I have seen new Android 6.0 units with 4G built in. Both from Ownice. But none with Intel SoC. One witch MT3562 Octa Core, ARM Cortex-A53, 1.5-1.8GHz (which Brand? Mediatek, Autochips or other ? ) http://www.ownice.com/Pro_Auto DVD GPS Navigation for 2din Universal_405.html
And on AliExpress the Android 6.0 only have a Quadcore Cortex-A53, 1.3-1.6GHz.
https://de.aliexpress.com/item/Owni..._1&btsid=a03fbe69-3548-4524-a414-3181e4069883
Have a Octacore A53 more Performance like the Intel ???
Knows anyone anything about the Processor manufactor ???
best regards
Stephan
MT = MediaTek
A53 is a pretty weak core. Better than those crappy rockchip, but won't be anything close to the intel.
Yes i think A53 is a good choice. Its a 64 bit CPU.
But MediaTek has no MT3562 CPU !!!
anyone order this? i have not seen anyone with a 6.0 device yet
I will wait for the Octa core from Ownice. Andi1203 http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=601422 has the new Pumpkin with 6.0 and is happy with this.
Is there any benchmarks on the A53 vs Intel vs the T3 Quad core? I'm so lost at all these HU's is there a WIKI readers digest of all the **** going on with these HU's
I think the new 2GB intel joying with 5.1.1 makes 21000 points at antutu. In the Joying Thread has anywhere make this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69640816&postcount=48
But another one had 24000 with Joying RK3188 1GB
I Think that the intel Atom wasent a good idea. i have it in my dual OS tablet and it is slow at 3GB RAM.

Ownice threads are in the Android Auto General section.
MTC is the developer of all MTC units and Ownice is a manufacturer, no MTC devices have MTK processors, and if your unit is branded as "Ownice" its deffo not an MTC unit (MTCD is a type of MTC unit).

System Settings --> About.
But more generally, ALL current MTC devices will either have a Rockchip RK3188 SoC, or an Intel SoFia x3-C3230RK.
No MediaTek. So this Ownice is definitely NOT an MTC.
MTC is the not so much the manufacturer (although I think that they do manufacture some), but mainly the designer of the MTC devices (i.e., schematics and firmware). About a dozen different manufacturers build their designs.

Sorry, youre right, as I said somewhere else today, MTC is the developer not the manufacturer - post edited.
But i dont have this system to look at system settings. Thats the reason for many of the questions !!!
Nobody has anywhere make specific information about all the new systems.
Ownice has no Mediatek !!!! This Number of CPU is unknown at Mediatek. Nobody know whats really inside !!!

Theyre deffo NOT MTC, so no MTC ROMs will work on it as Ownice is in the title they are Ownice units.
Ask the seller for a pic of the settings/about device screen, or Ownice if they make any MTK devices.
Both links you gave say the devices are MT processors, one would assume they mean "MTK" ie Mediatek.

It'll probably be an MT6753 with a little bit of dyslexia and too much drugs built in.

Fair enough, I did put manufacturer though
AFAIK MediaTek is usually abbreviated to "MTK".

Perhaps as a manufacturer, but their SoC's ***part numbers*** follow the MTxxxx pattern;
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaTek#Hexa-core.2C_octa-core_and_deca-core
This is a bit of a necro post, but I'm researching this stuff right now. From what I read, the clock speeds listed on the Ownice site make it seem more like an MT6752. Either way, the benchmarks seem to be a lot faster than the Sofia.

Ownice (Ow!Nice!) is a manufacturer's (WinLink Technology Limited.) brand. Ownice c200 has Rockchip SoC. C300 has AC 83xx (MediaTek - AutoChips) SoC. etc.
Ownice c300 and Maisun MT 9932 has same SoC and firmware. The only big difference is MainUI. You can flash both firmware to each other.

