Hey long story short I flashed the wrong UPDATE.app... twice (although the second time it error'ed as incompatible) and factory-reset my Huawei P9 Lite VNS-L22C636B101 so OEM probably most likely got locked again during this reset. however, I can:
1) Enter fastboot mode
2) Nothing else, it just gets stuck on the boot logo. (incl not able to get the boot unlocker code because I didn't record any important stuff like product Id before ruining my device)
any recovery methods? open to roots, custom rom etc.
step by step instructions will be appreciated too
Ok if you saved your Bootloader Unlock Code you can recover your phone this way..
You'll need:
A-OEMInfo: https:// mega.nz/ #!pgEDVJAB!1B_ipBD_toi4BPFPAn01iEnA1Da4aVC5Ru87Z45FbYU
B-Firmware: http:// update.hicloud. com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1164/g104/v64241/f1/full/update.zip
C-UnlockCode, you must have it from the last time you unlocked
D-Recovery
Steps:
1. Boot into fastboot (connect your phone to your PC over USB and reset your phone pressing Vol- and Power, when you feel the vibration release power button and keep Vol- pressed .. Try it as many times as you can, until you get into fastboot.
2-Once on fastboot unlock your Bootloader with command:
fastboot OEM unlock (UNLOCK CODE)
3-Once unlocked reboot to fastboot again and flash recovery (TWRP or Revolution, try as many as you can until you are able to boot into recovery repeating steps 3-4) with this command:
fastboot flash recovery recoveryfilename.img
4- Reboot your phone pressing Vol+ and Power button.. It should go directly to *Booting Phone* and boot into recovery.
5-Once on recovery connect the phone to your PC and upload the OEMInfo file to SDCard without decompressing it.
6-Uncompress the firmware file on your PC and copy UPDATE.APP to 'dload' folder on SDCard.
7-Install OEMInfo.zip file with Recovery.
8-Shutdown your phone with recovery options.
9-Turn your phone on with Volume Up and Volume down pressed while pressing Power button.. When you feel the vibration release power button and keep the other buttons pressed.. It should start to flash the firmware from your dload folder on SDCard.
10-once installed it'll restart your Phone.. If it asks you for an encryption password insert anything a couple times until it reboots the phone and factory resets the phone.
11-it should start to boot.. Give it about 20mins and you should be able to boot your phone
I hope this helps you man I saved my phone with this method more than a couple of times.. it's always important to have your Bootloader Unlock code in hand
thanks but..

TWRP is a custom recovery which you can flash it via Fastboot
And you can also fix your phone by flashing the system.img, data.img and boot.img using ADB

yep, now ad blocking apps will work without faffing around. and you can flash custom recovery permanently if you want.
====
download the "s off" file to your computer, and copy it to the folder on your computer where fastboot.exe is.
fastboot.exe is usually kept in the same folder as ADB.
32bit windows
c:/program files/android/android-sdk/platform-tools
64bit windows
c:/program files (x86)/android/android-sdk/platform-tools
you should have it in one of those, as you unlocked the bootloader.
then you can just follow the guide you linked to.
"fastboot mode" means the phone was switched off, and switched on while holding down the power button and the volume down.
then, you select "fastboot" from the menu on the phone, and plug a usb cable into it.
it is the same procedure, that you've already used to unlock the bootloader.
when the device is switched off, hold the volume down & power button in order for the phone to boot into the bootloader & connect the phone to the pc via usb (fastboot usb should now be displayed)
download the recovery_legend_5.0.2.8.img file and put it in the same folder on your pc as fastboot.exe & adb. then open the commandline on the pc, navigate to the folder that contains the fastboot.exe file (again, same procedure as with htcdev unlock - you might even use their unlock instructions step 5-7). then enter
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery_legend_5.0.2.8.img
in the commandline & the clockworkmod recovery image should be flashed to your phone.
you can access the recovery environment again by powering on the phone while holding the vol down button, choosing (with volume up/down buttons) & selecting (with the power button) the entry "bootloader" and in there "recovery".
from there you can do backups of your current system or install a new custom rom that is present on your sdcard in the form of a .zip file...

