***WARNING***
This is NOT an official guide and I'm not affiliated with Offensive Security [ :crying: ].
This is just my personal guide.
I've been playing with this today and lot of my tries ended up with bricking my device.
Currently this method is working, but I am NOT responsible for any bricked devices.
If you never encountered/heard of bootloop/brick, please consider ignoring this tutorial.
DON'T FORGET TO MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP!!!
Hi guys! This is my quick-guide on how to install a Kali NetHunter on Huawei Honor 8.
It's quite simple, just read every step carefully.
This is just a guide. All credits goes to: CyanogenMod , TWRP, Offensive Security
So let's start!
*REQUIREMENTS*
- Rooted device
- Custom recovery TWRP/CWM
- A bit of patience
- Brain
You will need to flash a new recovery image through your old one .
So it's exactly very easy. I've already tested a lot of things and everything is working just fine.
So follow this steps:
1. Download CM 13 for Honor 8 and put it on your SD card. Link here.
2. Download this TWRP image for CM 13 / Honor 8 and put it on your SD card. Link here.
3. Download OpenGApps (Select arm64, 6.0, mini) and put in on your SD card. Link here.
4. Download Kali NetHunter (generic-arm64) and put in on your SD card. Full version: HERE. Minimal version: HERE. Just select the version you prefer. I'm using FULL, but I also tried minimal and it's working fine.
So after you downloaded all the files and you have it on your SD card:
1. Power off your Honor 8
2. When it's already off, press&hold Power and Volume Up button, until your device vibrates and the display starts up.
3. You should now be in your recovery. Press Install and select the TWRP recovery image, which you have downloaded on you SD card. Slide the panel to flash.
4. After you successfully flashed the image, head into main TWRP menu and select Reboot -> Recovery.
5. After you reboot into your recovery, choose cancel, if device ask for password key. If TWRP asks you if you want to allow write access to the system partition. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU ALLOW THIS. Check the box that says to never ask this question again.
6. Do a basic WIPE
7 . Flash the CM 13 then flash GApps
8. !IMPORTANT! Now reboot to your system and complete the basic "First-start" settings. Do NOT flash Kali NetHunter, if you haven't completed the first-time boot settings.
9. When you set up your phone and you are already on your Home Screen, power off your phone and boot to recovery again.
10. Now flash the Kali NetHunter, which you have downloaded on your SD card.
11. After the installation is complete, you can reboot to your system.
12. Press the power button on the Huawei Unlocked Bootloader warning screen. It will take a bit longer to boot than normal. It's completely fine. Just let it be for like 30 secs.
13. Now the Kali Bootanimation will start. Your phone will probably turn off during the bootanimation on your first boot. DON'T PANIC. It's fine. It will automatically restart and boot to your new system.
14. Now open up the NetHunter app. It will ask you for some permissions. It's important to ALLOW all the permissions.
15. After you allowed it all permissions, you can now close the NetHunter app and enjoy your Kali NetHunter
Sorry for my bad English
If you brick your phone, wipe your data and flash everything except the TWRP image again.
It's not my fault if you damage your phone by doing this. Remember that you are doing this on your own risk.
Have fun with your NetHunter on Honor 8

will it works on stock rom??
Do I need to be on a specific build for this or does it not matter?

Unfortunately no. It requires some components from CyanogenMod.

You mean specific NetHunter build or CyanogenMod build?
I tried one older build of NetHunter and it worked fine as well, but I'm not sure about the CyanogenMod. I think there are only 4 builds of CM13 for Honor 8 and this one is the newest. But I think the older builds would work too.

Oh, I don't know if there is a build number limitation, but you definitely need MM ROM firmware.

Hmm.. Strange. What version of TWRP were you using to flash the Honor 8 one?

It's not strange because I was on nougat with latest nougat TWRP when I tried the first time. But I rolled back to mm and completed the steps. However, the data partition was encrypted after rebooting to recovery with the new TWRP. I had to format data then reboot to recovery again. You should add this to the guide.

