Loving my Zuk, or was. I set up the screen lock for fingerprint sensor and it was working great. Recognises my thumb first time every time. Now though I can unlock with just a normal swipe. It doesn't even demand the backup pin number. I went back into settings and it still had the fingerprint setup as the screen lock so I removed it and set it up again and hey presto i was back in action but only for about 10 minutes and it went back to no security at all.
There were 4 small OTA updates today so I am guessing one of these has messed it up. Each update didn't say what it was for
Has anybody else had this issue?
Is working well for me.
Have you added other smartlock event (wifi, location, ecc) that can interfere with the lockscreen and disable it?

My MOTO 360 is in smartlock as a trusted device, don't fully understand what smartlock is to be honest. If I remove it would it affect anything?

Of course!
I have also a smartwatch (LG Urbane) and the watch as a trusted device. When the smartwatch is connected to the phone the lockscreen is always DEACTIVE, even if you have configured a lock screen (PIN, pattern and or fingerprint)
Power off your watch (or set if in airplane mode) to check if lockscreen turns on in the phone

I have just removed my 360 as a trusted device and the screen lock now works perfectly and so I now understand how this works. Many thanks for the advice. I can now stop worrying that I have a faulty device!

I am facing as well to a lockscreen and fingerprint issue.
I used fingerprint to open lockscreen and pattern as secondary. After showing the ZUK to somebody I needed to modify the pattern. From that time I am unable to switch back to fingerprint. Only three opportunities what I have, and no swipe or fingerprint, due to "Disabled by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage". What accessibility service messes up the fingerprint usage? Do you guys have an idea? All of them are swiched off.

My problem is solved. I needed to delete credentials in security settings.
Hi. I'm having some problems with the fingerprint sensor. Is working intermitent or not. I've asked zuk support already but no answer yet. I don't know if it's a software issue or hardware. It's any way to calibrate the sensor? Maybe it's decalibrated? Any help will be usefull. Thank you.
LE I already made a factory reset. No improvement.

I'm using the Zuk since a month, and no problems with the fingerprint at all.
In any occasions, the fingerprint sensor don't detects the finger the first time but at second try.
Since a few days, I'm on CyanogenMod (instead of Cyanogen OS) and I think the sensor is less responsive (sometimes I need to try three times or use the lock pattern).
But if you are with issues using CyanogenOS I think is due to a hardware issue.

Fingerprint actions has been removed by CM a few OTA updates ago.
I hope a kernel developer will add soon, but ZUK has not too much developers
Modded kernel for COS can be found in the other topic about this issue.
The OnePlus 2 sources happen to have a compatible finger print driver with capacitive button support which is currently being checked out for porting to the Chroma kernel.
So don't fret.. The feature can be restored.
iam not able to use my fingerprint lock, it was working well before but now suddenly it is not showing the option in CHOSE LOCK SCREEN- the SWIPE an d FINGER PRINT OPTION IS DISABLED.
how to enable it
Thanks ... I had the same issue & delete credentials in security settings.
I bought zuk z1 3days ago
Why We cannot use fingerprint sensor to lock and unlock the device for both purposes
Having an issue with the fingerprint sensor.....
Works fine but when push notifications(any notifications**) show up on the lock screen ..the sensor gets non responsive...mind u almost impossible to unlock
Have no choice other than security pin
And I Definitely think this is result of All IN ONE Issue
Say like.....1)fingerprint sensor integrated into hone Button, 2)Faulty software patching, 3) Me, adding two or more fingerprints
Any Suggestions from u guys Feels helpful
BTW....Bought the product via Amazon.in
Is there a provision in the ZUK Z1 which let's you interact with the device by simply tapping on the fingerprint sensor except on the lock screen?
If the device is locked and the screen is off too, simply placing my hand on the fingerprint sensor doesn't work. I always have to press on the button to wake the screen first.
Any help?
May sb tell me the modell of the finger print reader of the ZUK Z1? Pls. use AIDA64.

