If you download RAW from this thread (for Z00D), actually you get the raw.ZIP with RAW inside.
My tool can unpack this "second" RAW. Sorry, this tool in Russian, but I bundled translated GUI picture.
Tested on:
Asus ZenFone 2 ZE500CL - RAWv1
Asus ZenFone 2 Laser ZE500KL - RAWv1
Asus ZenFone Max ZC550KL - RAWv1
Asus ZenFone V V520KL - RAWv2 (64)

Hi Yoti, thank you for creating this tool!!! You're the man! I cannot find any information or tools to manipulate these ".raw" files, they make no sense to me (I'm mediocre at this stuff, at best). I have two questions for you, if you have a minute:
1. Trying to use your tool on an ASUS ZenFone AR (Verizon version, so V570KL) raw image, and I get this error:
_____________
C:\Temp\ZENFONE_AR> ./asuspckg.exe V570KL_all_VZW_user_V3.7.8.raw
*************************************
* Asus Package extractor by Yoti v1 *
*************************************
e#V570KL$version#V3.7.8$sku#VZW$ 594371951 666E4966 - error
0 00000000 - Exception EFCreateError in module asuspckg.exe at 00012621.
Cannot create file "". The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
________________
On some raw files it happens after your tool has created a file about 80% of the original raw, on other raw files the error is thrown at about 20%.
2. What are these .raw files anyway (apparently they're something similar to the familiar partition images, but not quite...), and what is your tool doing with them actually?
Thank you Yoti

Sorry for being away for so long, Yoti! Your new tool worked!!! Thank you so very much, you unstuck me!!! More specifically - I have 3 raw images (probably as you said RAWv2) - one (the earliest by date) unpacked fully; the other two unpacked only partially, and gave an error (at different stages of unpacking). If you're curious about the errors I could give you screen shots, please let me know!
thank you again!

I'm willing to unpack .RAW file of V570KL rom and edit it. Can I repack it afterwards?
@SlenderPL
No. But you may flash unpacked FW per file via fastboot.

This tool is for the conversion of meizu's bin formatted rom files to zip. I didn't make the tool, but I can't recall where I got it either.
link
I made the tool. There's a topic on meizume dedicated to it but feel free to discuss it here.
http://d-h.st/users/iSilver
It is quite bloated because of the Qt dlls (couldn't be arsed to recompile the whole beast statically) and that doesn't count the VC 2008 runtime. Oh well.
I have found it is essentially good for converting stock bins to zips, as the other way round won't be helpful for CN devices - a check in the Mz recovery has a special code path for HK devices (based on /proc/uboot_version), which accepts all stuff regardless of whether it's signed updates or not. That's why you could flash anything, prerooted ROM, or even a su package (no need to mess with TPsparky indeed).
OTH, the CN version:
- checks sig of what it flashes (thus only stock updates may be flashed)
- had a (RSA ?) checksum for each partition and thus cannot be written to freely (e.g. mod the recovery image)
- is the reason my next phone won't be a Mz

I suppose I'm lucky to own a HK MX then. Honestly, they make the best phone that I've handled aside from an iPhone (don't get me wrong, I'm just referring to the build quality.) Thanks for the tool!
We need a kernel dev if your up for it as well. Custom recovery would be a lifesaver for this phone. I'll credit you in the thread as well!
How about this:
1/ Extract the contents of an stock recovery_uboot.img
you obtain a recovery-uboot.img-kernel.zImage and recovery-uboot.img-ramdisk.cpio.gz
2/ Flash recovery-uboot.img-kernel.zImage where kernel ("zImage" in update) for normal boot goes
/dev/block/mmcblk0p63/ Flash [(64-byte header)+recovery-uboot.img-ramdisk.cpio.gz] where ramdisk ("ramdisk-uboot.img" in update) for normal boot goes
/dev/block/mmcblk0p7
and try to boot normally. Do you think the recovery that's normally invoked via VolUp+Power would show up?
EDIT: I posted instructions for dismembering such an image @ http://www.meizume.com/showthread.php?p=158029

Hi men,
I've tried to flash the latest beta ( 5.6.3.22 ) ZIP after having modded it in order to :
* modify LCD density ( from 480 to 380 )
* delete ALL unuseful Meizu' Apps ( APK )
* include MZ Account ( APK )
But there're integrity checks so... FIRMWARE CORRUPT. In the end, I flashed original ZIP file, as downloaded.
Somebody knows how to bypass the check ?