I have tested on twrp-3.0.2-0-frd.img&twrp-3.1.1-0-frd.img both are working without any issue
link for twrp:::: https://dl.twrp.me/frd/
I successfully flashed nethunter on stock Nougat (FRD-L09C432B360).. DriveDroid which is the only thing I want didn't work with stock because it couldn't find USB mass storage. I tried to install it via nethunter instead but it didn't work there either. Might be because I forgot to open nethunter once for setup though..

I don't think fingerprint worked if I recall correctly. I installed NetHunter as any custom ROM if I remember correctly.
I have installed it on Stock rom by using Magisk (and root of course). Very simple, very powerful.

Hi, I have a problem with my D802.
My smartphone overheats in a short time. I check the temperatures with cpuz, I see that "pm8941_tz" exceeds 95° Celsius, why? If I use the smartphone with this temperatures, it reboots.
What's the problem? And what is "pm8941_tz"?
Please help me.
Same problems with KitKat and Lollipop
P.S.: sorry for my English
Have you tried to install custom kernel or ROM? I don't know what cause the device to heat that much, but some custom kernels and even those that come with custom ROMs have thermal control. I'm on AICP 11 and everything is normal so far. If you like Stock ROM, you can still try CloudyG2 or G3.

You need to root your phone and install a recovery, so you can install new ROMs. If you prefer ''pure Android'' ROMs, I think you'll enjoy AICP 11, it's Android 6.0.1 and it has more customizations than CM 13. I'll give you a tutorial:
1 - Follow the tutorial to get root: forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951
2 - Download the recovery for you model here: gregtwallace.com/lgg2-projects/twrp/?version=2.8.7.3
3 - Install the recovery zip using the app ''Flashify (for root users)'', you can find it on the Play Store
4 - Download and install the app ''Quick Boot (reboot)'', also found in the Play Store
5 - Download the hybrid bootstack from here (it is needed for any CM 13 based ROM): danielstuart.tk/bootstacks.html
6 - Download the AICP 11 ROM for your model here (you'll have to search it): dwnld.aicp-rom.com/?device=d802
7 - Download the OpenGApps 6.0 for ARM (pico, nano, whatever, you choose) here: opengapps.org
8 - Put bootstack, AICP 11 and GApps on your internal storage. Then reboot to recovery using Quick Boot app
9 - Once in recovery, go to ''Wipe'' tab, then ''Advanced Wipe'', choose ''Dalvik Cache'', ''System'', ''Data'' and ''Cache''
10 - Go back to the recovery home, install the bootstack. Then go to ''Reboot'' tab and reboot recovery, reboot ONLY recovery, it will tell you that there is no System installed, reboot recovery anyway.
11 - Now install AICP 11, then GApps, then reboot system
12 - Enjoy an AOSP ROM

Most people recommend using blastagator's TWRP, I don't know if you had that issue because of it, I use another one by dr4stic. If you keep having problem to install the ROM, give dr4stic's TWRP a try. You can download it here: androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347840163

Install steps are the same as if you were installing with blastagator's one.

I got it, but I think that he was complaning about having heating issues during normal use of ROM, not on Recovery. Anyway, I'm not sure that dr4stic's TWRP has thermal control, but I haven't had heating issues so far using it.

About Multiboot : A project to handle different ROMS at the same time so that you actually can use different ROMS without having to wipe up device to flash ROMS, it allows installation of more thn one ROM with all the features enabled.
USAGE1. Decrypt your phone by following THIS guide, else you won't be able to use Multiroms.
2. Boot into your primary ROM and install the Dual Boot Patcher app
3. Open the app and go to "Roms" in the navigation drawer. It will ask if you want to set the kernel. Make sure that you do.
4. Go to "Patch ZIP file" in the navigation drawer and patch the ROM or zip you want to install. If you can't select the ZIP file without opening it (OxygenOS's file explorer does that as example) use Solid Explorer, ES File Explorer seems to crash the App for some reason.
5. If you want to dual-boot with OxygenOS you'll most likely have too less space in /system. Instead use the Data-Slot and give a name for it when asked.
6. (Optional) Before flashing GApps refer to the section "In-app flashing" below and come back once you've done that.
7. (Optional) Download GApps from HERE, select ARM64 and the version you want, download it onto your phone, choose "Patch ZIP file" once again and select the Data-Slot which it created for you already.
8. (Optional) To flash GApps simply refer to the section "In-app flashing" again.
In-app flashing
To use in-app flashing, go to "Roms" in the navigation drawer, tap the floating button on the bottom right, and add the zips you want to install. You can queue multiple zips and they will all be flashed in one go. Once you've added all the zips you want to flash, click the check mark in the action bar and they will be flashed right away.

