[HELP] stock g4 plus stuck in a infinite boot loop - Moto G4 Plus Questions & Answers

Hello People!
You always know everything =)
I have some experience changing/modding my phone, but I have in my hands now a moto g4 plus, in a infinite boot loop. The BIG problem is that it reset after a few seconds... even in bootloader menu, so I can't do anything because, I don't have the time... it is always boot looping over and over. No matter if I choose recovery / bootloader or any other option....
It is a standard moto g4 plus, 6 month old, no custom roms or anything....
Any help??
thanks!!!

I seem to be having the same exact problem. Have you found a solution?

@imotmon try to hold power button for 2 minutes to power off. Then try to power on again and see if bootloop is still present. You have warranty? Use it :good: it could be also a faulty battery or board problem.

it will be great if you can help me understand what happened that the phone landed up in such a situation... that will help in understanding that what exactly went wrong!

[Q] HELP! My Tab 7.7 can't boot!

Anybody knows what's wrong and how do I solve it? Here's the entire story (if it helps):
I went to Play and updated my apps. I press and held the power button and selected "restart". (I restart my device regularly) However, after shutting down, it does not boot at all and no matter how many times I press the power button it just wouldn't boot up!
I tried charging it too. Nothing happens even after plugging in.

Can you get to the boot loader, if so, try to wipe data from the recovery within the boot loader.
Or else leave the battery to drain fully , this will solve your problem and the tab will boot.
This happened to me couple of weeks ago and draining the battery solved this issue.

May I know how do I get to the bootloader? I can't even allow the battery to drain. The problem is it is not even starting at all. I pressed the power button a million times and NOTHING happens at all, the screen didn't even turn on.

You can get to the boot loader by pressing power button + volume down at the same time.
try it.

Nope. I wish it did.
Try to hold the power button in about 4 or 5 seconds. I doubt it'll do anything. It sounds like there's a problem with power button or hardware.
I had a thrive 7 before I got my gtab 7.7 and my first one I exchanged because of a problem identical to yours. It was very sketchy to power on.
Exchange or warranty if you can unless someone else has any ideas

Only alternative left to leave it till battery drains, if you can remember the battery percentage before this happens, otherwise i am out of solutions.
A service center would be an alternative choice.

[Q] Galaxy S4 vibrates to death

Hey guys
I have the following problem with my Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505
Yesterday i was just playing around with my phone and suddenly it got a few laggs
It was stuck for about 10 seconds and then it was working again
I thougth this would be not that big deal and recovered back to stock rom coming from 4.3 AOSP ROM
A few minutes later my phone stuck againg and vibrated the whole time and wouldn't stop
It didn't react on any button pressing so i took the battery out
From this time on it seems like hard-bricked.
I can press the power button as long as i like to, but the phone doesn't even react
Then i plugged it to charge the phone.. Suddenly i was able to boot up the phone, but after 30 seconds
it started vibrating again and i had to take out the battery again
Now It's completely dead and I don't know what to do because i have still custom-recovery installed
and flash counter not on '0'
Maybe someone can help me out
It sounds to me you got a faulty battery. So my first step would be to try a different battery.

[Q] GT-i9500 stuck on boot loop. goes into download mode but reboots. no recoveryu

Hey,
I've searched this forum on others but haven't found anyone who've had my problem.
I have an original GT-i9500 purchased a little over a year ago around the launch. The phone was rooted and had a custom ROM installed. (Crash ROM). I have installed the ROM about 3 months ago, and haven't fiddled with it recently. I've had CWM installed.
Yesterday I've noticed that the device went into boot loop all of the sudden. I haven't done anything unusual when it started boot looping.
I can see the Samsung logo for a couple of seconds, but then the screen turns off and the logo comes again. Loop. Trying to enter recovery mod (CWM) doesn't work. Phone keeps looping. Trying to access download mode does work partially. I can get to the screen where it says "Warning!!" and asks to click "volume up" to continue. But stays on that screen for a few seconds and then boots to the logo again. Happens whether I click "volume up" or don't.
I have no idea what caused this. But shortly before it started I did see that an app that uses wanam was updated (bubble UPNP) and there was some notification about it from wanam.
any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
You have eaither a malfuntioning power button, a faulty battery or some other hardware failure.
This is not a software problem.

I have exactly the same issue, tried plug in power supply, shows an empty battery icon with circle in the center, stays for a few seconds and screen goes blank. It repeat this process if i keep it plugged to the power supply.
Just an update in case anyone ever finds this thread and is experiencing the same symptoms. It was indeed a faulty power button. Having it replaced has solved the problem.
It was apparently stuck on "pressed" mode (not physically, i would've noticed that). Another indication for that was that putting in a battery would automatically turn the phone on.
i know it was before a few months back,
but anyway... i got the same issue too, but my phone was on stock rom without root.
this is random annoying issue...
as i understand from you guys, i will need to take the phone to a lab to fix this, bummer!
thank you any way...
same problem here..
just got this issue today.. cant go in download , cant go in recovery, wont boot...
i was using it just fine when it just turned off...

