As the title says: I reverted from marshmallow back to kitkat, but lte doesn't show up, only 3g. When I am on MM again, I do have lte signal on the same place. Also in the system settings I dont have the lte option on stock kitkat. Any advice on how to get lte on kitkat? Or is it a problem only on my phone (I do have the G900F so it is lte supported)
Okay, problem solved
I needed to check the right option it in the service mode and I updated the right apn.

After a reboot it is also written in the system settings.

I have a G2 d802 originally with the Taiwan rom, Im using it in southeastern Europe and had LTE just fine on the original JB 4.2.2. rom, the selection option was not present in the network mode settings, but after selecting it in the 3845#*802# menu it was working just fine, after I received the OTA update to KK 4.4.2 I couldn't get it to work again, when I selected LTE only option in the secret menu it wouldn't register to the network, and all the bands were not selected and I couldn't select them in any way.
So I tried to flash the KK EUR ([ROM][D802]80220B EUR Open KITKAT Flashable ZIP With Custom Recovery Working! rom hoping it would solve this issue, now I have the option to select the LTE/3g/GSM in network settings, but still can't get 4G, and when I try to enter the 3845#*802# menu and select LTE only option it gives me “not supported”.
I also tried to flash a few different modem firmwares but still the same situation.
Any idea what the issue is and a way to solve it?

Same issue, same Taiwan model. No solution.
Hi, I'm from India and have a GT-I9500 which has been running flawlessly for the past 1 year on BSNL service right up to OS version 4.4.2 firmware vers. I9500XXUFNE4. Since then I upgraded the firmware twice to I9500XXUFNG1 and subsequently to I9500XXUFNI2. Midway while using firmware I9500XUFNG1 in rooted version, I started noticing that my phone data would run normally for a while and then suddenly the data connectivity would drop from H+ mode to 3G but would not return to H+ even though I know that I am in an area that has consistently strong H+ signal. The only option to get H+ mode back was to go to Settings/More networks/Mobile networks/Network mode/ and change the setting to WCDMA only mode for two minutes and then switch back to WCDMA/GSM(autoconnect), then the phone would get H+ service back again for a few hours. I thought that it might have been some problem caused by rooting, so when the latest firmware (I9500XXUFNI2) was released this month I upgraded the firmware but since I lost root on upgrade, I did not root the phone, fearing the problem will come back since I thought root was causing it.
Now in stock firmware running on I9500XXUFNI2 I am still getting the same problem of the phone dropping to 3G mode from H+ and not reverting back ( the speed is not even 2G. Just the 3G icon shows it - data packets hardly get transferred) and I can rectify it only by switching to WCDMA mode and back to autoconnect, as previously stated.
I checked online for solutions, but I don't seem to see anyone facing such an issue.
I thought it could be a service provider problem, so I used SIMs from Idea and Airtel as well, but while using those networks also, the same problem persists, so I have deduced it is a problem pertaining to the phone only. Not sure if it is a hardware malfunction or firmware based.
Does anybody else from India running the latest firmware for GT-I9500 have similar problems, and is there a solution?
Thanks.

The problem is with the modem firmware. Change it back to the original or get a kernel.

Thank you, Devilslasher. Could you please link me to a thread where they have listed the original modem firmware? I did a search under the Samsung S4 subsection on xda but could not find any thread where modems/radios for Indian version was hosted.
Thanks in advance.
I just upgraded to Lollipop and lost LTE. I have EHRPD 3G only.
I am rooted and on Extreme Syndicate 5.0 Lollipop.
I have tried the usual items found in Google:
1) Removed SIM, rebooted. Put back SIM
2) Checked LTE settings under mobile networks (Global, also tried CDMA/ LTE)
3) Checked APN (vzwinternet, internet and VZWINTERNET)
4) Tried basic toggling of airplane mode, data, etc.
I am trying to avoid going back to kitkat stock and working back to lollipop.
I am hearing that a new SIM may be required but I have not gone that route yet and would like to resolve right away rather than taking a day for a SIM to ship to me.
Any help is appreciated.
Have you factory reset the phone after the update? It would be something to try.