That's part the of custom roms. Fingerprint as home button can be activated by flashing something, you need root. But in the play store you can try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ztc1997.fingerprint2sleep
But it's not that what you need. Without root and a kernel where its implemented its not possible.
Hey my fingerprint was working fine till one day it just started vibrating when I tried to scan it. I tried deleting the saved fingerprints and registered new. I'm not even Able to register new fingerprints. What do I do?
as per title really?
I've googled around a bit and not found anything definitive to explain the root-cause.
A few sites and threads claim to fix or provide a workaround, but from what I've read these are not 100% guaranteed to fix on all variants , all ROMs
I personally have tried latest versions of:
RamRom
DN
X-Rom
Norma
...with none having any fingerprint functionality before or after trying various "fixes"
What gives?
Edit: Yes, we know fp is pretty crap on N4 out of the box anyway, but please, can someone provide detail on why the N7 ports often fail in fp function ?
Well actually the fingerprint reader is really great on my N910C, and I have yet to find any Marshmallow rom that offers fingerprint log-on after a cold boot. They all work for apps and stand-by on/off log-on, but not at boot.
I think, as per usual, the hardware support for developers is crap by Samsung.
In Lollipop roms the fingerprint reader works like a charm.
I'm using nemesis Rom, using 3rd party app work like a charm.
Name of d app called (applock) pro version from play store.
Sent from my SM-N930F using Tapatalk
Finger scan lock is working flawlessly in RamRom here on latest version (6) for N910F/G. It was pretty smooth on the last version (4) too.

Fingerprint Enabler xposed module can be used to enable fingerprint log-on after boot.
And if one wishes to bypass the fingerprint log-on, No Lock Home xposed module can be used, works when connected to wi-fi.
If you're talking about Note 7 ports, the reason why fingerprint is not working, the same reason as to why AOD is not working, is because of hardware differences.
The reason why Ramrom manages to get fingerprint working is because it's not really a port but more of a stock Note 4 rom with a Note 7 skin and apps available on it.
Hello, I have a OnePlus Two running the latest CM 14.1 nightly. My fingerprint sensor will not work. It stopped working a week ago, at which point I was still running Oxygen OS, whatever the latest update for it had been. my sensor became buggy, not responding, then quit altogether. I have to use onscreen buttons. I still had fingerprint options at that point in my system settings, but I couldn't do anything with them because they were grayed out. I ended up switching to CM 14.1 hoping a new ROM would help it to work, but now my fingerprint sensor is still non-functional.
At this point, I do not even have fingerprint settings in my settings. I can not locate the com.fingerprint.... process that is supposed to be running, so at this point i feel like the sensor might work, but the process is gone or does not exist. When I dial *#808# it does not recognize that dial code and gives me no feedback, which reinforces my thought that the fingerprint service just does not exist.
user: johnthepig, at the end of this forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/help/home-button-tried-fixes-t3366992/page2) said back in may that after Oxygen 3.0.1, the fingerprint sensor would not work in anything else. that he tried going to CM and it wouldn't work and then he went back to Oxygen and it worked, and back to CM again and it wouldn't work. My experience was that it just stopped working in Oxygen. Is there a way to manually give my phone the proper com.fingerprint service/process to run?

This is BY FAR the best description and observation of the issue. Did you find any information on that service missing from the apps menu?

No, unfortunately I never found a resolution to the issue. I'm still using my OnePlus Two and just operating it with the on screen buttons. At this point I'm just used to it and don't think about it anymore. It was very annoying originally. I'm still not sure if it's just the missing process, or whether it's a hardware issue and because the hardware isn't there, it doesn't obtain the process or what. Idk honestly. I resigned myself to on screen buttons till I upgrade in another year or so.
Hey guys!
Just to be clear it is not a hardware issue I don't have any kind of a problem with the stock ROM. Everything fingerprint related works as it should.
The problem. I am able to set several apps to use fingerprint login (couple of banking apps and ebay app for example). Everything works fine until the first reboot or the first day. Then the apps suddenly stop to use (or see or detect) the fingerprint sensor. They either start with an error or give the error when I try to login with my finger. When I log in the app with a PIN code I can see the fingerprint login is disabled and when I try to re-enable it the most of the apps crash, some of them just repeat again the error. It's not that they don't recognize the fingerprint itself. They simply don't get that far - they can't use the sensor.
The problem for me is present in every custom ROM I've tried, no matter 8.1 or 9.0. I've tested Liquid Remix (9.0), Havoc (9.0) and Bootleggers (8.1)
On the other hand unlocking the device with fingerprint works always fast and perfectly fine no matter the ROM - stock or custom.
Just a little update here. I found another ROM that (so far) has no problems in regards of the fingerprint. The unofficial Pixel Experience.
So after updaing to android 10 ive been experiencing this issue. My fingerprint has been buggy basically:
Either the fingerprint light just doesn't appear and it says that i moved my finger or something(I had this issue on some custom roms, which is the reason why none of the custom roms stuck on me) or
the fingerprint lights up for a split second and then just disappears.
Anyone else having this issue?
TBH, it started working slow after i updated it to Android 10, but after removing and adding fingerprint again, now its even faster than Android 9.
Do you have "show taps" turned on in your developer options?