Search for stock recovery or TWRP recovery .img file on web. ( Remember, Google is your friend! ) Rename it to recovery.img and put it into the adb folder. Then, open a command prompt there ( as admin ) then type: cd <directory to adb folder> e.g. cd C:\adb then boot into fastboot mode or bootloader and then type: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img . Now it should flash a new recovery to your recovery partition.
P.s. You need to unlock your bootloader! But you need to backup your files cuz this is going to delete them!!! Go to setings> slide down> click on about your phone> click 7 times on build till you see a message like: "You are a developer!"> then click back button> go to "Developer settings"> and find an option called: "Oem Unlock." toggle it> Then go to fastboot mode or bootloader mode and in fastboot type: "fastboot oem unlock" or "fastboot oem go-unlock" then click "Yes" when prompting. BUT you can also boot in edl mode and flash it without unlocking bootloader. To do this, try power combinations, or go on google and search for them. It may also happen that you don't have an EDL mode, so you'll have to unlock the bootloader. So: What you have to do.
1. If you have a locked bootloader, unlock it.
2. Get a recovery image ( img. ).
3. Flash it!
Well that's it! Hope you understand me! Happy flashing!

Okey so i guess you bricked your device when trying to flash twrp or when you downloaded stock recovery and now your device is bricked and you are getting heartattack while searching for fix and answers. Every time you press power button the device vibrate and turn off just so it can turn on and again show same message. Okey so here is your answer.
Step by step
1) Connect your device to your pc via usb (we will need to flash twrp)
2) Press the power button and when phones vibrate fast press and hold only volume down button
3) You are in fastboot now
Here is working TWRP
I tested this method on my Huawei P9 Lite VNS-L21 on Nougat. I hope that i helped you in some way here at least you know how to get into fastboot and if you bricked your device i assume you know how to flash TWRP recovery
Download Minimal ADB Fastboot
Go to C:/Program Files (x86)/Minimal ADB and Fastboot.and copy TWRP recovery in this folder
Then open “MAF32.exe” by double clicking and type this command ” fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.1-0-venus.img ” and press enter
That's it you are done!
I can post here, if you want, how to downgrade from nougat to marshmallow so you can get stock recovery and the update will lock your bootloader so you can still claim your warrianty if you ever need it
I can post link to files there are just 2 files that you need to flash through dload (better put file in internal it's faster)
So, I followed anandmore's thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-2/how-to/ultimate-guide-redmi-2-users-rooting-to-t3294212:
I did following commands in fastboot mode -
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot
But after rebooting, it gets stuck on MI logo. What should I do?
Can you get into recovery? I don't remeber what button combination it is on stock rom, but on custom is it VOL UP + VOL DOWN + POWER, when phone light up, release power button and keep holding the volume buttons
The commands you need are
fastboot devices (for recognise the device)
fastboot flash recovery file.img (you can change the name file if you want, to be easy)
fastboot boot file.img (this command is necessary for the first boot into the new recovery flashed)
You need open the CMD ADB/Fastboot in the same file folder with the recovery.img, if not, not works
Hi, I had the same as you. You need to press the buttons as the other user said (volume up + down + power), when the phone is off. And hold them until you see twrp.
(FYI, the phone will boot with miui logo, then it takes maybe 15-30seconds to show twrp, you need to hold all the time I think, until twrp shows).
Thank you B.Paiter !!
"fastboot boot file.img (this command is necessary for the first boot into the new recovery flashed)" did it for me !
Hi I was looking for a solution to fix my p10 lite that when restarting in twrp or eRecobery it threw black screen and restarted and remained in bootlogo
My device is the Was-Lx3, which was more difficult to give alone since I could not find a system and I could find one for my model and thanks to the fastboot commands it was restored from the factory
Link of the rom that I downloaded and it worked
https://mega.nz/file/DFhziCjI#c1vkVdcvKj3mR_wBb3Kbe_BAA5HUYaCtJVFLkUt9rLk
The steps is:
1 download the rom and unzip the rom
2 leave the device in fastboot mode and run Adb FASTBOOT
3 Flash the .img files I will leave the commands below
fastboot flash boot (drag the file and enter)
fastboot flash cust (same drag and enter)
fastboot flash recovery
fastboot flash system
fastboot flash userdata
ending with the flashing without disconnecting the phone Press buttons button power plus Vol + for 10s and you can enter eRecobery and download the last system you have and ready it will start normal
Even if you have the device without battery, it still works without battery, just do not disconnect the phone and doing all these steps and once the device has been restored, it will start to charge normally. I would like you to give the thank you button if it works if you do not comment below
