Hey all,
I don't know what is my phone origin but all I know that it is still on December 2016 security patch and 6.0.1.
My info:
AP: G935FXUU1BPLB
CP: G935FXUU1BPJJ
CSC: G935FOJV1BPK2
I'm fed up of waiting.
My questions:
1- What happens if i flash via ODIN any 7.0 rom that I download from sammobile (say Poland's XEO)?!
2- Can I flash it without losing all data?!
3- If you find another more suitable rom that suits my info above, i'll be thankful!
I'm asking because, in the past, I used to do that on all my Samsungs without issues; yet nowadays I see lots of CSC talk that I don't really understand!
Thanks.

1. It's safe you do. I ever flash 7.0 BTU (obviously not my region)
2. Yes you can. Make sure select HOME_CSC ...
3. I do not know
You can flash any European firmware if your phone is unbranded and unlocked supposed to have international version G935F. Do not flash carrier specific ROMs. Flash all files in odin- ap,bl,csc, etc.from zip file downloaded from Sam.

There are 2 csc when you download the firmware
1. home_csc = your data will be safe
2. csc = your data will be lost (factory reset)

Hi well i did buy thes4 from a swedish reseller and i recieved the french XEF firmware i just wonder is it safe to flash the device with the uk evr version
of firmware couldn't really see why it should be any hassle and i want to do this thru odin then too i know there is firmwares available for kies too
But isnt it better to do such things thru odin in download mode ?
I have I9505XXUAMDN
and i want the I9505XXUBMG7_I9505EVRBMF5_EVR
Bought the phone from a swedish reseller and it wasn't that easy or fun to locate the settings for language in french lol when i inserted my sim
I have the same problem. I bought SGS4 from German reseller, csc is DBT, and I want to change German firmware to Polish with csc XEO. How can I accomplish that ? Is it the same procedure as in sgs3 ? I browse in Odin for firmware file in PDA field (phone in download mode off course) and just start the process ? I've heard that in sgs4 it is a bit more complicated, that I have to root phone first ? Is it true ?

You can flash any compatible firmware for your device with Odin 3.04, roms can be found here www.sammobile.com/firmware. They don`t have to be region specific.
You don`t need root to flash firmwares with Odin!
so you are saying that if I now have XXUBMGA (i think it is unbranded, but I have one doubt about it, after makin update some german apps was automatically installed in my phone - i can uninstall them) I can flash it to polish rom with odin just by putting rom into pda and check 'auto reboot' and 'f. reset time' and I wont kill my phone and csc will change to XEO and in future I will be able to udpate phone via kies or OTA ?

Yes, you can flash the XEO rom but you will not receive OTA`s for the XEO rom as the product ID will still be DBT. You will have to keep flashing future updated roms with Odin3.04.
Exactly, so my question is how to change to product code to xeo ?

Why would you? Changing the product code will surely kill your warranty as it is linked to your Imei number. OTA`s suck anyway, its better to flash the updated rom with Odin and do a data factory reset afterwards.
But i will lose everything after making factory reset, right ? Let's just suppose i dont care about warranty - in that case, how can I change CSC ? And maybe next question, I ment about it earlier - what about those apps which are installing after any update: -HRS Hotels, -Kauf.da and couple of others, how to make them not to install after updating my phone (I can uninstall them but they are annoying)
anyone ?
helloooo
Dear all,
we have the problem, that we are not able to change a Note 3 free EU version (for example from poland XEO) to a DBT version.
After starting the flashing process everything will stop after short time and Odin shows fail.
Do you have a solution for that?
Many thanks in advance,
Markus
Q&A no? reported!
The answer is simple: Don't flash other region firmwares on your Note 3. Simple

Which Odin-version did you use? For the latest phones, you'll have to use v3.09
Have a look at SamMobile:
Odin 3.09 https://hotfile.com/dl/248246506/848df76/Odin3_v3.09.zip.html
DBT-firmware http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=20383
After this, clear the cache and factory reset via POWER-HOME-VOL UP
Then the CSC should be changed to DBT
It was checked with different Odin versions, 3.09, 3.07 etc.
I have tested it with the BTU und DBT version now and both brick after few seconds.
The recovery of the XEO version works fine with odin.
I give up for today!
Nothing? Reallly no solution for that problem? ;-(
I never thought about putting a different region FW on any of my phones. What would be the advantage of doing so, despite than screwing up some bands so that the phone doesn't work properly anymore?
The advantage is that updates will come earlier, different functions between different FWs etc.

Have you tried to root it? Maybe DBT is yet on your device and with an app like CSC select you will be able to do what you want (be carefully as it is the best way to avoid your knoks warranty)
I don't want to root!
You can build your own tar without the bootloader. I think that it is the only way
How?

1, Dial *#1234# in your device.
2. Follow step 3 if appears this:

CP: I9505XXUGNG8
CSC: I9505OXAGNG8
3. Take a look that you have wrong firmware. Black Edition change the CSC for I9505YBTGNG8 . Flash the correct firmware (for your black edition one) knowing your correct CSC.
The reboots are caused by not deleting Knox.

