Huh. I have a successful Ethernet connection on the np. However I cannot get any device to connect to the np via Google cast (or dlna). I know the problem is almost certainly that the devices and the np don't think they're on the same internet network connection. I can find no information about the np Ethernet connection anywhere. Most comments don't even cover Google cast and Ethernet. Is the Ethernet connection and the Google cast connection supposed to work automatically? If so, it doesn't and there's seems to be no help on it anywhere. I read something on the many pages discussing pc issues with this that igmp needs to be adjusted on the router but my router has no igmp option. Has anyone here got Google cast working via Ethernet on the np? Thanks very much.
Prior to 6.0, casting worked fine even when connected to Ethernet. The first build of 6.0 worked fine with casting but subsequent updated do not. If o had to guess, I bet it is the result of a cast app update that broke the feature.

Hello,
my Huawei Watch only keep connection to my phone via bluetooth while I expected it also keep connection via wifi.
Did I receive bad info from the seller? I hoped that I will not be only depending on bluetooth for connection.
Thank you for any help.
I've got the same problem with my Zenwatch 2.
Which operating system are you using? If you paired it with ios wifi function is disabled
Android 5.1.1

It's just android wear. Very beta still, Google isn't really making anything more stable.
Smartwatch 3 user here, wifi only works when Bluetooth is disabled. It's super annoying.
Yup, same here no connection when connected to Wifi. Cloudsync is turned on too, if that makes any difference.
Hello, I have two APs in my appartment for better coverage. They have the same ssid and password. My previous phone used to switch to the other AP when I entered the other room where the first AP has weak signal and the second has good. But Galaxy does not want to do it and keeps the connection to AP with bad signal. Why? If I switch toggle wifi off and on it connects to the proper AP with the best signal, but it cannot do it on the fly. Function smart network switch does not seem to do anything with this because it is for switching between cellular and wifi...
Try it ( smart network switch ). It helped me resolve same problem.

They advised me this in samsung community but it did not help even after few minutes of sitting next to AP which I expected it to switch to. My previous Xperia Z5 compact does not have a problem with it. Also this function seems to be only related to switching between cellular and wifi according to it's description.
Anybody can test this or confirm please?
it works perfectly on my s8+. We've got 15 AP's with the same SSID and password. I am walking between them and calling skype

One more thing. We're running 5GHz wifi
Ok. It seems that something is wrong with wifi connection. My other phones don't have that problem. Sometimes it works w/o problems, next time i got no signal and stuck with lte.

So suddenly it started to work Maybe it took some time for this intelligent network switch toggle on to start working. It is not 100% reliable though if I walk from one side of the appartment to another it seems it not always switches. But most of the time it does. So this function is also for switching between wifi APs indeed. Toggling it off seems to make the phone still hold on to one AP
I updated my phone to android 9 pie yesterday and when I tried opening Netflix it started giving error messages such as restart the app. After restarting the app the message changes to restart the device which also didn't work. I cleared all the data after force closing the app but to no avail. I then uninstalled Netflix and tried to reinstall it but guess what it didn't show up on play store. I then tried googling for Netflix app and from there I opened the play store link which showed that Netflix is not compatible with my device.
I contacted Netflix they said Netflix app is not compatible with latest android which I think is not correct as one of my friend is using Netflix on android pie device. Let me know if anyone else is also facing this issue.
I've just tried it on my phone. First run gave me some "device error" and app closed. When I opened it again, I logged in and am able to play a movie without problems. I'm rooted with Magisk and hiding Magisk from Netflix, not sure if it makes any difference.
Download and install it from apkmirror.com
For me, it does not work anymore in wifi at home (fttc, about 33 mb/s), but it works on 4g and even 3g, and it works at a friend's place with WiFi (connection fttc about 80 mb/s). Amazon prime video, Italian Infinity TV and other streaming services do work properly.

Same here. Got error 'device error' a few times. Then the app restarted and I had to login again. Then it worked.
I guess it is their DRM that gets confused about Android getting an update.
No problem at all in my Mi A1, unrooted with stock android

It seems to be dependent on the network. For me, at home the Netflix app displays its content, but as I try to watch a movie it is stuck forever, and is OK in 4g. If, from the preferences, I test the network, it says that "Netflix Android Server" is unreachable (OK in 4g). From the WiFi at work, everything is OK. From a friend's WiFi, it's OK. Of course all other streaming video app I have (e.g. Amazon Prime Video) work correctly everywhere. It seems to be a problem where local network configuration and provider play a role.
At home, I should try to connect to the network via an USB-Ethernet adapter (I have one which work with Android) and see what happens: if it works, it is a WiFi problem, otherwise it's a problem with the router or the provider.
Another thing to do would be to observe the actual (attempted) exchange between the phone and this "Netflix Android Server" using some network analyzer, and see what happens.

right now i'm having a chat with the netflix customer service. they are trying to figure it out too.
seems funny, because i have flashed back to stock oreo, used the same wifi, and loaded netflix. no problem.
i used pixel experience rom, same wifi, no problem too.
i revert back to stock January pie update, and it just wont log me in. if i use 4g to login, it will be stuck when loading the video stream,
add MSS clamping to the router settings

Hi
I also upgraded my mobile from 8.1 to 9 with january patch and saw that netflix no longer working when over WiFi. So i searched over Internet and saw somewhere a post saying we should enable MSS clamping in the router, i Think this was on a DD-WRT forum.
I have a Ubiquity ER-X as soon as i enabled this on my router netflix worked again. So have a look at the router settings
nevertheless something changed indeed in the System of Android Pie that messes up probably the TCP protocol
Hope this helps you also

HEY GUYS I THINK OUR VOICES HAVE BEEN HEARD!
after tirelessly searching the internet to this exact problem i have been facing, someone has brought up this issue to the devs at Google, it was something in Android P causing this problem with WiFi.
here you guys can read about the details here, not only Mi devices are affected, other android one devices also do too.
https://piunikaweb.com/2019/01/16/n...phone-with-wifi-android-pie-could-be-culprit/
so i guess we can wait for a update fix soon
Lowering the MTU size from 1488 (the default) to 1480 on my router appeared to "solve" the problem almost instantly.
For reference, I followed the steps detailed both in How to find the proper MTU size on D-Link router? and in the user manual, which boil down to:
Run ping to determine the maximum packet size by trial and error:
Code:
ping -f -l size
. In my case, the optimal size was 1460.
Determine the MTU size as packet size + 28 = 1460 + 28 = 1488.
Set a sligthly lower MTU value in the router configuration.
