I am trying to get Direct TV now to run in immersive mode (without rooting) on At&T galaxy S8+. When I go fullscreen, the home, forward and back keys are still visible. They do not autohide or dim.
I tried the instructions from :https://www.howtogeek.com/302194/ho...to-fullscreen-immersive-mode-without-rooting/
without luck, although the commands run and the device responds to queries from ADB.
Anyone have luck with getting it to run immersive? Can use any help that you can offer.

Hello,
I am using CyanogenMod nightlies and would like to setup my long-press home option to shut of the screen and lock the device. There is an option to have it run a script from gscript, but I can't find the right commands. I have search the internet and haven't found anything(maybe not looking for the right thing).
I have also tried some programs from the market(didn't try them all), but they have funny side effects. The programs make the arrows that allow you to hide the status bar appear but not function, and won't go away without a reboot. They even show when I'm on the home screen.
Any help, advice, or some direction to where I could find the answer would be great.
Thanks,

Hi guys.
I've recently purchased a Nook ST (without Glowlight) and rooted it with NookManager. I'm using it primarily for reading doc. files and it's much better to do so in landscape mode. I've chosen "Force to landscape" under Screen Orientation settings and all the apps appear in landscape. The problem is, however, that after I wake up my Nook after it goes to sleep, the apps appear in portrait mode. To switch it back to LS, I have to go all the way back to home screen and repeat the whole process of opening the file. The orientation of the home screen stays LS all the time though.
Is there any way of keeping the Nook in LS all the time, even after waking it up? That would be really helpful.
Thanks for your help!
Try Rotator.apk
Thanks, after some hassle, it worked
@zurankar,
My favorite orientation locker is AndroidLock. Check out the .apk below.
The special thing about it is that you can actually assign it to launch from a hard key using @jeff_kz's NTMM app. It also works perfectly for exactly what you want.
:good:
Greetings people !
I have just installed Bell TV on my nexus player ... unfortunatly, those mo*******ers start the app in portrait ... navigation is pretty chaotic but I can't get the app to switch to landscape mode, like on my Nexus 7 tablet ...
Any ideas ? :victory::highfive::crying:
I don't have a Bell TV subscription anymore to test with but I doubt that much has changed since the last time you asked about this app on the Nexus Player.

"You can use an app like Ultimate Rotation Control or Set Rotation to keep it locked in landscape mode but either way, even after you log in and select a channel, there's no way to display the video in full screen mode so you'll only be able to see a small box of video in the corner of the screen. It's just not practical to use."
I am trying to get feed from my backup camera at no avail. vcam2 responds well to uvc grabber device being plugged in nd launches itself like it should, but gives me an error thay goes like: "failed to init video input from 640x480 -> 640x480."
Looks like I got to set resolution to 640x480 abd input mode to NTSC, but I am not seeing any menus or buttons in vcam2 anywhere on the screen, notification area. etc. Is anyone here familar with vcam2? Thanks!
A half year later, still wondering about the same thing... I've searched everywhere and found no one else asking the same question. What am I missing here? TIA!
I have same problem, can anyone help? I'm using usbtv007.
BTW there should be a menu button in bottom left on the navigation bar. You can change the resolution there and the NTSC/PAL. Id doesn't help for me. In my case it looks like vCam2 does not recognize device at all. Easy cap works fine. I tried installing drivers like it's shown on redit but it didn't help
Took me a whole half year to notice someone actually replied!
In all seriousness, thanks a bunch and I will be taking another look at it today. I bet I missed it because i am using the Auto Hide Soft Keys app to hide the navigation bar altogether. We will see.
It worked ok for a while, but now all I get is "vcam2 has crashed" popup error. In fact, I've tried a half dozen other Easycap/UVC viewer type apps and they all do the same thing. Must be my UVC capture device...
Also back when it used to work, I would get random (LOUD) pops when the capture device was activated. Was thinking about ditching it anyway.

I have an Carlingkit Tbox Plus. I am looking for a way to rotate specifik apps. (from landscape to portrait).
I have tried a couple of apps from the Google Play store, but without success. They work on my phone, but not on the box.
I wabt to rotate the TIDAL app from landscape to portrait, because there is no navigation panel in landscape mode.
Kind regards
The solution is to use Tidal in split screen. When you do that it uses portrait mode and the apps navigation panel is visible.
You might need to activate split screen in developer mode.

Click to collapse
It says tidal isn't supported for split-screen whenever I attempt this, did you encounter the same issue and found a workaround?
any solution?