CURRENT ISSUES
#since this is a work in progress please do consider having a look here
1. If you update ramdisk and reboot then the phone will reboot to recovery and not boot to rom. You will have to reflash your rom for it to boot.
2. Lots of other issues.
3. When setting a lock-code in your second ROM and boot back to your main ROM you'll probably be greeted with "Wrong PIN/Pattern". To fix this either delete the following files in TWRP or via ADB:
In /data/system: password.keym pattern.key, locksettings.db, locksettings.db-shm, locksettings.db-wal
After this step you can go back into your main ROM and set a lock-code again, now it should work.

Seems like no rom is working with this. I have informed @chenxiaolong but till then, I need logs from anyone who is trying this on any custom rom. You can find logs in the multiboot folder in your internal storage. Thank you.
If you remove encryption then this should work. Try using the data slot to install a custom ROM while you are on a custom ROM and please let me know if it worked. For those getting ramdisk issues, ?*just flash /sdcard/MultiBoot/primary/boot.img.before-ramdisk-update.img from TWRP.

In bootloader mode > "fastboot format userdata" > done. But all your data will be lost. So make a backup on your pc first...
Want to decrypt your device in order for this to work?
Here's how you can do that!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/unencrypt-oxygenos-loosing-data-t3412228/
Managed to recover from a "disaster" after trying to upgrade my main, primary ROM (OxygenOS)...
So, I downloaded OxygenOS 3.2.1 and SuperSU and patched it via Dualboot Patcher, so far so good.
Then I booted into my secondary ROM (Resurrection Remix) since flashing on the currently running ROM is not allowed.
Started the Flash on the second ROM, however I accidentally hit the recent apps key, once I switched back to Dualboot Patcher it crashed...
I panicked a little, I booted into TWRP and flashed both files from there (first OOS, then SuperSU to prevent it from encrypting again).
After that I rebooted, however immediately after rebooting the OnePlus logo came on, went black and rebooted into the OnePlus logo again. Well, nothing much wrong so far, that's usual SuperSU behavior.
After the second reboot my phone was stuck in a bootloop and got extremely hot, I left it sit there thinking it'd encrypt again due to me doing something wrong (this happens when you forget to flash SuperSU after OOS)
After almost 40 minutes, still nothing. So I went to my PC and took a look what logcat says: Java Fatal Exception, something battery related wasn't able to load up.
So I force-shutdown the device and booted back up, not even 20 seconds later it booted into Android like nothing before happened...
Lesson of this story: NEVER flash your primary ROM from the secondary one... ALWAYS patch the ZIP files first, then boot into TWRP, then flash them.
I installed a dual system rom for mistake and obviously cannot use it, I also installed a data dual rom which is working fine, my issue is that when I try to remove the dual system rom I cannot do it, even if I move to raw/system/multiboot and try to delete I can't, I tried to change the permission, to set raw folder as a writable folder but none of this tries work..any help?
I have been using multirom on nexus. I saw multirom is also there for OP3. currently on OP3 I have flashed multirom(that similar to Nexus) , then i came across this THREAD.
Just a noob question - how different it is from multirom?
No disrespect to the developer intended.
Tried with RR and AOSPA, didnt work, i think its not flashing the second ROM properly..?
Here's a little info if you have never used treble. ?
https://www.xda-developers.com/how-project-treble-revolutionizes-custom-roms-android-oreo/
Download Treble system-arm64-aonly
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...opment/resurrection-remix-phh-treble-t3767688
This guide is for people coming from emui. If your already on treble see my guide on next thread to switch between different system images without losing data.
