I have a rooted verizon galaxy S5 (towelroot) and cant get my ps3 controller to work with sixaxis controller app. I dont have the usb wire(USB OTG) that connects from the phone to the controller so i used the sixaxis pair tool that you download from there website. Has anyone tried and succeeded? Thanks.

does it say that the pairing tool should allow you to play with a Wireless PS3 controller if paired?

the compatibility checker says it should work.. i think hes just havin trouble since he cant figure out the pairing tool (is required step) which you plug ps3 to pc run the tool n change the address to the one the sixaccess apk tells you to set it to on phone and then you pair them up wirelessly via bluetooth..

Yes...I'm using the correct wire to pair(change bluetooth address) on my pc to the controller but you can also use your phone to do the same thing by using a special wire(USB OTG) just in case you don't have a pc. There's tutorials on you tube that I followed and they talk about doing both ways just in case you don't have the right stuff. I'm using the pair tool correctly, that's the easy part, it's the sixaxis app that is giving me trouble. I'm just thinking that the touch wiz on the S5's or somewhere along those lines is giving the app problems. It would be cool if someone can try it on there S5 then reply the results. Thanks.
This is the error
No controller found-please connect it via USB cable
I'm having the same problems. Emailed the Dev without reply so far. I read others are having the issue with the S5 as well but that it works on 4.4 on other devices.
Ok cool thanks for the reply. I emailed the dev also with no reply.
I had this same problem and solved it by flashing the XtreStoLite rom found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2732110
Now Sixaxis controller connects to PS3 controllers and recognizes the input.
I had the same issue with my att gs5 active. What I've found to work is reboot the phone. As soon as it boots go into the sixaxis app and hit start and hit the sync button on the controller. If it connects things are looking good but your not done yet. Wait about a minute or two and chances are the controller will disconnect. Then I hit stop and wait for it to finish (while your waiting hit the PS sync button on the controller) then as soon as you can hit start go ahead and hit it within a couple seconds. The controller should sync again and stay synced this time. I've even hit start then hit sync and that worked too. If you disconnect the app or do a step wrong you just have to restart and start over. I've played for an hour or two straight.

WHY DOES THAT WORK?
I allways want to find out why things dont work, but this is just laughable: restart phone, connect, get disconnected, stop server, start server, connect again.
If somebody could explain why that works id be really happy.
Also thank you SO much to give me (and all the others) that solution!
(I just made an account for that)

I believe you can use what they describe here under 'Method 1', essentially use an OTG cable to plug it in, then turn the controller on. I don't think you can unplug the controller from the USB cable though, you have to leave it in. http://www.pockethype.net/pair-ps3-controller-android-devices/
Personally I use a Wii U Pro controller with a wireless USB adapter, you might have luck with this PS3 to usb adapter using the 'xinput' setting from the same company: http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Controller-Adapter-Mayflash-Personal-Computer/dp/B00DSFW5MA
I have not used this adapter for PS3 controllers but the one they make for the Wii U Pro controller works perfectly.
Awesome.. tx!! gotta order me a cable then and give it a shot.
when we get root ,the app sixaxis controller will work for bluetooth control
Sixaxis is broken in lollipop even with root.

Sixaxis Working with Dualshock3
Sixaxis, after latest update, perfectly working with my Dualshock3.
But as you know the app uses root access to change some bluetooth mode/characteristics the Remote won't be working until Sixaxis is disabled or Nexus Player is restarted.

Ah.. so you have to disable sixaxis every time after you have used the gamepad. That sucks. Is that just how it is or can it be fixed you think, to have them working simultaneously?

I believe the dualshock controllers use some non standard or proprietary Bluetooth protocols. So to work with them the sixaxis controller app needs to change the nexus player Bluetooth to that non standard mode. So I am afraid that they will ever work simultaneously.

I think this is true of DS3 but not DS4. I am able to pair my DS4 w/ my Surface Pro 2 (Win 8), Laptop (Win 7), my Nexus 5 (on CM 11s), my friends OPO (CM 11s again) and my Droid Turbo (unrooted KK) w/ nothing special required.

As stated before you will need to root your NP and install the Sixaxis app to pair your DS4 with it. The point I was making earlier is that while the DS3 does have a proprietary BT protocol the DS4 seems to use a different protocol that works out of the box with Windows and Cyanogenmod but doesnt work with vanilla Android. Until someone comes out with a custom rom or kernel that builds in support for it, you will have to use the Sixaxis app to use PS controllers.
Well for some reason my ds4 is now connecting to my NP natively but input lag is horrendous. When I try to go back to sixaxis it tells me max clients connected. Now i can't use my ds4.will try to restore the np and try again.

Alright so I took my NP to factory specs, relocked and hen started from scratch again unlocking and updating and rooting. Now my DS4 is connecting properly through sixaxis. If you want to use a DS4 do not try to sync it straight with bluetooth yet it will cause problems, until it is supported properly through kernels or updates to bluetooth it will have some nasty input lag and be unusable.
Tried on day one, no go in my part unfortunately.

I had to factory reset but someone said that you can just restart bluetooth with adb. I am not sure what it is, try searching the threads.

I was thinking it was stuck also. So before I wiped, I figured to try turning Bluetooth off/on from terminal. That seemed to do the trick! Both devices showed back up under Bluetooth.
I used commands:

No need to DO factory reset !
Use a usb mouse or keyboard ( connected to otg adapter to nexus player ) and goto sixaxis application and click on stop , this will enable blue-tooth service for your original nexus controller.

simple power cycle will enable the nexus remote if you Just disable the sixaxis auto start on boot with currently paired DS3 , In sixaxis preferences> general settings > auto start.
I think the the nexus player ON BOOT will start pairing process , if no remote is paired.
or
you could use the pair button on the underside ( this pairing will not work if six-axis driver is running)
note : you can also pair any phone as remote for nexus player (but this Phone remote will only work for main launcher and apps , but not the in the games ).
Start the BT pairing from the phone (will find the nexus player in search BT devices )
this pairing will also keep the phone in unlocked state ( Trusted device feature ).