I am working the new version which will have alot of features. It has alot of work, we are getting rid of that userinterface for 3d using ogre3d. The new version will allow you to choose which interface you preffer, but I'll concentrate on the 3d version. It will also include mtk flashing where you will just choose like say infinix 551 (remove frp) or readbackup format etc, devs will have access to a new mtk flashing system to add new phones support.

I tried many processes to make it alive, but I can't.

Looking for the Device Tree, Kernel, and Vendor for this tablet.
I am just learning. Is there a process for getting these from an existing tablet?
Thank you!
Darran
I found the device tree for the a similar tablet here:
https://github.com/Matshias/twrp_android_device_tb_8504x
Someone on reddit told me this:
If you can find something with similar specs and the same processor you can try adapting it to your device. The Samsung Note 4 and the S5 use the same sources with some minor adjustments. I've had good luck getting some kernel sources from Samsung just by contacting them and asking, but they're the only brand I have any experience with.
For vendor files you can try TheMuppets found here: https://github.com/TheMuppets
Or you can try to extract them yourself using this guide- https://wiki.lineageos.org/extracting_blobs_from_zips.html
Best of luck to you.

Device tree and vendor are not the problem. Kernel source code is the thing that is required. Was going to buy tab4 10 but won't if lenovo is not willing to release the kernel source. I've repeatedly asked them to do so in the forums but they never reply. Maybe try mailing lenovo support and see if that helps...
thank you - do you know if they have a dev support e-mail or is it the standard support e-mail?
Your kernel sources are already available. Its included in the kernel of Tab 4 8 Plus.

Some things will match others need to be modified as per the non plus model. Vendor files can be extracted from the device and the device tree can be set up by referencing the plus model since they are not too different. As per the kernel try prebuilt first and see if it boots

Tab4 8 plus has snapdragon 625. Go to gsmarena and search by snapdragon 425 and you'll get a few devices then go from there and see if they have a custom rom. If they do then find the device tree for that device from github and modify it as required. For vendor extract it from the device. There are quite a few tutorials on xda. As for kernel download the one provided by lenovo for tab4 8 plus (it'll work for non plus model as well). As for defconfig extract it from boot.img again there are tutorials available.
I'll probably try to get los running on the tab4 10 later
I found the kernel and some associated files here:
https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/...ntent=20190613_20190613184825&linkId=68972849
I found a similar an MSM8917 Device Tree here:
https://github.com/redmidevs/android_device_xiaomi_rolex
I looked through muppets and didn't find any vendor files for the TB-850 or any TB devices. Will work on extracting the vendor files and getting them up on muppets. Can I use the extract-files.sh file from lineage to extract the vendor files for the TB-850?

A good choice. Vendor files should be from the same device like device tree.
Use this one:
https://github.com/redmidevs/android_vendor_xiaomi_rolex/tree/lineage-15.1
You need just the camera blobs blobs from your device. But you can do this later.
More important are the firmware files because those are unique for every device.
Replace thos files with the one on your device:
https://github.com/redmidevs/androi...tree/lineage-15.1/proprietary/vendor/firmware
I suggest you to build Lineage15.1 first. The kernel works with Android 8.1.
Thank you for the guidance - looking to give this a try today

Soooo any ideas ???
Here are the repositories I am setting up
https://github.com/darran-kelinske-fivestars/android_device_lenovo_tb8504f
https://github.com/darran-kelinske-fivestars/android_vendor_lenovo_tb8504f
https://github.com/darran-kelinske-fivestars/android_kernel_lenovo_tb8504f
tb8504 kernel looks like can be built with this config https://github.com/HighwayStar/andr...rm64/configs/msm8937_p3588_pcb-perf_defconfig Changes after splitting can be intergrated in 8953 kernel from lenovo-devs org.
vendor blobs and common device tree can be used from here https://github.com/lenovo-devs only some hals has to be renamed or replaced with ones name msm8937 instead of msm8953
ZenParts is a utility that enables ZenMotions & Zen tweaks such as Audio Gain, Vibration strength, etc.
I've been searching ZenParts module for my X00TD (Max Pro M1). I'm planning to use it on Lineage OS which obviously don't come with it.
There are also ROMs out there that include ZenParts, but I need the module so that I can use on the Non existed ROMS too.
Posting such files or links is appreciated !
There's also github source code for it?
https://github.com/saurabhchardereal/ZenfoneParts/blob/master/README.md
Can anyone compile the code & make a flashable zip if possible.

Click to collapse
You can't make a flashable zip because it need the device tree --> need to build a new ROM.