What's in the C500?
Hello.
I just bought one of these 2 DIN android head units, it should arrive next week.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/7-Double-2din-CAR-MP3-MP5-Player-Radio-Quad-Core-Android-4-4-gps-Bluetooth-GPS-/112071545669?hash=item1a17fc1345:g:4aoAAOSwFe5Xz7t8
Anyone knows the brand/make or has any relevant info about this device regarding it's amplifier power and overall quality?.
It's based on the typical RK3188 platform with 1GB of RAM and 16GB storage, so i guess that it may be compatible with other systems roms based on the same hardware.
Probably an MTCB.
Overall quality: not better than "junk".
Personally, I wouldn't waste the time to install it.
Why would you buy something without knowing what it is?
Well, someone has to do it since you can't find any info about this device on the entire web. And judging by your answer you have no idea either, so I guess i'll just wait for someone else's knowledge or just wait quietly for it to arrive and test it by myself.
@Habieru, check out the RK-A701 thread below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...stions-development/info-unit-rk-a701-t3460559
Also, check out this google search: https://www.google.com/#q=rk-a701
Anyway, from my quick search, the RK-A701 head unit does not appear to have the MTC type MCU, and no one appears to have found a way to access recovery and flash any custom firmware yet. On the plus side, the RK-A701 is cost effective, has the higher resolution 1024x600 display, and root can be achieved with kingoroot or kingroot. That said, if cost is not a major concern, I'd recommend stepping up to one of the new Joying Intel units with 2GB of RAM or at a minimum any MTC type MCU unit or any Newsmy Carpad with 2GB of RAM.
Hope this helps...
R
Thank you very much @rhacy , that's the kind of info i was looking for.
After fully reading that thread, and some russian blog reviews i can conclude that this unit is just as you say, a cheap unit with no major highlights but gets the job done. Pretty much what i need because cost is a concern for me and this device offers pretty much the same as the others.
My father has one of those new Intel Sofia X3 headunits with lollipop and it sounds great, but i must say that performace wise the X3 is terrible compared to the RK3188. So for now i'm going to give this unit a trial, and if it does not meet some minimum standards i can just sell it.
And again, thank you very much for your help.
Hi everyone,
I'm looking to buy my first HU and after reading the forums for a while I'm undecided what to pick.
It looks like the Intel Sofia platform is the current recommendation - it comes with 2gb, the CPU is powerful enough and it has some support for fastboot. However from what I can tell there's no custom ROM for it (Malaysk is only for RK3x88 series) which is kinda of a big minus for me (since one is at the mercy of the seller).
Am I missing something? From what I can tell the RK3188 and Sofia CPUs are more or less identical in terms of performance, the RAM being the big difference.
I'm looking for stability (not going to play games or videos on the HU - I just want waze and probably the radio) first so a slower, older CPU with a solid community and ROM behind it fits my list.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Theres no "current recommendation", its all down to personal opinion. The Sofia units are ok (both MTCD and "009" versions), so are the Rockchip RK3188 MTCB/C/D ones which bring the benefit of custom ROMs. The Rockchip ones dont come with 2GB as standard and (in Lollipop guise at least) they need it, but that can be added relatively easily. However, the latest MTCD versions and Klyde's versions (probably MTCC but no ones sure at the mo) use the octacore Rockchip PX5 (RK3368) so should offer better performance than the Sofia or RK3188 units.
Your only option for custom ROMs at least at the moment are the RK3188 units. Another benefit of the MTCB/C type is that theres a particularly good audio mod that gives control of the audio chip to Android, although youd have to be able to solder to do it.

Thanks for the reply. Soldering extra RAM is not something I can do easy - I lack expertise and getting hardware in EU tends to be expensive and slow; I'd much rather pay extra (and wait) to have it built in the factory.
I'll keep an eye on the RK3368 boards.
Any idea whether these would be ROM friendly ?

I m in the EU and I got my RAM for about $30 in the group buy, theres a thread open at the mo, they took 3 days to arrive. It would just be a case of finding somewhere to do the soldering for you, thats what most people have done.
If the Klyde PX5 units are MTCC it should mean that anyone with an MTCB or MTCC unit currently could simply change their SoM for a PX5 one, we just dont know yet (the original MTCB units were dual core RK3066 and a lot of people just upgraded their SoMs to the quadcore RK3188). Well, we dont know until someone buys one - theyve been on sale since November, but if they are MTCC an upgrade to a PX5 would be possible if you bought an MTCB or C RK3188 and upgraded the RAM, then youd be able to sell your RK3188 SoM with 2GB RAM as it would be quite sort after due to the extra RAM . . IF theyre MTCC that is.
All that may be a bit long winded for you but at least youd have access to a custom ROM as you wanted with the possibility of upgrading in the future to a version that is more likely to have support from current MTCB custom ROM makers (I m assuming theyd eventually upgrade to PX5 units themselves and start making ROMs for them).
Or you could just buy a Klyde PX5 unit now and have the most up to date unit, but with no custom ROMs support yet :

If I sound MTCB/C biased, well I have 2 so I am. But from what I ve read the Sofia MTCD and 009 units are good too and at least theoretically easier to make a custom ROM for because Intel release their source code, unlike Rockchip. But no custom ROMs exist as yet.
Thanks again!

