I've been out of the Android game for a few years, and just bought my first Samsung Galaxy phone (S8), but it's locked to Vodaphone and I'm on three. I called up a local phone repair shop to get it unlocked, they said they need to get an unlock from Samsung and will cost me £20. I was wondering if I could cut out the phone shop and just get the unlock code myself? I've tried googling for the last day or so but getting nowhere.
Thanks

hi folks, first post here. i tried to get my tbobile shadow unlocked by the site www.instantunlockcodes.com, and AFTER i paid the 49.99, a few hours went by and they emailed me back saying they couldnt unlock the phone.... wtf? so i have two options now, i can use another service (like imiecheck, or gsm father) or if any of you can unlock it, i will give you the login to the site, for the 50$ credit. its up to you. im starting to get a little pissed off about it though.

If you're still with T-Mobile or had an account with them, I'm sure you could get them to provide the Unlock Code.
I bought a used Shadow from eBay & the seller was kind enough to help me unlock the phone by calling T-Mobile & explaining to them that the phone needs to be used overseas with other GSM network for travelling purposes.
I got my Unlock Code for free in under three days.
Hope this helps.
Ya.. I got ripped off also, luckily it was only $7.00. Wireless unlocks.. beware..
I upgraded two lines with new shadows, one for my wire and one for my daughter. The wife found hers too complicated , so I called Tmo customer service and told them the truth. I asked them if they could unlock it for me, as my wife wanted to use her old phone... Two days later they sent me the unlock code.. now using my shadow flawlessly with the at&t network..
Instanunlockcodes.com is in ICELAND
The same thing just happened to me. Instantunlockcodes.com is a rip off.
I filled in the form and paid my money and about an hour or two later I got a message that they could not find an unlock code to work on my I335 Motorola.
About ten minutes later, my credit card company called and told me a fraudulent charge had been put against my card. I explained what I did and my credit card company told me that they are already on a fraud watch list.
They are also in Iceland. It was 2:30AM in Iceland when they charged my card so it is automated to just give you a runaround.
The only problem is, if they have my IMIE number, can they steal my phone number and charge against my phone account?
I bet there are Icelanders that are saying “STUPID AMERICANS” right now.
I sure do feel stupid.

P.P.S. Just to clarify, we have nothing to do with wirelessunlocking.com/wirelessunlocks.co.uk/.com/.net/
(Assuming that one of those is the site you are talking about.)
Hey guys, I'm wondering who has an unlocked X10 from Canada. I'm in Kingston, ON and I just got my X10 yesterday from Wireless Express. They're a certified Rogers dealer but when I got my phone, I couldn't unlock it. I have tried a lot of the unlocking services including mobileincanada.com, cellunlocker.net, some ebay dealer and several others but none of them work. All of the said they my IMEI wasn't in their database so they couldn't give me the unlocking code. So I'm wondering if there is anyone from Canada who has there phone unlocked could give me some advice. I'd like to know what store you bought the phone from cuz I think the problem is with my phone and not the unlocking service. I've heard that newer phones might not be in their IMEI database. I'm going to get a replacement or a refund so I can get it else where.
I got a phone from Rogers unlocked from ebay dealer
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280500425789&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
Dealer name is fastunlock2010
I unlocked my X10a (Rogers) through MobileInCanada.com.
Not sure why your IMEI isn't recognized.
I got mine from Rogers and the guy there gave me this: calgarycellunlockers(dot)com. They even have the contact number but you can do it online.
Thanks. I just bought a new code for the X10 and they claim it's from the manufacturer, so it is 100% guaranteed to work. I hope it does. Thanks for everyone's help.
Is it me, or am I reading more recent messages about difficulties with finding unlock codes for Rogers X10a?
Did SE or Rogers change or are withholding the unlock codes from the third party service providers?
Xperia requires new sim cards from rogers.., my x10 didn't accept my 2year old sim card unless i have the SIM registry unlock code (sounds like that)..,
so what i did, i switched sim card, and im still using my old number.., ask a rogers representative on how to do it..,
i had a similar problem with the service's online not being able to unlock mine. turned out that the ebay seller provided it to me. but it ended up in my spam mail and took about 3 days to find. quite frustrating.
You may try Htccode, they don´t look for the IMEI, intead the peforme a USB cable and software combination and it`s really fast.
Regards
Jaime
Looks like I'm having no luck here. This is my second X10 I've tried and I bought the manufacturer's code that's guaranteed to work 100% but...it didn't. And I think I've tried the code too many times that the phone locked itself. Now it says "SIM card locked. Contact Network operator" whenever I try to enter the code. Help, anyone?

A software unlock should be the last resort.
I don't know which unlocker unlocked my X10a, but I purchased it unlocked.
I had similar problems with my old Ericsson Rogers cell that no one could get the code for. Stupid Rogers wouldn't provide me with the code even though the phone was almost a year old, and I was then with its sister network.

