This falls under news, so it should be there.
And, it's called manners. No matter how late or how long, they released it and that's what matters. Keep showing contempt at everything that happens just makes the person worse.

My previous phone was LG G Flex 2, it's powerful phone with Snapdragon 810.. over 2 years old, and LG has still not released sources and not unlocked bootloader.
Trust me, Xiaomi is not as bad as you think.

Anyway, just because some OEM didn't release kernel sources doesn't make it right. Both are at fault here - LG and Xiaomi. Forgiving Xiaomi because other OEMs haven't done it either will make it the norm.

Well I do thank OEMs for continuing with the 3.5 mm jack, because some OEMs think it makes sense to remove it.

Yep.. You posted in good place bcoz this is the most browsed area.. I visit usually 3-4 times a day, so I can assume thousands of people will see it here rather than in Question and Answer area or Guides area.

Unfortunately no Quickcharge is a feature that can only work if the phones hardware has that capability. In the RedMi Note 4 that isn't present. So flashing a custom ROM won't provide you with that feature either. Click "Thanks" if I helped

The Note 4 has a Snapdragon 625 CPU which supports QC 2.0. Xiaomi just didn't add the drivers that enables it.

Please tell me english isn't your native language, I'll totally understand then. Anyhow Google have 0 commitment to providing us with pre-release info. It's *UNRELEASED* therefore they could deny the existence of GB itself and are completely within their right to do so. These little bits of info like not so secretive tweets are just a bit of fun, surely I'm not the only one who likes the suspense/surprise regarding the lack of GB info?

We all know how hard it is for developers as codeworkx, Entropy512, and XpLoDWilD to work on Exynos devices such as the I9300 Galaxy S III. The reason for this difficulty is the lack of proper sources & documentation for the Exynos SoC. What Samsung release is kernel source, and a few parts of the platform source that aren't actually modified or really critical. The goal of this thread is to convince Samsung to release the needed sources & documentation for the Exynos SoC!

Correct, nobody is getting hurt and nobody will lose any sleep over it at Samsung......but it might just get them talking about it. If you keep doing this for long enough, they will at least issue a response. If that response is "you can have it soon, but not now" then fine, at least we know. But the dev's have all contacted Samsung in Korea and been given either a bum-steer or a point-blank NO!
We are only being the equivalent of a fly that is flying around your head. If you want it to go away, you swat it, spray it, or open the door and let it on its merry way.
Marketing people hate negativity. They want a positive platform to work on - not people posting arguments as to why not to buy their products. They can delete the posts, and then we re-post them. Eventually we will get some form of response.
To those who disagree with this action, if there is another way, do let us in on it, and we'll all try it willingly no-doubt.

And BTW, I have a Honor 5X. I have been flashing his ROMs only, and they were always reliable, never stuck in BLOD. And as he could provide screenshots, that's an assurance too

Dude, there are ROMs. You are the one who's talking without prior knowledge. Other users have reported that they found ROMs. And besides, check my other post in this forum. If that isn't a ROM, tell me what it is.

This might be a dumb question, but i'm quite certain i'm not the only one wondering. Is anyone working on any ROMs for the v20? I know jc cracked root and recovery fairly quickly. Is anyone working on any roms? I'd love to test out Cyan ....its been years.
Pretty sure LG hasn't released the source code yet, and we still don't have the dll needed for unbricking using LGup. It's only been a month since the phone was released, chill.

I can't speak for anyone other than myself,but,it's generally considered rude/needy asking for ROMS & ETA's for such.If you don't believe me take a look around XDA & the rules for all who enter here.
Seriously,only one model has an unlockable bootloader ATM & it has only been available officially since 10/28/16.
On top of that,Android 7.0 is a new OS with only a handful of phones running it,so,you may wanna temper your expectations for development a bit............................

Seriously,only one model has an unlockable bootloader ATM & it has only been available officially since 10/28/16.

Perhaps you can show me where i asked for an ETA??? Seriously though, i'm not trying to be rude or demand anything. I simply asked if anyone was WORKING on roms. I didn't say "WHEN IS THIS COMING OUT?!" or anything like that. Delete it if you want, i was just curious to see if/what people were working. Someone above nicely informed me that certain software was needed before anyone could start developing, which makes sense.
What doesn't make sense, is calling me childish, selfish, etc, for asking if anyone is developing anything. It's so ridiculous that i can't ask a simple question without people jumping down my throat. I've been on this forum for almost 10 years and it didn't used to be like this.
LG is not a very popular brand that does not attract devs. Even the Pixel doesn't even have roms. The days of roms are numbered sadly.

JCadduono, the guy who gave us root shell and TWRP, is working on getting Kali Nethunter rom working right now. He is really good and I know he will get it working.

NP, if you find out about any others let me know.
I understand that the second screen caused problems in the V10 development. That'll likely be an issue with this phone as well.

You more than likely aren't going to see a cyanogen rom, they still don't have a working one for the v10... The second screen kills it...

People I think a quick no or explanation of the phone is too new would of just been fair instead of bashing the guy. The OMG don't ask for eta's rule doesn't really come in to play here

Here's my take on it. For one why would anyone buy a device like this to put cm on it? Like seriously that would be just silly. That's what nexus devices are for! I highly doubt there will be many roms that aren't just the standard stock debloated/deodexed. And those aren't even features. My advice is stay stock and use xposed if it comes out. I highly doubt there's gonna be any ground breaking features added to any rom.
Plus all the devs are switching to iPhones now! lol

Phones has officially been out 19 days and the resources needed for custom Roms aren't available. Tag this in the first world impatient problem bin. Geez.
They told that they release kernel sources 3 months since mi a1 was released, soo... where is it? Hate them so much

Because it's well known, that Xiaomi are taking their time to release kernel sources, but they always delivered.
If you want a phone for development then buy something which has the kernel source already releases. Stop crying and inform yourself the next time you are buying a phone. ****posting in a forum where nobody can give you what you want doesn't help at all but annoy others

When is the Kernel now going to be released?
Do you guys think that if you make all those posts with the very same topic over and over, they will make kernel source public sooner? Just get over it and wait for it.
It's not about guarding Xiaomi as a company, don't you have better things to do than whining on forum? Do you think if you put "Question for Xiaomi" into your reply, they will just come here and answer whatever question you have? Just WAIT because those posts are really getting out of hand here

So go and create ONE post where you all can express your feelings about how Xiaomi is a bad company, it's really tiring to see multiple posts about THE VERY SAME THING, you're all just turning this place into a mess where people want to ask legit questions and seeking for help.
Basically I feel it the same way (about Xiaomi being late with making kernel source public), but the spam really helps nobody and nobody responsible (from Xiaomi) will read this bullsh*t over and over. If you feel it that way, just be patient and keep it for yourself or whatever, just don't spam this place.
Waiting is the only thing you can do. If you have the chops, you could try to port kernel from RN4 or Mi 5x (Like some other users here have). Since Xiaomi made the promise of releasing source kernel, they will eventually come to do it.
Also, Oreo was declared to hit the phone by the year end and beta for it started fairly recently (judging by the time it takes for a beta rom to become the official stable ROM). I hope it is ready at least by this month/year end, lol.
Request mod to remove useless post.
