I have the Huawei Mate 8 NXT-L09C636 Asian version and it keeps failing to upgrade to B580.
I previously upgraded to version B200 successfully. But now it just gets to 5% and then fails with the error "Software install failed"
Been trying the Dload methods. Also tried firmware finder unsuccessfuly.
Can anyone assist?

4- Now select choose Local update.
5- It will show the update.app file now tap on it to start the installation process.
6- Wait until the installation process is complete and then reboot your device.
7- Done
8- Did I help you? A ''thanks '' would be highly appreciated

Typically means that this version of firmware is not signed, or registered to work with your phone.

Hello everybody,
I bought today a U8800 Pro.It has Froyo installed and i'm trying to install official GB before upgrading to ICS.I' m following the official procedure with the pink screen and the file i'm using is the HUAWEI_U8800P_Android_2.3_V100R001C00B521.The procedure starts normally with unpacking but later i get the error message that Upgrade failed.
What am i doing wrong?
There was step1, step2 and step3? I think no... you must find the official gb version with all steps and flash it how is written in instructions.
Eclair and gb has different file systems and step1 is changing them. Step1 from ics is enlarging system partition, the file system of gb and ics is the same. If you buy this phone already, have a good luck with it
P.S. this is Q/A section?

Thanks bronxitas.
I'll start searching.
Placed Update.app in the dload folder in SD Card
Vol + + Vol - + Power.
Restart the phone.
Plz note that you have 512Mb available in SD card.
It's very hard to find the files.
I downloaded some files from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366420&page=2
I completed step1 but now i cannot enter upgrade mode.
When holding Vol+ + Vol- and Power On i only get the pink screen. No upgrade mode.
Heeeeeelp!!!!!

I wrote that you mus do exactly what is written in flashing instructions and what have you done? 2.2 -> 2.3 must be flashed with step1 and step2 renamed file. Both at the same time in the dload directory. Why you don't read the instructions??? An we must read you're crying?
If you finished with step1, you now must have different file system and theoreticaly you must flash only step2 and maybe step3. But i don't know if you will pass it ok. Becouse everybody can read and they done upgrade from 2.2 to 2.3 with 2 files in dload at the same time.
Have a good time by creating you're own methods of doing something, that can brick you're phone!

Hi,
I tried to upgrade u8800pro from Froyo 2.2.2 to Gingerbread, but I didn't successeded.
Here are the steps I've made:
1. I downloaded HUAWEI Ideos firmware(U8800Pro,Android 2.3,V100R001C00B521,Oversea Normal) from download-c. huawei. com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=13574&version=14620&siteCode=worldwide
2. I erased all data from SD card.
3. I copied downloaded dload folder containing UPDATE.APP to SDcard.
4. In Settings->Privacy->Factory data reset I erased all data from phone. During this process, phone was restarted and set to initial factory state.
5. I turned off the phone.
6. I held Vol + + Vol - + Power.
7. On phone was displayed "Firmware update step 1/2 Unpacking"
8. "Update failed" appeared on next window.
Can someone advice me, what did I wrong? These steps are include more as is needed according Upgrade Guideline, but anyway it doesn't work.
Than You.
Recently there was an issue with Honor 4x users who updated from KitKat (emui 3.0) --> Lollipop (emui 3.1) version due to some server issues(might be too many downloads at same time because of many many users of Honor4X in India) This is actually due to a corrupted recovery and flashing a new recovery might solve the issue.
To solve the issue HONOR 4X stucked at Honor logo ,i have an easy solution for all those users: Please download and extract the software package from below official path(around 35MB file)
https://drive.google.com/folder/d/0ByJkSOohdNz_Wnd6cVQ3Nlh1am8/edit
Requirements:
1) Make sure that the Micro SD card is available with enough free space(atleast 200MB) and can be read and write. It is recommended that The Micro SD card is made by Sandisk, Kingstone, or Kingmax.
2) Make sure that the power of the battery is enough to run the process. It is recommended that the power of the battery is more than 50%.
Procedure:
Step 1. Format the Micro SD card (This operation is OPTIONAL ).
Step 2. Copy the entire dload folder (with UPDATE.APP in it) contained in the file we downloaded to the root directory of the Micro SD card.
Step 3. Shut down the phone.
Step 4. Press the VOLUME UP + VOLUME DOWN + POWER Key(simultaneously for few seconds) to power on the phone and enter the Software Upgrade Mode begins automatically. This will start the FIX process on your device.
Step 5. When the progress bar stops(100% upgrade successful), the phone will automatically power OFF and restart.

Upgrade needs stock recovery to be installed and I don't think tha TWRP is stock
booted to twrp instead of the stock emergency recovery? try using huawei update extractor and get all the .img files and fastboot flash all the .img files. the method is pretty much the same as fixing my own Che2-L11. once you flashed all the .img files, yes. it will not boot. but, you can access the emergency recovery menu (the menu that allows you to scan and would allow reparing via wifi). IF you can get to this menu, then youre ok good to go for forced upgrade via microsd. just make sure you are using the latest version available your your region. IF it didnt work, you have to fallback by fastboot flash the kitkat version of update.app and force upgrade with that kitkat update.app file. then when its fully booted to language screen, proceed normally as you would a hard reset all phone, then use the usual lolipop, next mellow official update.app file. then, your typical twrp, magisk, and more.

