Android auto and phone calls - LG G6 Questions and Answers

Hello!
This is the third phone I've used since getting Android auto in my car and it's the first one with this particular problem :
When I initiate a call in the car, either by choosing a contact from the call section of auto, or by triggering the key word and asking it to call... It automatically selects the speakerphone instead of the car... And because I'm in auto mode at this point, I have to unplug the phone and then turn it off speakerphone and plug it back into the car... Which is annoying, to say the least.
Any advice?
Thanks!

I've had that happen from time to time, but while I'm in Android Auto,I can just tap on the speaker icon (just to the left of the hang up button), and it switches me back over to Bluetooth on my car. Not sure why this happens, tho... Sort of hit or miss.

Switch to speakerphone automatically / programmatically

Does anyone know how to switch the Universal to speaker phone during a call without manually selecting it for each call via the normal phone app? I have tried doing it in code with phoneSetHookSwitch(..., PHONEHOOKSWITCHDEV_SPEAKER, PHONEHOOKSWITCHMODE_SPEAKER) which works OK while it is ringing, but it keeps turning the speaker back off again once the call is connected. My app is running all the time in semi-kiosk mode, so accessing the inbuilt phone app can be a problem.
Basically I want the machine to always use speakerphone. I'm sure I had this working before, with the call above. However I've been on other jobs for a few weeks, and the machine's been reset a few times, and now I can't get it to stay on speaker.

Itech headset and Universal

Anyone have any ideas why when a call has been completed with the Itech (S38) headset the voicedial window pops up? It happens every time a call is completed, regardless of whether the call was answered using the answer button on the headset or phone. I can't find where to disable voicedialling either as I would be happy to switch it off.
It's very annoying!

Does this Itech headset have a feature to allow quick switching between Home Phone and Cell Phone? Like you press a button on the headset and you choose the Home phone or Cell phone? Because my plantronics allows me to do so but I wanted to check this Itech headset out because many people are talking of it and i got recommendations to buy it.
Switching
I don't beleive so. Once paired to the device of choice it just allows call answer via the blue LED button. This button also acts as the activator for voicedialling when in standby, which is where the problem may lie? It's just confusing as when not using the blue LED button to answer a call the voicedial window still popo up when the call has ended.

Mobile staying on after call in bluetooth headset mode

I am looking for a tweak or registry fix/setting to help me with the following problem:
On my parrot bluetooth car kit in headset mode after a call is finished the phone stays on. This is not a problem if you finish a normal call without handsfree because you switch it off manually but when you are driving with the phone in your pocket, the phone is liable to screen presses. I have been inadvertently creating/editing contacts and making notes with the phone in my pocket after use in the car.
The screen autopower off does work if the screen is not activated for a few minutes but the inadvertent screen presses occur within this timeframe.
Any help is appreciated - thanks!
I have a similar problem when using my bluetooth headset (Samsung WEP200)…
When I make a call using the headset the screen stays active, and if I turn it off during a call it turns it self on again after the call has ended. Not fun if it’s in my pocket and it decides to call someone back without me knowing.
Is there a general setting or fix that disables the screen when you answer or make a call with the headset active?
Have you found any solution to this?

Nope, not yet…
I can’t believe that there aren’t a lot more people with this problem!? It’s a REALLY STUPID problem to have on such an advanced phone like the Blacksone when nearly EVERY basic mobile phone has this feature since the dawn of BT headsets.
This might leave me no other choice than to retire my beloved Blackstone and dig up my old Samsung phone so that I can drive my car safely with my phone in my pocket…
There is an app called Touch InCall Screen Tweak. With that you can configure so that screen will go off quickly when answering and ending calls and bluetooth headset is used. It works great for me!

I actually tried that app yesterday but didn’t get it working as I wanted. How did you configure it?
I guess I can try it again – would be great if it works!
Well, now I can make a call without worrying about it to end (with the InCall Touch app), but when the call is ended we're back making random calls without knowing to whom.
This amazes me, how this feature can be missing. It’s not something I admit to my iPhone friends who still tries to find something that Blackstone can’t do – cuz this even works on the iPhone!
I'll try tweaking till I or someone else can find a solution to this rather embarrassing problem.

bluetooth handfree issue

I use a BT handfree, but sometimes I may want to answer a call using the phone itself.
If I slide to answer, I don't expect the phone to transfer the call to my handfree. It has been working in this way for all the phones I used previously
However, N1 will still transfer the call to my handfree in this situation....Any solution? (other than pressing the bluetooth soft button on screen)

That was what I was going to suggest. One additional button-press doesn't strike me as terribly burdensome.
Anyhow, the way it works makes sense to me. If I have a bluetooth headset stuck in my ear, chances are I'm going to want to use it for the call, even if I answered the call using the slide just because I picked up the phone to see who was calling and slid to answer while I had the phone in hand rather than using the button on the bluetooth device.
I Have been driven nuts by this for ages, to me the nexus one does it right.
My car handsfree answers after 4 rings, if I really didn't want to miss the call I'd press on the phone to answer, only then to panic when I couldn't hear them and then have to use speakerphone and turn off the radio manually and then have a really difficult conversation.
now, if the handsfree is connected it's always used.... I think there is a privacy function (that's what it's called on some other phones anyway) which will switch the call to the handset.

lol i don't know what you guys are smoking.... but it is up to personal preference i guess.
It would be better if we have an option for that so everyone will be happy

Two strange issues

1. car bluetooth (07 TSX)
When i dial a number, i am not able to transfer to bluetooth until the receiving person picks up the phone. I have to keep watching the phone until the counter starts. Is it my car (07 TSX) or any car bluetooth.
When i was using EVO 3D, i would select bluetooth, i hear ringing sound, as soon as the phone connects, it changes to handset mode, then i will select bluetooth again. This was also annoying but could not help and it was usable.
2. the phone makes a "faling coins" sound through SPEAKER when i shake the phone (THIS IS ADDITIONAL TO MINOR RATTLING NOISE)
its gone when deselected " Dialpad touch tones" and it does not come even if i select it now.
I have not seen this before, is it normal or some kind of setting.