I got this Resurrection Remix up and running with gapps and magisk. Copy RR img, gapps and magisk to sdcard or OTG. Because this TWRP you won't be able to use internal storage. YOUR BOOTLOADER MUST BE UNLOCKED AND BE ON OREO UPDATE.
Download open gapps I use arm64 Android 8.1 micro gapps https://opengapps.org
Download Magisk 16.4
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YftvNNZVruyYgtFE5wFsgLTDDb4Yux5W/view?usp=drivesdk
Need to have this twrp installed. Here --https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZYo7Ndte3vlLcUSadD6jIgfBi1oxa0Pb/view?usp=drivesdk put twrp in adb folder
In adb in fastboot mode "fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk
complete_twrp_ramdisk.img"
After flash hold POWER VOLUME UP AND VOLUME DOWN IF YOU HAVE USB CONNECTED. OR JUST VOLUME UP PLUS POWER IF YOU DISCONNECT USB. TO REBOOT TO TWRP.
In TWRP select advanced wipe and wipe everything but sd card. Go to wipe again and select format data type yes. In TWRP hit reboot, reboot to recovery. Once back in recovery touch install. On bottom right select install image. Now find system-64-aonly img and select it. It will ask you where you want to install it, scroll down and select system image. Should take about a minute to install. Now reboot to system. After your in system reboot to twrp and flash gapps. After that select wipe format data. Reboot back to system and setup Google play services. Finally flash magisk for root in TWRP. ITS IMPORTANT TO INSTALL IN THIS ORDER OR YOU WILL END UP HAVING ISSUES WITH PLAY STORE AND INSTALLING APPS.
People that are getting uncertified play services error here is the APk to get your Google services device id. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YjNZuS3RfSrQ7DnmzOZMH74I63fmHGwN/view?usp=drivesdk
Once you get your id go here and copy it in.
https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/
IT HAS EDGE GESTURES ????
I updated the installation flashing instructions on 6/2 added how to switch between different treble GSI system images. Below -------V
BUGS?
VOLTE NOT WORKING
THEME IN RR CONFIGURATION SETTINGS DOESNT WORK.
ANYONE ELSE NOTICE ANY BUGS LET ME KNOW SO I CAN ADD TO BUGS LIST.
Here's the Generic System Image List
https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/wiki/Generic-System-Image-(GSI)-list
Thought I would make a guide for people who would like to test different treble GSI. So if you already on treble and would like to try a different one. This guides for you. Backup all your apps in titanium backup you can save them to internal storage. Copy system.img to SD card or usb to otg.
Download these gapps and copy to SD card to. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Jz9gFWTUqKWr2y4X6FXIt5wQbR1-TrFH/view?usp=drivesdk
The reason using these gapps is because normal open gapps are to large and you will get an error in twrp saying not enough system storage available.
Boot to twrp and go to advanced wipe and wipe system data cache and dalvik. Don't wipe internal or SD card. Than flash system.img. Boot to system. Boot back to twrp and flash gapps. Go to advanced wipe and wipe data. Reboot to system. That's it, now you can test different treble gsi. Good luck.
Currently not booting GSI'S are DU and AEX.
This install process works with the other treble ROMs too for anyone interested.

Has anyone successfully gone from a Treble based ROM (AOSP, LOS, RR, ECT) back to a fully working stock? These 1 off pages are great for information on flashing, but if we could create a generalized WIKI or something, that would be very helpful for everyone.

Great but if you just want rr without root you can use fastboot flash

You need to do flash system.img boot to system. Boot back to TWRP flash gapps. Factory data reset. And than boot to system. Pain in the ass I'm on AOSIP now. Took me forever to figure it out. After reboot apps weren't opening. Just keep trying clean install.
Thanks, I also ended up flashing AOSP vanilla and pico gapps and no issues with play store. Now if I could figure out how to make a proper back up I can use in TWRP.