Hello everyone.
I rooted my phone (os was marshmallow) with android lollipop procedure, so i soft bricked the phone.
I flashed with fastboot various versions of huawei p8 lite firmware, all of these were 5.0.1.
When I managed to unbrick my phone I found out that it can't read the sim, so I looked in settings and IMEI and BASEBAND were disappeared.
Probably direct downgrade from marshmallow to lollipop caused this.
By the way, I managed to solve all my problems.
I will write what I've done here. I hope will be helpful. To start: my model is ALE-L21 (Single Sim).
- Download B041c (if you search in google you will find various results, all taking to the same site). I'll explain this better after *
- Flash with fastboot B041c
- Download B133 (this is very easy to find, but if you have problems search in a site called carbontesla)
- Unpack B133 dload folder (you will find custom folder too, don't worry about it) and put dload folder in the root of your sdcard
- Go to Settings -> Updater -> Local Update and start B133 update. Phone will boot. The upgrade process should be done with phone chargend and unplugged from PC.
- At some points update could appear stucked (for me was at 15% and 85%) but be hopeful and it will continue (let be patient).
- Phone will boot and your sim after 4-5 seconds will work again!
* B041c is hard to find. At this time only one site have it. I can't link you this site, because the downloader you get from this site installs adware on your pc while it download B041c. I have had to solve my problem so I proceded at my own risk.
Updater will notify you about the update to B183. It doesn't worked to me! If you want to update your phone you can install firmware B171 and install it as update (in dload folder)
UPDATE TO MARSHMALLOW
- If you want to update your phone to marshmallow you have to download other two firmwares (B171 and the MM you want. I used B551)
- Put the dload folder of B171 in your sd card, turn off your phone and force flash (VOLUP + VOLDOWN + POWER buttons). It may appear stucked at 19% and 85%. Don't worry, be patient!
- When phone boot is completed, put dload folder of your MM firmware in your sdcard, turn off the phone and force upgrade (VOLUP + VOLDOWN + POWER buttons). It will take 15-20 minutes.
- When installation is completed and phone boots, turn it off again, enter in recovery mode (VOL UP + POWER button) and clear data and cache.
- Now you have a clean install of MM! However, some applications may be old (play store). If you have connected our phone to a network, play store will update automatically
SOLVE BALONG BUG
You can find easliy the solution in the forum. But to be a complete guide and make your life a lot way easier here is the solution.
Simply put UPDATE.APP of custom folder that you can find in some firmware (I used B049 custom folder) in your sd card and then update from settings or from force update. Is a 20KB file so it will be very fast to install
Hey, guys.
I'm totally new to this whole rooting of phones and I gave it a go with my Huawei P9 Lite yesterday. After some trial and error I managed to unlock my bootloader, then I got TWRP on the phone, booted into that, then got SuperSU on there and booted into a totally whiped phone. Here I deleted the bloatware I wanted to. Afterwards I wanted to un-root my phone which SuperSU allowed me to. At one point I got a screen that said "Attempt to restore stock boot image? This is required for OTAs to succeed. If you manually decrypted you device, note that this might prevent your device from booting". I pressed "Yes" as my guide said to. I booted into the same totally whiped phone however the bloatware was back. I deleted it again, went to un-root in SuperSU and then pressed "No" instead.
Now when I turn on my phone I get the Huawei eRecovery where I can "Download latest version and recovery" (which doesn't work), Reboot and Shutdown. I can also enter Fastboot (white screen, green android and some text). I am stuck here. I tried different things, such as making a folder on an empty micro-SD card called "dload" with the UPDATE.APP in it, then pressed and held both + and - volume and power, booted into the recovery and it failed at 5%.
Can any of you guys help me? I am at a total loss - I'm a total noob at these kind of things so I would really appreciate any help I can get.
Also my phone is a VNS-L31C432B380 with dual sim bought in Denmark.
Kind regards
Martin
You shouldn't have pressed the "No" button.
First , you'll need to download the rollback package from here: http://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=93784&version=373401&siteCode=nlen
Second , put the update.app file in dload folder and boot into dload mode and let it install .
Third , download the firmware for your phone: http://bit.ly/2eRLmGn (It's VNS-L31C432B160)
Fourth , put the update.app file in dload folder and boot into dload mode.
This should work.
edit: If you don't understand , you need to put the rollback package first and let it install , then the firmware and install it.
Awesome, I will try this tomorrow. Just to be sure, when you tell me to put the different files in dload, is it enough that I use my empty microSD, create a folder called dload and put them there? Because right now my phone will not even connect to my PC, only recharge it.
I will tell you how it went tomorrow, thanks in advance
Doesn't matter if it's empty or not , you just need enough space.
First , you'll need to copy the rollback package update.app , boot into dload mode and let it install
Second , after the rollback package installed , you'll need to copy the firmware update.app into dload folder , boot into dload mode and then let it install.
You just saved my ass BIG TIME, I can't thank you enough!
I just rooted my phone again, deleted the apps I wanted to delete. Now do you know of a way to unroot my phone back to its normal state (before root) while keeping the bloatware deleted? Sorry if I ask stupid questions, but I am really new to this whole thing.
Hi,
i got a phone, with firmware: PRA-AL00C000B150. In firmware finder found many newer firmware. I downloaded the next: PRA-AL00C00B205 full-OTA update.zip.
I copy update.app to sdcard dload folder and i tried 3 button method, but doestn't work. Then i tried from secret menu (*#*#2846579#*#*) Software upgrade, but doestn't work.
In both casesi got an error message in 5%: Software update failed
Any idea?
