I'm using a Galaxy S8+ SM-G955F A.K.A the international version. I intend on rooting the phone with the hope of enabling consistent 4 way screen rotation in the homescreen, lockscreen & every menu and application on the system. (Currently rotation settings on my unrooted phone means either 3 way, or 0 way when on lockscreen or homescreen.)
I've had the phone for a few days and already I find myself wishing that I could use the phone with the screen flipped upside down to get more distance from my wall when charging.
Is this an unlockable feature of rooted phones?

I am having problem with my galaxy s4 when unlocking it from the lockscreen.. I just recently purchased it this week.
When I lock the screen and try to unlock it, most of the time it takes a while for it to let me unlock the screen.
I have search through google of anyone else has this issue but there seems to be none.
does anyone have an explanation about this issue? or is it normal?
This is definitely not a normal behavior. First, did you install any apps that may slow it down? If not, then try updating the rom (software update in the settings screen), and if it still doesn't help you may want to use the warranty to get another device.

I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 (SM-T230NU). I've read on a few device spec sites that it has vibration capabilities but when I downloaded an app to test it, it did not work. I tried Tasker and there was the X above the word Vibrate in red. I have since rooted on my stock rom (using TWRP) and this is still the case. Are those sites wrong or is there something I'm doing wrong?
My Tab 4 8.0 (t330) doesn't seem to vibrate either.
No vibrate.
I'm afraid that I never noticed if this was an issue caused when upgrading to MM or something with the Note 4 as I moved straight up from the Note 3, and installed MM straight away. I'm running stock firmware, and I'm rooted with xposed running.
I'm using the No Lock Home Xposed mod and when I'm connected to one of my chosen Wifi networks I no longer need to use the fingerprint scanner (the phone stays unlocked) but I ALWAYS have to swipe when the device is woken. And when I unlock with the fingerprint scanner.
I've tried altering all kinds of settings but to no avail. In the greater scheme of things it's not a big issue but it is rather tedious!
Any suggestions? And yes, I've tried it with the Xposed mod not activated
Hello everyone,
Recently, my Always on Display and Nightwatch stopped working - I've read people's issues with greeny AoD's, AoD's not showing notifications, among some other issues. But in my case it doesn't appear at all, even in the S-View case.
I've almost ran out all the options to solve this problem, i.e.:
1. I've already factory reset the phone. Cleaned cache and everything. Result: A brand new phone. Still no AoD nor NW.
2. Cleaned AoD cache and data, restarted the phone. Still no AoD nor NW.
3. Used AoD without "Show Always" option. Still no Aod nor NW.
4. Disabled edge screen (because this one works when I swipe on it with screen off) and enabled AoD. Still nope.
5. Installed AoD APK from Galaxy s8 & previous versions from Galaxy S7 models. Of course still no AoD nor NW.
6. Flashed previous firmware (I'm on latest official 7 build. Never rooted or anything). Guess what? No AoD nor NW.
7. Flashed 2 previous versions of Samsung firmware. AND NO GOD DAMN AOD AND NW!!!
My S7 Edge had its screen replaced some time ago by Samsung, and no worries until now. This was the only issue with the phone so far, because I let it fall almost one year ago.
I'm starting to be a little bit upset with this. Could it be an hardware issue? Do you guys had any similar issue with this feature? I'm really concerned because I used to use it A LOT in a daily basis.
Looking forward for your help
After I rotate the phone and then toggle OFF the rotation button , the screen automatically rotate back to normal position, instead of remaining locked in horizontal position, and yes- I keep the phone physically rotated on its side the entire time
The phone is rooted with magisk, if it matters
What could cause this problem? I already tried to reset and disable developer options, which btw, would it make an issue booting the device if OEM unlocking won't be ON ?
-to make it clear - the screen rotation functions well when rotation mode is on, I just can't keep it in horizontal position
Thanks in advance
That's not a common error.
On both mine and my GF's A1 that setting works.
EDIT:
I just can't keep it in horizontal position

That's correct: You can't 'lock' screen to horisontal position!
Both untouched Android 8.0.0 April patch.
I thought this was normal behaviour for stock android? I understood only certain manufacturers allowed rotation lock in their ROM's like LG?
FYI: My stock A1 on April 8.0 returns to Portrait when rotation is turned off.
That's not an error. It's just how Android is designed to be.

On other android phones it's not the case, you can lock it on Samsung S8(oreo), Samsung S1 (stock) and on S1 with CM mod
Perhaps it was possible with the MI A1 before some of the latest updates too,I'm don't really remember, anyway, Xiaomi should return this function because it's useful and already exists in older and newer android phones WITH stock versions