I know the p10 lite TWRP will let you backup data and system. But I've had some trouble booting into the p10 lite TWRP. Maybe need to install via fastboot I'm not sure. But I have a backup of system data kernel and boot made with p10 TWRP for stock emui that works perfect.

I tried the p20 port and honor 10 camera ported but they don't work. P20 port I'm able to launch camera but the app force closes. If we could get a stock camera working that would be amazing.

Yeah but magisk or something causing issues. I've gotten it through fastboot on emui in the past.
I'll try it, hopefully if it fails I can still use the TWRP I have installed.
What is this?
- sGSI of ZUI 10.0/ 5.0 from Lenovo Z5pro/Z5, based on Android 8.1.0, June 1,2018 security patch.
Since this was requested in some comments, I flashed it and found working for our device flawlessly, with some bugs.
Features?
-All features of ZUI 4 + Soft Charge, gestures, multi space ( dual apps ) etc. Split Screen is also available.
How to flash?
ZUI 10 :
1. Download the flashable zip from the links.
2. Boot to twrp, and wipe dalvik, cache, data, system and vendor.
3. Flash the zip.
4. Reboot.
ZUI 5:
Method 1 : (Recommended)
- 1. Download any treble based 8.1.x rom and ZUI5.0-sGSI.zip (link below).
[Please use MIUI 10 8.11.1 by Narshi Shukla as base ROM, as it seems it's Vendor is most compatible.]
2. Extract the zip in your storage. You will get three files ( two flashable zips and one folder "sGSI.....". [Folder name might differ, there will be only one folder, so no worries])
3. Boot into recovery and take a backup.
4. Clean flash treble based Oreo ROM that you downloaded.
5. From your twrp, use file manager to move " sGSI...." folder to backup folder of Twrp.
6. Mount system and vendor and wipe cache/delvik, data and system.
( Don't wipe firmware and Vendor )
7. Goto restore in your twrp and restore the system from "sGSI....." folder.
8. Flash the remaining two zips.
9. Flash magisk if needed.
10. Wipe cache/delvik and reboot. Done.
Method 2 : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78389810&postcount=320
(You need treble based twrp, search if you don't already have).
After following all these steps, if your phone is stuck in Lenovo powered by android screen for long, then force reboot the phone and it will boot up to system.
What works?
-Here:
Call,SMS, VOLTE, Data, play store, Utouch, Fingerprint , Navigation, Double touch to wake, GCAM, Face Unlock, Hotspot, Banking apps, nearly everything.
What doesn't work?
- ROM specific. Bugs depend upon the treble ROM that you used as base. In some ROM, system sounds does not work. In MiUI 10, video recording might not work. Game Mode has some issues with global apps.
*FOR VIDEO RECORDING - see this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78219358&postcount=93 ****
*Update GPU drivers for VULKAN support. Link in the links section.***
Performance?
- Better than ZUI 4, smooth as butter, no stutter playing games like PUBG, notifications on time, decent SOT.
Can it be used as daily driver?
- Yes, if you can live with some Chinese texts in certain apps.
Any other thing?
- Because the ROM is ported from Z5 which has a notch, total area of the notification bar cannot be used. To see things like real time network speed and battery "percentage" you have to pull down the notification bar.
What should I do first after booting the device?
- Install play store from App center. Install magisk to remove bloat wares. Install any music app, since there is none. This will make the system optimal for us.
Also, Turn "True Full Screen Mode" ON in display settings for full screen in Apps.
Install Magisk and download and install "SafteyPatch V2" within Magisk to pass safetynet and hide banking apps in magisk hide to use them.
Open security app and give all important permissions to the apps you use, including system apps. Also include them in autorun/whitelist section.

******************************** FLASHING ISSUE ******************
While flashing this ROM, try to follow the guide above as strictly as possible. Use the ROM that is recommended.
If you are facing bootloop, download the vendor that is provided and restore it in twrp and then flash patch 1 and 2.
Also remember, during each and every step, your TWRP should have system and Vendor mounted. Check after every step.
Your phone might reboot once or twice during first boot, which is not an issue.
How to know if you flashed it correctly?
-If your phone boots into the system with "Lenovo bootanimation" , you flashed it correctly.
If your phone is stuck in "Lenovo - powered by android" splash image for more than 5 minutes, you got something wrong.

