Good Morning...I was hoping that someone can point me in the direction of a link on how to unroot my HTC BOLT back to original stock. Any information would be appreciated.
What you can do is run an ruu

I am in the situation that I want to go back to the original Magic ROM. Where can I find it and how will I back to the original and not rooted ROM?
Any One?
Am told that it is not easy to get it rooted, but I will at least just like the original ROM
I'd like to do the same! I rooted my phone with Haykuro's Magic rootme ROM and all has been well for weeks but now I'm receiving an OTA and it just keeps downloading without installing. I know I should have done a nandroid backup but I didn't and now I can't go back unless anyone can post a link to a stock HTC Magic ROM image (uk vodafone would be ideal but any HTC or Google standard image should be OK). Has anyone done a nandroid backup of a clean phone and willing to share it? Thanks in advance.
I found what I need here:

I've not tested it myself yet.
i just signed up to the forum and need some help. i have been searching posts and have not found the right answer just other ones close to it.
i recently purchased a used HTC magic (vodafone UK) and it has been modded. i'm looking to return it back to it's original form with the factory vodafone software/firmware that it came with or the most recent version that it is currently updated to.
another question i have is that the phone is currently unlocked... so if i return it to it's original vodafone condition will it lock the phone back to UK only or will i still have an unlocked phone ?
i know you are all going to say "why ?!!?!" it's so much better rooted and modded. but to be honest, i'm not into the modding scene and i know i will eventually sell this phone so would just rather have it factory.
if someone could email me the rom and point me to a step by step instruction that would be greatly appreciated.
thanks !

If you unroot, you will still have a subsidy unlocked phone.
Hello,
I just got myself a new Desire HD from eBay to replace my HD2. Unfortunatly when I got it it was branded to t-mobile even though auction said it was new, sealde and unlocked.
I have managed to permroot it. What do I need to do now? I tried to run the HTC latest firmwas for this device and comes up with error131 wrong customer ID.
My knoledge is very basic about this so any help would be grateful.
Thanks
Robert
If the phone wasn't as described then return it. Was it sealed in its box?
Can you make & receive calls?
If your trying to flash a Stock HTC ROM over a T-Mobile branded/locked DHD you will get an error.
Hi thanks for reply.
Yeah the phone did not say in auction that it wasbranded just unlocked and sealed. When I got it I could see that it had been opened as the tape that was used to seal the box wasn't sticky anymore and it had been inserted the wrong way round. It has obviously been opened to unlock it.
As the phone is unlocked I thought I thought I would be able to flash any stock rom onto it that is avaliable. I really don't want t-mobile logos on startup and there apps when I have a vodaphone sim.
Thanks again.
If you want a generic HTC ROM you will need to root & S-OFF your DHD. Guides are available in the Dev section.
If you need any help just let us know. There are quite a few friendly people round here.
Hay thanks for the reply !!
I managed to do the permroot thing. I was reading up on anything I had to do else. Which guide would you recomend to do the S-Off? Can I just run the HTC.exe rom then to install it?
I was also reading up on something called supercid do I need to do this as well?
Thanks so much!! It saves me loads of hassle trying to return it. That and am phoneless without it at the moment lol

Hello
Would just like to say thanks I managed to get the stock HTC rom on the DHD thanks too the help on here.
Was just curious do I need to reactivate the S-OFF to go back to S-On i presume? If I did that would I still be able to install new stock roms when they come out now there is a stock rom on phone?
Thanks so much again. This phone is great Android is so much better supported that Windows Mobile!

No problem at all.
If you flashed the Stock HTC ROM from the RUU, then it will have Security On (S-ON) If you want to flash a custom ROM, then you will need to go through the whole procedure again, but flash a custom recovery (Clockwork Mod), to make the the whole process safer and easier.
I have a my touch 3g 32B and I have the 2.2 Froyo update from T-Mobile. I am trying to root the phone because I do not like this update. Can someone please tell how to root 2.2 on this phone or how to go back to 1.6 Donut so I can root this phone. I am stuck and do not want to buy a new phone because I like this phone and I am short on funds as well. So if someone can please help I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!!!!
There's a few one step root programs out there that work for the update. Just Google it.
For a couple of days my camera started being blurry and without any detail/sharpness while taking pictures/ recording videos so i've decided to send it into warranty.
My problem is that I have to get my Wildfire to its original state, but I encountered some problems.
First off, does it matter if i use Froyo or Eclair RUU? I want to unroot if they won't give me a new device.
Second, must I use RUU for Vodafone Romania ( The country and carrier ) or can I just go to WWE ones? ( I don't remember my phone having anything installed or tweaked from VOdafone though )
Third and last of all, can anyone provide the files? As I am unable to find the RUU for Vodafone RO on the RUU list and the safe steps for going stock?
Thank you in advance.
ps: I knew there was a thread about unrooting and going stock...but I am unable to find it.

Thanks for your fast answer I believe this was the thread I was looking for.
Btw should I go for the 2.1 WWE RUU just in case, so if I keep this device to be able to unroot it again?

Dont worry about 2.1 or 2.2 Just do it.For now 2.2 is also rootable..
The problem is my phone always had S-OFF even though I bought it straight from Vodafone ( Romania ) even after Froyo Update and Hboot 00.2.
Does that mean that I can run the RUU dirrectly? Because I have not used Alpharev method to get s-off
Btw my Hboot version is 0.80.0007. Can I just go ahead and use RUU_Buzz_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2_22_405_1_Radio_13_55_55_24H_3_35_20_10_release_160191_signed EXE?
