backup process? The phone is still charging - so mUSB port isn't "burnt" or something... What can I do to fix this? Please, help!

"USB connection mode" Greyed out

I purchased a Sony Xperia X Compact a while back and ever since the Oreo update the trouble began.
It drained the battery constantly and would not connect to any computer with any type of usb cable or adapters.
I contacted Sony and after 4 months of back and forth they told me that the phone is out of warranty and they cannot help.
I started looking into hardware issues, found not problems, replaced the phone port charger and battery (the battery was faulty and currently I'm waiting for another new one). While still using the old battery I did a factory reset, no help there.
I followed instruction on Sony website to unlock the phone and bootloader (worked with incomplete instructions) as I wanted to flash it, went through enabling developer options ... etc. Nothing I tried worked.
My plan is to install Nougat back or fix the Oreo and be able to connect to a computer using a USB anytime.
Two things I noticed in the phone:
Until last night, the bootloader was greyed out also, when I installed Quick Boot App. Now it magically became alive. It still wouldn't let me restart in fastboot mode and it says that request for superuser permission has been denied.
On another thread I read that if the bootloader is greyed out the bootloader is already unlocked. Is that correct?
The "USB Connectivity > USB connection mode" says "nothing connected" and I am literally connected to the computer as I type this.
I already tried many different cables, adapters and computers. Nothing worked.
Is there Any way to make things work for the USB and battery drain?
