Theres a new camera firmware update now for galaxy s2.
First of all please check your existing camera firmware version by typing *#34971539# and then press Phone/CAM FW Ver Check.
Then you can either get the apk from Samsung Apps application on your phone. Or download the firmware update apk which I have attached to this post. The application should tell you if your camera needs the update or not.
To get from Samsung Apps Click on Featured Tab then click New. Then choose the Galaxy S2 Camera Firmware update application. If you can't find it go to search and type 'camera' or something.
Click download then run it.
Then do *#34971539# again and check your Phone/Cam Fw version.
Then everyone please post like below :
Please post both values it gives you. Your Cam FW and Phone FW
Before update:
Cam FW : OCED11
Phone FW: OCED11
On Firmware : KE7
After Update :
Cam FW : OCEE09
Phone FW: OCED11
On Firmware : KE7 (UK Generic)
You could also post if you notice any new changes with the camera
On another note : Is it not possible to dissassemble the camerafirmware apk below, and find out whats changed / or find out anything interesting ?

Hmmmm I want to know why I have Cam FW : OCEE09 .
Everyone else who seems to have the OC cam firmware seems to have TB for phone firmware.
But my phone firmware is OCED11 . I not seen anyone else who has that.
Anyone else get the same result as me ?
Focus still sux in samsung's app but it works very fine in vignette. macro focus can focus very close as it should be. happy with that. i suspect scanning barcodes works ok now also... didnt test
didnt notice anything else

I've decided against uploading the apk because there maybe a reason it's not available to everyone. Don't want to be responsible for people bricking their camera.

Your upgraded version is wrong format, too many characters. Should be 6 characters long.

After installing it's deleted, I had saved it before applying the update but deleted it after deciding not to upload it.

This was my first camera firmware update. It came out of the box with OCED11 on May 16th.
Everyone I have seen seems to have the one standard Phone FW at least : TBEC28 .

The phone was released with two different camera firmware: TBEC28 and OCED10. Don't know why as they both appear to be using the same camera modules.
Before update:
Cam FW : OCED11
Phone FW: TBEC28
On Firmware : KE2 (German sales code)
After update:
Cam FW : OCEE09
Phone FW: TBEC28

One question... When you type that code, open camera, etc. do you listen a "clack clack" from de camera?

I don't know if is worth the update...

Don't get misled by the number ANG2 and ANG9 just because its higher doesn't mean its newer it is just a carrier or country release version of the original, you need to look at the change list values to see if its newer, if you connect to Kies and it says you have the latest version then you do have the latest version, you can check here if you want.
SamsungUpdatesArchive
The change list for all ANG2, ANG6, ANG9, they are all the same, if you feel you are getting something better then update to the ANG9 but the phone wont operate any differently and if you do update make sure the CSC is compatible with your location otherwise you will find that the data or calls or both will not work.
Hi,
Love my 870DS on V10C TWN but dismayed at lack of a OTA to bring it in line with other regions.
I have read about CIS firmware that can be (manually?) Flashed... But what's the difference between CIS and 'non CIS' firmware? Is it 'safe' to upgrade this way? Any loss of functionality?
I installed LG Bridge on my Mac FYI. Is this the tool to use to flash firmware?
Thanks.

From what I've noticed, CIS version is lighter compared to other versions.
I've installed cis firmware last night..u have 2 apps from Russia ...in rest some changes ..faceprint unlock,4g icon is on top on of the signal bar..but I can manage to get 4g+..even b3 and b20 for Vodafone Romania are suported.
Thanks everyone,
So will this CIS version get it's own OTAs or does it require constant re-flashing to newer versions?

Constant re-flashing because it is not the original firmware that your phone came with.

But how would the phone know this when it has been reflashed? Does it have some sort of built-in counter or hardcoded region assigned to it?
The phone has an IMEI, and the IMEI has been assigned a region.
