Does your screen count as off with AOD when Quickcharging? - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

As we all know, the galaxy s8/s8+ doesn't do quick charging with the screen on, but does the always on display count as the screen being on, I don't have the phone yet or I would test, does anybody know?

Yes it does count as screen off and the device will fast charge.

Yes! AOD counts as "screen off"
Was the same with the S7.

Screen dims when it shouldn't

I have set my S4 up so that it runs at 100% display illumination when charging. No autobrightness.
What is bothering me know is that the screen dims to about 50% very quickly after I stop touching the display and jumps up to 100% while I touch it.
Toggling smart stay doesn't change anything. Smart stay on doesn't help even when I look at the display (though it should just prevent it from going off .. not from dimming if I understand correctly.
I would like to display to stay at 100% when charging .. or at least set dimming to "after 15 secs" or so.
What needs to be done?

I was reading about that and i found something about the chipset SnapDragon has an inside feature to adjust the screen brightness independently of the software (firmware on this case). Maybe you are watching that effect..

There is a small tool that fixes it: "Caffeine" .. obviously
Intelliscreen also does the trick .. and there is a timeout you can set (not sure if it messes up the timeout for regular use when not charging though).

Is not the solution because caffeine prevents from time up screen brightness but it doesn't prevent from cpu feature. Even if the screen is always wake up and the autobrightness is off, the brightness will be changed because the chipset.

Could this be related to heat? With the screen on and charging + what ever other task you have the S4 doing it may be the S600 is governing the screen to reduce heat... just a theory like.
I'm having the same problem too.
If i unlock the phone the screens dims to about minimum brightness.
I can touch the brightness bar to make it brighter and it stays that way for as long as i don't lock the phone
If i lock the phone and unlock it again the screen dims again?
Tried all different settings bur nothing helps...
Very annoying....
Yesterday i bought and installed lightflow to control my led indicator.
Just a minute ago i removed the app and voila! No more screen dimming!
Damn, really love that app but rather no led control than having my screen dimmed to the lowest possible brightness.

Screen turning on for no reason

My lock screen keeps turning on every few minutes, I don't have any notifications or any reason that I can see why it would be turning on. It just turns on to show met that it's turned on I guess. I get a flash of the light effect, then it turns off 1 or 2 seconds later. It happens every few minutes. Any idea?
Most likely quick glance. Do you have quick glance turned on under air gestures? Does it show a quick glance of notifications and time or is it the actual lockscreen

I have all of those sensor settings turned off, so that's not it. It's the actual lockscreen. I do see a glimpse of the light effect, it's like something is touching the screen to wake it up, but I know for a fact that nothing is touching the screen!
All of my settings are off besides wi-fi, mobile data, screen rotation, and sync.

Should the 6p turn on when pulled out of your pocket?

I wasn't able to find a solid answer on google. I have active display turned on. The 6p turns on if I pick it up off the desk (about 10-20% of the time though it doesn't turn on when picking it up). But if I have it in my pocket and pull it out, it never turns on. Is it supposed to turn on?
Yes the sneak view should come on when you make heavy moments on your phone.
Yes, Ambient Display will turn the screen on. at first it'll be in grayscale, but as soon as your finger touches the screen, it will be fully on waiting your input. you can turn ambient display off in settings if you no longer find that feature useful. I recommend turning on the LED Notification light if you prefer that over Ambient Display.

Anyway of making notification edge when the screen is off?

Like LED notificaion but not when the screen is on,
Only when the screen is off?
Look for Always On Edge on Play Store. Some users are finding it fills your stated need.

Samsung S10+ Proximity Sensor issue

I would like to tell you that it often happens when I pull the S10+ out of my pocket, so the display is not in "stand by" mode, it is not always on display, but it is slightly backlit. Classically, the display is black and shines only AOD. But when I pull it out of my pocket, instead of the classic AOD it shines for hours and even seconds and after them you can see the wallpaper of the locked display and it is slightly backlit. The display itself is dark, but it is slightly backlit and you can see the wallpaper. With the classic AOD, the display is completely black and I have set only hours, minutes, date and battery, and of course, the notification, if any. Does anyone know what it is, whether it can be turned off so that the display does not illuminate the pocket?
I have accidental touch protection on.
As far as I know proximity sensor is only accessible when you are in call, that's why other apps can't access it.
Samsung should remedy this. Because I always change the Always On setting in my pocket. Specifically - Rotation and Brightness Always On.
EDIT: It happens most when I tap wake-up.
