[Q] question before updating firmware!

hi,
im using this http://droidviews.com/2013/how-to-install-latest-official-firmware-on-samsung-galaxy-s4-all-models/
to udpate my s4 firm ware for app2sd and other stuff but
when i connect my phone to pc whit kies says CSC in THR that i read is iran!
andorid version 4.22 moddel number i9500
base band version I9500XXUAMDK
Build number JDQ39.I9500XXXUAMDK
can i sue this ?
and can i change my csc to get the firmware update?

I guess the easy way will be get the firmware from the link and flash it using Odin 3.07 it wont affect the warranty etc

i didnt understand what is csc what is frimware version and..

no i want to update my s4 not get the firmware! i want to ahve new realeased firmware for app 2 sd and fix purple effect when scrollng

the update is not avaible here in iran
when i go to about>>update i see no updates! thats why!

Yes i too saw that for u havent got an update yet u myte have to wait may be
And yes u can flash latest country firmware will work just make sure u its for I9500

If u are already rooted u wont get update using kies or from ur phone
u have to use Odin to flash a latest firmware thats the option

yay so i will download a anothers country firmware and my simcard still works? and for warranty and stuff i have to flash stock?

Yes u can flash other country firmware and still use ur sim card without issue
And after flashing the firmware u can root the best method is CF-AUTO ROOT
And just to be safe take a backup of EFS folder

No thats the only option we get u ll have to use that only it does gve a good speed max it will take a 1.30 hour for download

No you won't be able to unroot for that also u need to put stock firmware and again reset the device from ur phone that will be complete stock without issue

Ya it has but mostly u ll still have custom on ur device status which will not allow u to have OTA

Note 3 network problem

Hi all
I have Note 3 SMN-9005 which has a problem with all network operators here in Egypt. I keep getting messages saying not registered on Network . (note :and i still have my IMEI) , this problem regularly happens when i'm outside,so i can't call or text anyone, and also only Emergency calls appears on my lock screen.
i tried to change SIM card and it didn't work,I rooted and changed the stock ROM and it was the same,
i even change network operators search to manual but I don't find my service provider,even if i found it it keeps registering but with no result,
please help!!

Correct modem/baseband and CSC for your network ??
IMEI matches the one under the battery ??

the IMEI does match the one under the battery!
as for the correct modem/baseband i don't know what that even means but i haven't changed anything to the modem,
I returned to sock ROM today ,but i still lose the signal as it did with the NORMA ROM.and the problem still exist.
wht should i do??

i had exactly the same problem. Found a .zip file somewhere here and flashed it in Recovery, my problem ist gone now.
Luckily i saved it on my sd card and uploaded it for you.

Yes.and the process was successful. But it was of no use.could it be a hardware problem?..wht drives me crazy that the signal sometimes work and sometimes not.
I downgraded it to kitkat. And I still have the same issue

I recenly flashed Stock 4.4.2 Kitkat Android,and the problem happened with 5 too,

The modem you are using is from lollipop so that the network will not be fully working.
You have better to flash the latest version of official lollipop rom.
If the problem still install this modem by odin

But the most important thing to flash the latest official lollipop firmware.

The lollipop rom you will install its PDA or CSC name should end with OK4

Volte after Rooting

I rooted my Galaxy s7 edge and flashed the stock firmware and now I don't have the option to enable volte on my Roger's s7 edge. Any ideas would be great..

Root it and install some other CSC file which has VOLTE

Can u send a link to where I can find it

Click on others.xml
Open with a text editor app like Quick edit..
Copy and paste this text on that page..

After copy and paste in the csc file of you phone company my company is Rogers but your could be different go in to the right file…. everything reboot your device and the option should be there.. I deleted XAC and all its contents…

I had the same problem of yours and nothing helped me even editing the xml files.. So I used phone phone info to change my CSC, after that I factory reset my phone and I got voLTE immediately after reseting it even before selecting the phone language

Hey Guys, please help me out here... I have a US TMobile variant s7 edge, flashed SM935U however unable to use VoLTE.. I have been told that I cannot flash an Indian firmware, isnt there any other solution out there that can help me enable VoLTE.. Im using a calling app to make and send calls/sms.. someone pls helppp...

If the local carriers don't support VoLTE, nothing you do can allow you to use it.

The local carrier supports ONLY VoLTE hence making it imperative for me to enable VoLTE!! Any solutions??

Don't flash BTU. Your phone will be bricked. As all International models are in exynos you can't flash an exynos Rom over snapdragon

For VoLTE you need an Indian localized rom (for Samsung usually the local unbranded one works, too). Since in India the Exynos variant is distributed you will have a hard time to find a suitable rom for your Snapdragon one. If your provider does not have any app based solution you may be out of luck.

Volte mobile is good i love all features and speed of this phone. I like its work fast and did not hung.

I was in the same boat... Just flashed a U firmware over USA model and rooted it.
Then via flashfire, Flash this CSC Which was basically pulled out from S8 CSC selector file by @Tkkg1994
VoLTE should pop-up after reboot.
Even wifi calling toggle comes up but Jio is yet to implement the feature (Don't turn it on... you'll miss calls when on wifi)

Why can't you root? You can't use this CSC via Odin.. it's a flashable zip.

YES! It doesn't matter what the CSC is. It changes depending on your SIM card.

Does this have Wifi Hotspot setting? I flashed Canadian unlocked ROM on an unlocked Sprint S8+ plus but Hotspot setting is gone now.

yep. It goes to the CSC settings of your service provider.

Home csc won't erase downloaded files when used in Odin. While csc will.make you set up your phone like its new again.