Klyde's unit indicates support for Android 6.0.1 while Intel's on 5.x and most MTCB on 4.x. Reading the forums I thought a MTCD board is required for android 5.x but it looks like that might not be the case - I guess in the end it depends on the manufacturer.
Btw, I read that one nice thing about Sofia is the fastboot feature which is not present on RK31xx/30xx units - not sure whether this is SoM or MCU specific. Do you have this feature on your units?
I like your idea about using an existing, tried-out platform (RK3188) with upgraded ram and custom ROM - it was my initial plan but the whole prospect was off putting.
I'll ask around to see how complicated/expensive would be to do the soldering.
Cheers,

Lollipop has been out for MTCB/C for about a year, this applies to ALL manufacturers and all RK3188 units, Klyde are the only ones who do Lollipop ROMs but the ROM can be used on ANY MTCB/C RK3188 device because they all use the same SoM. Some people find it laggy (I dont) but the 2GB RAM sorts that. Boot time is 20 - 30 seconds depending on what ROM you use, but there is no specific fast boot feature.
I did a group buy as ordering just 2 modules is expensive, but read the second RAM group buy thread in the MTCB hardware mod section and pm the guy who did it I think there may be some left.
Im looking fkr an android head hnit for my bmw and came across this.
link
Ive never seen one of these with 7.1. it says its quad core with 2gb, not a newer octacore unit. Think its worth it?
i think they mixed the screen size with the android version
it's an older rk3188 CPU, that's why is cheaper than current Intel Sofia ones, hovering around 300USD.
get the newer one.
joying is testing 7.1 builds but not officially released yet. Latest official one on their units is 6.0.1
Hi guys
Looking to purchase a new Android headunit for my 2008 Mazda 3 and have narrowed my search down to the following:
Hizpo HIZPO001AU59
A9 4 Core
2gb memory
Android 7.1
Xtrons PCD76M3MA
A7 4 core
1gb memory
Android 6.0
Eonon GA8151
A7 4 Core
2gb memory
Android 6.0
Which one would you recommend out of this bunch if the prices were similar? The Hizpo looks higher spec over all but doesn't look as good ... the Xtrons looks the best but only 1gb RAM. Eonon seems to be middle of the pack ... low spec but 2gb RAM.
Comments and suggestions would be very helpful please I want to get this purchase done today if possible!
Sorry I am not allowed to post links as a new member...
Well just based on looking at this post alone, and owning a Mazdaspeed6 myself, I'm inclined towards the Eonon based on the name alone. I've researched units specified for my car and I've come across Eonon often enough that I wish there was a good unit specifically for my car.
But what are your plans for your unit? Are you looking for simple pnp? Are you looking to fully customize a sic infotainment media center?
Ultimately I think you'd want to find a unit backed by the XDA community

Thanks so much for the reply ... Eonon does seem to have a good name and is much more well known than the other 2.
I'm probably a more basic user ... I'd want to use my unit mainly for GPS and Reversing camera functionality ... but it would be nice if it had good sound output also. I can't see myself putting so many apps on the device but I'd like it to be quick and reliable for years to come. Basically plug and play with minimal configuration required.
From reading other posts on here it sounds like all of these chinese "Huifei" headunits are all basically the same on the inside ... brand doesn't matter too much? In this case a higher spec unit would be better right?
Beware: a colleague have purchased a Joying HU with 1.8 Ghz proc specs (Intel Atom x3/Sofia) clearly stated on seller's page, while its only 1.2 max. This product advertising sheet (rather ****) should be double checked.

Strange I would've thought the Joying HUs would be quite good.
I ended up not purchasing a new headunit ... I'll wait until next year
At the last minute as my finger was hovering over the buy button I realised that the Xtrons and Hizpo HU may not support my Bose Amplifier system that is set up in my Mazdaspeed 3 ... there is a wiring modification that can be done to correct this but I'd rather have it work natively. The Eonon HU includes an adaptor that works well with the Bose system which is great!
I'll likely buy the Eonon unit next year when I'm back in the market to purchase one of these unless another good competitor arrives on the market!
Is there any custom rom for the GA8151?
Regards