GCAM is working.
Notification bug is not there. Only sometimes, it seems that we get late notification.
You have to flash it over Oreo because the GSI is Oreo based. Flashing over pie should work as well, since treble ROM is required. Take a backup of your system so you can restore easily, if you face any issue.

Haven't tested, but should be flashable.
Edit : Custom kernel might brick the device. Will test and update.
Donot flash custom kernel, it causes self restart of device.
Note: Moxie kernels can be flashed, you should flash patch2 after flashing kernels. But, MIUI 10 comes with moxie R5.1 so no use flashing Moxie again.

Wow it's so beautiful!
I used Arrow OS 8.1 but it got stuck in bootloop and does'nt boot at all.. I followed all the steps accordingly but it did not boot up even after i kept my phone overnight to let it boot. I don't know where i did wrong.

Use MIUI 10 port of Narshi Shukla latest build. It works.
May be Arrow OS cannot be used.
You can also try using Vendor of MIUI 10 once. Restore this vendor and the system image of ZUI.

I think only MIUI 10 rom works flawlessly for this GSI. I will update the main page details and ask to use MIUI 10 only.
You couldnot flash patch 2 because it requires vendor, and may be your vendor is now messed up.
So use MIUI 10 port, it works without any issue.

Well, that's how some people got this working, so yes, it's working that way as well. ( Your ROM should be treble based though )
I will attach the "Vendor" file in the main post as well, so other members can use it too.
custom kernel possible, mine running in moxie
just use MsmDownloadTool V4.0.exe to recovery my op5 to oos, but the version is quite low as Android 7.1.1.
checked the system update, it told me up to date. which is of course not true.
tried to clean the cache of google framework service and oneplus framework service, still nothing in updating.
tried installed oxygen updater, and download 3 update zip from 7.1.4, 8, last version of 8, but each time I use local install in system uploading, then reboot to recovery, it shows me "failed". none of version works.
I even tried to install in recovery, wipe cache and data or just wipe data, then install from internal disk, none of the file works, even don't have any popup fail notice, just go back to file chooser interface.
I can still go back to system by switch off and on again.
How can I upgrade the old version of android in my oneplus 5?
original:
used use lineages os with Twrp, and I would like to flash to original oxygen.
download full rom zip in https://www.oneplus.com/uk/support/softwareupgrade/details?code=PM1574156143164
copied to phone disk
went to twrp
wipe Dalvik, System, Data, and Cache
then tried to install the full rom zip, but met "no Digest File found" error
found it must be twrp old, so I download new one in https://dl.twrp.me/cheeseburger_dumpling/twrp-3.4.0-0-cheeseburger_dumpling.img.html
copy to phone and flash it to recovery.
select "reboot to recovery"
then problem coming: I can only see the oneplus logo with powered by Android. it won't go any further.
I am not sure any thing wrong during my processing, but maybe 2 things:
1, I wiped the system
2, I didn't clean the screen lock pin before I flash
so, my question here is, if possible I can flash the original oxygen os in this situation?
if positive, could you please give me a step by step instruction?
by the way, the zip rom I download from oneplus site isn't have the "flash-all" script.
please please help me .

if you are directly flash to coloros android 9 from lower version other than android 8, it might be the problem you won't got the update in the system. It might be have issue in wifi or gps as well, which I bet you didn't well test yet.
that's all about the system partitions messed up. regarding my understanding.
solution is simple, but time consuming:
you have to flash an original rom using msmdownloadtool, make sure that rom will have update notification in the system menu of settings. then upgrade from there one level up each time, till to the android 10. (chinese version do have 10 available)
than, you can download oxygen os android 10 to flash on the coloros android 10 (hydrogen os android 10) you just done the upgrade, don't forget wipe data/cache before flashing.
hope that's helps.
