With all that screen to touch, having this thing wake up in your pocket (or holster in my case) it bad - it registers keypresses all over the place, and so far it's deleted appointments and other fun stuff for me.
There is the screen lock (hold down right-most softkey a few seconds) but for me at least if an alert wakes the phone, the screen activates and looks normal, but all hardkeys are disabled. Can't even shut the phone down, have to hit the soft reset button, so conveniently located under the battery cover (argh, talk about dumb design choices...)
So anyone have any ideas on the screen lock? I'd even be willing to dedicate the left-most soft-key long-press to a third party lock, as long as it works properly.
u can use s2u2 IPHONE like screen lock
Hold the hang up button to lock, to unlock press the word unlock and a screen will apear saying To unlock device Tap unlock.
Yeah I did that, the hold hang up button thing... that's what's partly unlocking itself, which is a pain to say the least.
Gonna try Throttlelock. Haven't found any really Manila-lookalike skin yet but it seems to do what I want - lock the device - and even adds a little security.
And what about just clicking once on the power button after locking the device using the hold hang up thing?
Doesn't it does what you need? Press again to wake up the mobile?

No, what happen is: I hold down end call to get the device to lock. Then I tap the power button to close down the screen too.
However, a reminder kicks in and that brings the screen back online AND live, so touching it can do stuff. But, the device is still somehow "locked"... except the only thing that is well and truly locked are all the buttons. Power button, volume buttons, even the softkeys on the front, none of them do anything, but the screen works only too well.
There is now way I found to recover from that state except a soft reset. That boots the device - in locked mode, so I have to hit Unlock and then tap the button on the middle of the screen.
I need a lock that is lock, ie it doesn't activate the screen or buttons no matter what, until I unlock it myself. Looks like Throttlelock may be the answer though.
my phone has started to play up - if the screen dims (before it completely goes dark) if i touch the screen to "wake it up" it stays in its dim state and doesnt matter what i press it stays like this, only way is to press the power button to completely darken it and then press again to wake it up to full brightness.
And the programmes are ticked to close when the "x" is pressed as opposed to run in the background, but they dont close, they are still running.
i have checked and uncheked the feature in tweak, and soft resetted, but both problems remain, is there a fix? or a hard reset? im thinking of installing a new rom anyway
I don't know if I pressed the lock button while the active screen was activating or what.. but any time I tried to unlock the phone afterwards i was met with black screen.. but still got haptic feedback when pressing the area of the screen where the nav bar is.
i then held down the lock button to get the power menu (which i still couldnt see due to the black screen), tapped where i was guessing the power down button was, and then tried turning it back on, which worked.
hasnt happened since but it kinda scared me that it even happened in the first place and kinda pissed me off that a bug like this happened without any rooting ish being done.
Hi,
I was wondering if you could disable capacitive buttons and have on screen buttons (that don't cover the apps) on this device without root? I have heard the buttons get pressed accidentally.
Thanks
I want the same thing. because I always bumping the taskview button. I even rotated the display and use the tablet upside down ,so the buttons at the top. and I still bump it sometimes...
I don't know why, but all three soft keys (home and such) are non-functional anymore as long as they are at the bottom of the screen. Sometimes the phone phantom-clicks the middle button frantically by itself (what?!). When I switch screen orientation and the keys are at the opposite side, they work. BUT: when the keys are at the opposite side the area at the bottom of the phone has no problems registering my touches. Only when the soft keys are down there, they won't work.
This is still happening after a clean firmware flash with a different firmware.
Is there a demon in my phone? What the hell is going on?
EDIT: Yotaphone 2
EDIT2: Android 6.0.1, RU.
The same region works flawlessly on the lock screen. When I touch mic/lock/camera those will react. But once it's unlocked and I'm on the home screen the navigation bar won't work. Why is this happening??