Faulty power buttons, faulty power buttons everywhere.
I fail to understand how samsung does this. This has been like the 500th stuck power button issue here.
Looks like we have to add it in the guide.

I've got my phone back from the repair service and it was indeed a failure of the power button electric circuit,
(i don't know exactly how to translate it correctly to English, but they say something about secondary electric circuit board)
anyway, it been replaced and the phone came back to live again
I got it fixed today..
I think it should be added as a major cause for bootloop, if you cant open recovery or go to download mode
at first i thought my phone was bricked but then after some hard searching i found out this thread and proceeded accordingly..
I opened up at the phone and checked the power button myself with my instruments.. then i took it to repair center and told them to replace the power button... simple as that.. cost me 9$

[Q] Boot loop - cannot access recovery or download mode

Hello, maybe this was posted a lot of times, I just wanna get a second opinion before getting this to the shop. My phone (GT-i9500) suddenly went on to boot loop. I cannot enter download mode nor recovery mode. When attempting to put on download mode, when it tells me to press volume up, nothing happens and it restarts again. I was partially able to boot to recovery but it only showed the TWRP splash page then it reboots again. Does this mean that I have a broken motherboard? Any suggestions?

Yes why not but if the battery is defective that will not fix it or help.
Did you try to go into recovery with the phone plug in to the charger? how it does behave?

Still the same. Sometimes it would show the battery icon but only for a split second.

Draining your battery is always bad. It will damage your battery.

Let us know how it goes
The exact same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. It happened exactly a year after I got my GT-I9500. Around midnight one weekend the phone had quite a bit of charge and was working fine. As I unlocked the screen to check a WhatsApp message, the phone suddenly shut down and entered a bootloop with the same symptoms as yours. I couldn't enter my stock recovery and download mode would only come up for a few seconds and it would re-enter the bootloop. I tried numerous battery pulls and made it loop over quite a bit and then gave up after an hour and left the battery out. Throughout the day I occasionally tried my luck to no avail. Maybe after 48 hours or less - a day without trying my luck included - since the initial incident, I carried it to the shop and as the employee put the battery in the phone I was baffled. The phone booted normally, no issues and has worked perfectly fine since then. She said sometimes our phones need a little rest.
I've also read that our model has had some battery problems like swelling. I noticed no swelling by the way. So my advice, leave the battery out for a day or two. My phone was not rooted at the time and was running stock TouchWiz Android 4.4.2. Good luck!

So I finally got it repaired, the guy replaced something, about the size of 2x1 mm. He said it was for the power button. He charged me around $10 which I think is not bad.

Hi Mate,
Great to know , glad it was something cheap and easy.

[GT-i9500] BOOTLOOP!

Hello
This is my first post here and I'd really appreciate advice in this matter.
I've spent the past couple of hours searching for an answer but nothing works or totally irrelevant results.
I have a problem where I'd rooted my phone with KingRoot, changed it to SuperSU successfully (restarted my phone several times since then and no issues)
I installed TWRP (only the app) from the Google Play store and that's as far as I got before I powered off my phone to cool down before attempting any installation of TWRP. Powered on my phone and I can't get past the Samsung logo.
Recovery won't come up, Download mode works but restarts itself and volume buttons do nothing to let me confirm download mode and so it's sending me in a loop. Samsung logo and restart again and again. I insert my battery and the first thing that happens is my phone goes on a mission, determined to power itself on only to Bootloop.
No, before anyone suggests it be a hardware issue, it's a brand new phone. There's nothing wrong with the buttons.
If anyone is going to point out the obvious in saying that I'm responsible for rooting my device, I'm aware of this. The rooting procedure was a one-click method which was successful and caused no boot issues after restarting the phone countless times.
Basically:
Bootloop
Can't access recovery
Can't get to Download mode without it getting back into the bootloop after 5 seconds or so. Volume buttons do nothing to confirm download mode.
USB debugging wasn't enabled before this Bootloop occurred
Do I have a paperweight or is there a way to salvage something from this?
The phone isn't supposed to power itself on after inserting the battery.
This behavior is only acceptable when the phone is plugged in while inserting the battery. But even so, the phone wouldn't try to boot up, it would just display the charging animation.
i had a similar problem where my phone would boot up to the white samsung logo as soon as i insert my battery. tirned out the power button was stuck. try gently knocking the power button onto the corner of a table or something with the battery pulled out. it might work for you if your problem is what i think it is.

Thank you for your response but would you like a video to prove that it is in fact attempting to boot up when inserting the battery?

I tested it on my device (I9505) and it doesn't boot up, it just turns on to display the charging animation. If I want it to boot up I have to hold the power button.
So, in conclusion, it must be your power button.
You can say the phone is new as much as you want, but there is a chance it came with a factory defect.
There might also be a possibility it is refurbished phone, which means it is pseudo-new.
