Nexus 6P Version: North America or Rest of world?

Dear Nexus 6P user,
I bought a Nexus 6P without original box from ebay, how could I know/check which version is my Nexus 6P? In Bootloader mode I saw "Product/Variant: ANGLER-ROW-VN1", would it be the version for Rest of world? Or, there are some methods to check it correctly? Thank you very much for any help.

Umm, the EU model does have capacitive buttons. Not sure where you've got your info from
I'd recommend the US version of the phone purely because of the support from ZTE to that market. The additional features on the 6GB china version like force touch doesn't justify the trouble you may face from a software perspective. Go with the US version if you can.
My bad
checked amazon germany it has Capacitive button
Thanks for your suggestion
but us model doesnt support b40 lte band
this is the only thing backing be from buying this model
else this thread wouldnt have appeared
in 2017G ,stock rom of 2017u can be flashed?
I suppose you can flash the ROMs interchangeably but I've read that some had some functionalities missing . You can follow @DrakenFX ROM thread which has all the info you need. Considering the EU variant doesn't have an unlocked boot loader yet, flashing ROMs isn't the straightforward solution, let alone flashing a ROM not meant for that variant.
On a side note, the EU one albiet costly, has a 3 year warranty. Of course you and me, cant avail that anyway.
The US is suppose to get the 6GB model in the 4th quarter I think.

Different model numbers

Are A2017(Chinese) , A2017U(US) and A2017G(Global) three different device model numbers (hardware wise)?
OR
Are they three different firmware numbers that can be flashed on same hardware device?
They are different devices for different regions
And with the locked bootloader they aren't able to be flashed to different region.
Each have different bands for phone too...

Thank you for the quick response.
So I presume the A2017G global firmware cannot be flashed on c Hines model A2017.
I am planning to buy the chinese model A2017 for use in Singapore. I Have verified that it does support the LTE network bands used by Singapore telcos. The seller on aliexpress confirmed that it will work in singapore and has English language and all Google apps
Would that be a wise thing to do or should I buy the global device model A2017G?
Would you happen to know out of A2017 and A2017G, which model has better
Dev support on xda? (From the perspective of rooting, unlocking, AOSP Roms etc)

Both.
Hardware-wise, the three models are banded differently, and support different cellular connections. For example, the US and China models have CDMA support, while the Global model is not banded for CDMA. The three models have differing LTE bands as well (US model tailored to LTE bands used in North America, Global model tailored to bands used in Europe/Asia, etc).
Software-wise, they're pretty similar, but there are some differences. For example, the Global model has lowered audio output (compared to US model) potentially due to EU regulations. On the flip-side, the Global model has a special menu option for "Glove Mode", to make the phone easier to use when you're wearing gloves, which is omitted from the US model. The US model has an included theme called "Stock Android", which is missing from the China and Global models. The China model does not come with Google Play services by default, because China.
Support-wise, ZTE USA has a community forum that employees participate in to answer questions and whatnot, as does ZTE China. ZTE Europe, however, does not seem to, and can only be contacted via phone/email.
Someone here on XDA was able to flash the Global model's ROM on a US model, but had to specifically flash the US model's modem in order to get cellular working. However, it might have been because the US model can be bootloader unlocked, so the US model can be flashed with other ROMs. The Global and China models don't have official bootloader unlock yet (I'm not entirely sure if the unofficial method posted here on XDA works on the Global and China models)
Thank you for the detailed response. Much appreciated.
Does anyone has any pictures with that stock Android theme?

Search for Axon 7 reviews on Youtube. Any review that shows a white Android app drawer icon in the middle of the nav bar is a US unit using the Stock Android theme.
Damn I'd love that stock interface. Now I'm running Pixel Launcher.

Questions about updates

Hi
My Axon 7 2017G (I'm in South East Asia) haven't been getting any updates. My phone was on Marshmellow 6.0.1 with no OTA impending.
So after searching around on the internet I downloaded and updated to 7.0 from German ZTE website.
My current version is ZTEA2017GV1.1.0B01 and I can't seem to update any further
I have tried downloading 7.1.1 sd package but the phone can't pick it up.
So, can I update any further?
Not sure of the correct answer as I am new to Axon 7 also, but there are likely different versions for different geographical regions. I'm on B04 Nougat in Australia, no OTA on that yet.

First, I believe OTAs are are IMEI dependant. I have seen for example some German people having to send their IMEI to ZTE Germany in order receive OTAs.
As for the update packages, you should be able to install them. You must make sure that the update.zip is at the root of the SD card, not in a folder on the SD card. In addition, often when you download the update, the actual update.zip is in another zip file. In this case, you need to extract the update.zip from the zip file you downloaded, to the root of the SD card. Then the system update service will find it.
Finally, are you sure you have a real A2017G, and not a converted A2017? I believe there are cases of people buying A2017Gs from aliexpress or other sites, that are in fact not real A2017Gs. This could have an impact on the updates working or not.

I'm sure it is a real A2017G if the text on the back of the device is to be believed.

Indeed, if the sticker on the back says so, it is most likely true.
Wait, what? I thought there was only one type of A7 with just the 4Gb or 6Gb variants in international or Chinese. What's the difference between all the models?
I assume G and U is general and US so software enables different cellular bands?
Mine is a G, bought genuine retail from a shop.
Hi, there are three kinds of AXON 7: 1, A2017 is for china; 2, A2017G is for international, usually for Enuroean; 3, A2017U is for American.

What, exactly, is a "A2017X"?

I know there are 3 models for the A7:
A2017 (China)
A2017U (US/North America)
A2017G (Global/Europe)
But I have never heard of an A2017X model. Is it just a term that generically refers to any A7, regardless of region? Or is it specific to a certain model?
I'm mainly asking this because I want to know what people say when they use this term. And also because I am looking at some posts/files by @raystef66 and @djkuz on XDA and AndroidFileHost. Mainly I am interested in the Oreo B12 EDL package by @djkuz. He lists an A2017U and A2017X version of this file. I have an A2017U, just wondering which file is correct for my model.
Thanks!

The A2017X is just referring that the ROM can be flashed on all different versions. Although you have to consider flashing the appropriate modem.
The X means in this case, the firmware is universal flashable for all axon 7 variants ( a2017G,a2017V,a2017)
Thanks for the clarification, guys!