Yesterday I tried to upgrade my Galaxy S4 (Canadian, Telus SGH-I337M) to lollipop. I came here and installed the latest Cyanogenmod successfully using the posted instructions. Unfortunately, BlueTooth wasn't working so I decided to uninstall it.
I then thought I'd try CM11 via their auto installer. After taking the phone back to factory settings, I ran the CM installer and got CM11 installed instead. Except with that, my phone lost all audio. No phone communication, no rings, nothing.
So I tried going back to stock and I downloaded and installed the 4.4.2 stock ROM... expect now I have no wi-fi functionality, and a couple of other weird behaviors like very, very slow screen response.
The most likely answer I've found is that somewhere in this process, I flashed the kernel and now my kernel is incompatible with my ROM. I've found what I think is the right kernel, but I can't install it. All of the instructions say to use ODIN, but ODIN restricts me to putting specific file extensions in the box, but these files come as .RAR or .ZIP, and the contents of the archive don't have any of the allowed file extensions (i.e. .BIN files).
At this point, my priority is just getting a working phone again by any means necessary - I don't care whether it's a custom ROM or not, I just want functionality on all of my phone at once! I'm not computer illiterate, but at this point I've outstripped my troubleshooting capability.
Help?

Try installing the stock ROM a second time over the top of your first install of the stock ROM. For some unknown reason installation through Odin doesn't always result in a perfectly functioning device the first time around. Installing the ROM a second time however tends to fix things.
Did you download your stock firmware from sammobile.com?
The firmwares from that site should work fine in Odin.
I've gone through a few stock ROMs. The one I'm working with now seems to be the right one. It's I337M_TLS_I337MVLUFNI2_I337MOYAFNI2_Original.zip
SamMobile says those are the right ones, and I have installed it over itself... repeatedly!
I've done more trouble shooting now and I have issues regardless of what ROM (CM12 or stock 4.4.2) I install. The issues between the two are different in some regards but in either case, the phone is more or less toast!
- Phone calls are VERY slow to respond in both (when I try to make a call, even though I know I have no audio capability).
- No audio at all
- on Stock 4.4.2, no wifi
- Screen is slow to respond on stock, particularly when dismissing the lock screen.
- On CM12, Bluetooth and wifi can't be enabled simultaneously
- CM12 won't play videos (didn't try on stcok)
What have I done?!
Update:
Using a different file recommended by Sammobile (they have more than 1 listed for this phone on their site), and DLing it directly from them , I seem to have stock functionality back. Yaaa!
The most recent ROM (ending in FNI2) didn't work but when I went back to a build about 6 months older (ending in FNC1) that one worked out.
I guess the question then remains: What went wrong, and is there a ROM that should theoretically work for this phone?
Thanks!

You are flashing wrong CSC maybe. Solution:

2. After a couple of OTA Updates overnight, the phone is now using firmware I337MVLUFNI2, which is the one I tried from SamMobile that failed, so I had to use a six month older build. which worked fine for some reason.
3. AP, CP, and CSC all show I337MVLUFNI2 now.
I'm now very reluctant to try any custom ROM on this phone after spending 30 hours worrying that I had bricked it! I tried about 5 different ROMs throughout this process that all had varying degrees of that same issue. Is the Canadian S4 SGH-I337M that much different from the i9505? Did I just screw something up royally? I'm happy that my phone is working now, but I'd still like to know what went wrong, or whether customs ROMs are an option for me.

Yes,
That seems to be the case, but should I have been safe in trying to install a custom Lollipop ROM? I'm kind of in a 'once bitten twice shy' state of mind now. I'd like to go to 5.0.2 but after this, I'm not so sure.

How you wish. But remember that Lollipop stock firmware for your device is a leak still or you can try with different custom roms. You will have BUGS. If the device was mine I will wait for the OTA updates but it's only my opinion. I'm not desperate for Lollipop :highfive:

Hey there! G935F is single sim version while G935FD is dual sim version. Seems you have got a single sim. F versions will work for you.
Regarding root. When you flash a new firmware file then you will lose root but that's okay you can again root it again. Just like u did first time.
I would suggest you to go with Odin to flash a file.
you can find the tutorial here:

Thank you for the quick reply @iamansar, I in fact have the Duo version. Will the file suggested by SamFirm work for my phone? (not mess up the dual sim, keep CSC as XSG?). Also regarding updating without losing root, I believe you are suggesting to flash FW using odin then redo the TWRP and Su steps?
Thank you!

I apologise, I didn't see that you mentioned that yours is G935FD w/ XSG.
It seems you can flash G935F file to FD phone and the firmware will recognise it as dual sim and you will get those features.
About root, well I must say I haven't tried rooting my S7 Edge yet at least till its covered under warranty. One thing for sure if while flashing stock firmware, you lose root privileges and you will have to root again.
You can use this latest firmware.

Have you tried connecting your phone with smart switch in you PC/Laptop with Windows/Mac? As you don't plan on flashing some other country firmware, I would suggest you can go ahead update you phone from there. This what I did today, Mine is XSG as well.

Thank you for the link. I have not tried doing so since my phone is currently rooted and I am afraid trying to update it officaly might mess up my phone. Also, if I flash the file you linked me using Odin, will I lose the TWRP?

Yes! you will. So, Instead of using Odin , It'll be better to flash the firmware using FlashFire as suggested in this tutorial, if you don't want to lose TWRP.