Cable unlock is your only option.
Do you know where I can get the cable unlock? Right now cellunlocker.net owes me money so I hope they have that service as well. Thanks for the info, appreciate it
Try having a local store or CL person do a software unlock, which shouldn't take long. The problem is that you would need to give them the phone and wait, and it will cost more than cheaper online number unlocking.
Maybe try calling Rogers and attempt to persuade the customer service agent to provide the unlock code since you're with Fido. You might be fortunate enough to get connected with a knowledgeable rep who is sympathetic.

You mean Craigslist? i can give it a try. I was thinking of calling the Rogers customer service but I thought they don't support unlocking the phone? but at the same time I bought it at retail price which was $550 plus tax Thanks for the info.
Ok so I bought an Atrix off eBay about a month ago. Bought an unlock code from someone on eBay... everything went fine, Phone unlocked perfectly (Using Simple Mobile for phone service aka t-mobiles towers). Problem is now I've bought
another for my wife. Did the same thing... Bought the unlock code from the same exact person. however, this time instead of getting an email with an unlock code, I got an email with this...
"no code avail. we will refund phone is refurbished"
...So what do I do now. I thought that I have unlocked a refurbished phone before. I could try to return the phone (buyer said 7 day return policy) I picked this phone up for $180 and the condition of the phone is perfect. So I would love to not have to return it.
Thanks!!!
Try a different unlocker service?
I know when I got a refurb warranty phone ATT couldn't give me the unlock code immediately (they were able to with my original non-refurb). It took a support case and 7 days for them to get it.
<conjecture> I think something is done with the IMEI to change it, which throws off all the normal unlock code stuff.
Thanks.. I just called AT&T and told them my situation, and they just gave me an 8 digit code to put in... it worked great. I feel like I remember my other atrix was a 16 digit code, but Im really not sure.
I m Italian and my english is not good
I have atrix 4g At&t and i can't unlock this phone Refurbished buy with internet
I have used
many site with code... but nothing
At&t chat and facebook (but no and for my english)
Motorola Italia no help me
I have promise payment at At&t for code but nothing
I can pay 100 dollars (paypal payment) for anyone help me
Hi all,
I have been a lurker for god knows how long, and have to say, I truly enjoy the posts on this website.
I purchased an S7 Galaxy Edge (SIM-free) from "Currys/PC World" in the UK. After a month or so of using it, the phone just died one night. Had all sorts of errors in recovery mode, so sent it back to Samsung for repair. 12 days later, I receive the phone back, excited. I switch it on and it starts working. What I sigh of relief. Wait...
I am then asked for a Network Unlock code!
Has anyone experienced this before? I spoke to the Samsung and they have confirmed that the unique code of the phone is tied to a Network and when they rebuilt the motherboard and flashed the phone, it went back to default (which included a network lock).
Now, who is at fault? The retailer who sold me a "SIM-free" phone, which in fact was a network locked phone but unlocked with a code? Samsung, for re-locking the phone?
I have gone round and round and no one is owning up to it. The phone is locked to EE (with whom have never dealt with). My SIM is from Three, UK.
Advice / Suggestions anyone? Thanks, and much appreciated!

Simply take it back to currys with the receipt and tell them its locked and you either want your money back or they pay to unlock it, or save messing about, spend a few quid and buy a network unlock code off ebay or something and unlock yourself, will cost you £12
From the stories I'm hearing about Samslow, this will be the first and last Samsung phone I ever buy, I hate this phone, can wait for my next upgrade.
I'm not sure if I'm in the right forum for this but I don't know where else to go with it. Long story short, I bought this TMobile locked Samsung s7 edge from a local guy who said he bought it outright no contract. He didn't say it was s locked I assumed it was unlocked (yeah...I know) anyway I use a different cell phon carrier which I won't work. I've called tmobile 4x and they can't/won't unlock it but they t ok me the IMEI is good. But the guy will not contact me back about getting the phone unlocked...I think out my money and options. I was t old that it needs to be unlocked remotely not just a code I paid a site to try the code and they couldn't do it.
Any advice/help or experience with this kind of situation?
You can check here in case it was bought from samsung by original seller - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3592266
Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
The guy I bought it from said he bought it outright, no contract and when I contacted him about not being able to unlock it he said when he asked tmobile about it that could not find it in their system and I'd have to get it unlocked online. I've tried several sites already and no one does it remotely.
Try calling TMobile and they should unlock it right away. If they won't do it, you might need to contact the person who purchased the phone and tell them to give tmobile a call. Clean IMEI does not mean it is still carrier locked. It just means the phone isnt marked as lost/stolen. My S7 Edge won't unlock in the app even though I am already out of contract. After I called them, they did something in their system and instructed me to reboot then try again, and it unlocked in the unlock app directly. "Unlock Codes" DOES NOT work with tmobile s7 as you are required to do it in the app.