I tried numerous things. Right now my LTE has come back however things are kind of strange when I reboot, but at least ultimately end up working. I have a new SIM to throw in there when I lose things entirely again. I'm now sort of convinced that the problem is the SIM as I have tried a few different ROM's including stock unrooted KitKat and data always acts the same. I'm now on 5.0 and it's again the same.
Hello, after upgrade to 5.0 my s5 verizon, i lost 4g, but on 4.4 it worked fine in russia
I have my GS7 unlocked. Working on AT&T Network, LTE fine. But at some point I will lose signal and then it won't connect to network until I restart the phone.
Then I noticed...I don't even have a network selection menu.
Is there a code to get to the menu manually and manually set it only connect to the gsm network modes.
Are you using the Stock G930P rom or the G930U one? Cause the G930U for what i've seen preforms the best once unlocked
Stock GH1 g930p....I didnt feel the need to flash the U version. But maybe I will.
I found an app that let me set to gsm/lte

What app?
FYI: Sprint PF1 firmware has network selection enabled, I believe it was disabled thereafter, just like hotspot and apn editing.
Anyway, the app was "Network Mode"
Hi guys:
i have looked on google etc. but can seem to find a answer. I bought a LG V20 H910PR (from claro unlocked) im using it on AT&T everything is running super fine but can't get 4G LTE only HSPA+. Is that from the phone that does not have all the bands for ATT or is there is something I need to setup?
Thanks,

I will look and see if that model uses the same RSA key. If it does, then you can try flashing the entire AT&T firmware.

Your v20 supports most of att lte bands except band 17, all other should allow you to get lte with att. are you sure the apn is correct, and have you tried forcing the phone into lte mode?, use *#*#4636#*#*, if this menu does not work, download shurcutmaker from the playstore and search for network mode, that should allow you to open the network swtching menu.

Hi, I also have the same problem. The above mentioned code doesn't work, neither does the software you've mentioned. A bit more help will be appreciated.
Have the same problem on other operator. However if I reset the network settings and don't go into the network options it connects to 4G. If I just open the network settings, without touching anything, it locks to 3G/H+. There's no 4G option in network settings as mentioned. My APN is set up correctly. I did a bit of research and found these threads on Vietnamese forum, google translate was not helpful.

Is it safe to root/flash ROMs onto H910PR (it has V10j-CLR-PR software) using the H910 methods mentioned here?

Unfortunately I have the same issue, really disappointing. I'll try messaging the seller on aliexpress or I'll try to get in touch with the service on that Vietnamese forum I mentioned earlier. It is obviously software-side error so I am hoping this can be solved.
Also, you can go to service menu by typing *#546368#*910#.
Edit: After a bit of research I came across this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/lte-option-network-selection-t2827499
It is for LG G3 but the problem is the same. Basically Field test-Modem Settings-RAT selection - GSM/CDMA/LTE is a temporary fix. Other methods require root.
In the Field Test - PDP Setting - APN setting I have "LTE attach profile" which is hidden in the normal Network Settings menu. Don't know will modifying this to match my carrier's APN will change anything.
If you are still ARB 0, then you can use the H910 method. If you are ARB 1 or greater you will have to wait for the firehose method.

Hello, I am new to the site, something similar happens to me, I have an LG V20 H910, with the AT&T system it allowed me to select the 4G mode in the mobile networks option, now I changed the system for the company CLARO Puerto Rico And I don't get the 4G option in the settings, I only get 2G and 3G. It does not let me enter the hidden menu either, it tells me that it does not work on this device, I can not solve with the combination * # 546368 # * 910 #, I select the option only LTE, the coverage goes away and it comes back in 3G. Please, if someone solved this problem can you help me?