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, but I searched all over and couldn't find anything.
I'm having a problem keeping my WIFI connection when using the SixAxis app. It only stays connected for a minute or so and then goes back to LTE. And it won't connect back to WIFI until I disconnect from the app and turn on airplane mode or reboot.
Also, I'm able to connect and use my Dualshock 3 controller, but it doesn't connect to Bluetooth.
I'm running Resurrection Remix v5.2.9(LP 5.0.2) on my D800, if that helps any.
Thanks!
Are you saying that it's working with cable but don't work with Bluetooth? Did you used the SixaxisPairTool to pair your controller with your phone?
And I also have too that problem with WIFI, maybe it's a bug on Android L.

Yeah, it doesn't show that Bluetooth it's opened, but the app works well. I use a Dualshock 3 with ppsspp emulator and it's work great except those 2 bugs, I didn't even noticed that bug with Bluetooth until you said . As I told, maybe those bugs are only on Android L and they will be fixed

Is it possible to use an Xbox one controller on android, I have seen conflicting statements, and if not just staight up, is there any way to get it working. Thank you guys. I do know this is probably a question thats extremely stupid to alot of you and it means alot for this help. Thanks
That depends entirely on how you intend to connect it......
If you intend to use a 'wired' controller via the USB socket on the phone then yes it is possible....though you will need an app of some sort to 'map' the buttons correctly.
If you intend to connect wirelessly, then you're out of luck.....had it been a PS3 or PS4 controller, it would have been a different story.
The xbox controller transmits via RF signals whereas the Sony equivalent transmits via bluetooth.
We can pair bluetooth devices to the phone without issue....but that's not the case for RF devices.
The only reason I know this is because I went through something similar in order to use ePSXe to play PS1 games on my S5 ....In the end I had to get a Moga bluetooth controller to do the job......
Edit.....My bad.....I was commenting about xbox 360 controllers.....just noticed you have an xbox one controller......which connects via wi fi (I believe). That has possibilities.....have you tried connecting it by wi fi direct? If it does connect that way, you'll still need some method of mapping the buttons. It may be the case that someone needs to develop an app that makes the devices communicate with each other too....afraid I haven't looked into that though....never needed it....
Sorry fella...
Edit 2.....just done a bit of research, it turns out there is no 'native' support in Android for wireless controllers, you (apparently) need an interface app and/or a rooted device that you can add/change code on....

yea Microsoft made the xbox one S controller fully android compatible by firmware upgrade ( you need a cable and a app on pc or xbox one.)
and this controller is bluetooth compatible.making most xbox one original controller (and elite) obsolete.
Anyone have any info on getting the second edition of the Xbox One controller with built-in bluetooth to work on Android?
bump just finished doing the firmware update on my gamepad, reset it and my phone, still thinks my triggers are my right stick. nothing in the xbox accessories app to switch axis around. sigh.
Just an FYI you guys, the ps4 controller works with the s8+ via Bluetooth I'm using it now and I'm downloading some games for vr and games for emulators to test it out but it works fine and connects fine, I can use it to navigate on my home screen and I'll edit this post to see how the game play is. Just press the PS button and the share button at the same time and once it blinks go to settings on your phone and scan and connect, I had to do this twice for some reason but the second time it worked

Usb otg is better than Bluetooth no anolog lag
Bluetooth Controller Lag
I have attempted to use my roommate's PS4 controller and noticed some major input delay. I will attempt to move to an icon to highlight and open it, but it will take a second or two before it moves. Sometimes it will shoot past what I was attempting to highlight. The same thing happens when running Metal Gear Solid through FPse for Android. A 1 to 2 second delay occurs when I try to move or take any action.
I also have my own newer Xbox One controller. Has anyone played with that to see if it works better?

I was able to get it to work for me
Hello Iv'e been trying to make the ps4 controller work with my s8 for so long, i decided to see if connecting the included OTG adapter that came with my s8 to the Gear VR and it works the ps4 controller shows a blue light and lets me control the game, for some games you have to change the controller settings hope this helps everyone.
Did the phone have to be rooted? Older phones needed to be rooted. This is good news if no root is needed.
My org cable don't work no more. Can't mount anything and twrp doesn't show anything for mount otg. What do I do?
Samsung includes a USB C OTG in the box so use any controller you want or at least they do in Canada....
They also add it in the States as well.
It works, kinda...
I was able to successfully connect my PS4 controller to the android device. However, i was only able to play Asphalt 8 with. PES2017 didn't work. I am looking forward to more games that can work with the controller. Any recommendations?
Hi,
I've a Motorola Moto g5 and was just wondering if a PS4 controller was compatable with this phone? It pairs with my phone via Bluetooth but the controller itself doesn't work!
Does anyone know if it's possible to get it to work or is it just best to get an android Bluetooth gamepad? Looking for easier controls for my emulator.
Cheers.

No

I have tried using a moga controller through pivot. two separate ds4 (Bluetooth and usbc) and xbox one controller through the usbc. The moga successfully connects and works within the pivot app but loses all functionality as soon as you leave the app. The ps4 cont. Connect via Bluetooth but no inputs are received. Connecting ps4 cont. Via wire just charges the controller from my phone. And the Xbox one cont. Does nothing once plugged in. I just want one of these controllers to work so I can use them on emulators(i have tried many)
