I was using my galaxy s8 like normal. Listening to google play music, scrolling through twitter. It was at like 8% battery then it just rebooted, whatever didnt think much of it. But now its at the white Tmobile screen with the LED a solid blue. I cant get it past this screen. Holding the power button doesn't force it to reset. Any one else have this issue before?
did you try to hould power and vol. down for about 10 sec...?

Soft reset with hardware keys
A soft reset is a simulated battery removal. This is used to power a device off when the screen is frozen or unresponsive and the device it has an internal battery that cannot be removed. It does not cause loss of personal data on the device.
1. Press and hold the Power and Volume down key for up to 45 seconds.
2. Wait as the device restarts.

I have a Samsung GT-S7390 phone. And now it seams dead. This is what happened.
I was using Google play to install Badoo and suddenly the screen went black and then gradually turned to completely white. It was unresponsive. No reaction on holding power button, or home button for a short or long time.
I didn't know how to turn it off and I didn't know a combination for a reset. So I pressed power, home and volume down buttons at the same time. The phone turned off and since then it is dead.
I tried to take out the battery for some time, take out sim card, tried all the combinations of buttons and did nothing. It is dead.
Does anyone knows what might happen to it?
Any answer is better then no answer. Please help.
Thanks!
Wife's S7 locked up with a black screen, but the capacitive buttons still lit up and volume adjustments made the normal sounds, etc.
This is normally where I'd do a battery pull, but of course the S7 is a sealed system.
Hold volume down + Power for 5 seconds and it's the functional equivalent of a battery pull.

Thanks, had mine lock up a few times actually. I'm hoping it's not hardware related but this phone is pretty new so certainly could be software causing lock ups.

My screen just died (had the purple / green dots all over the display before it died) and I am going to send it in for a repair.
Is there an easy way to factory reset my phone? I was able to backup my pictures etc, phone is still turned on. Screen is just turning green when I unlock it.
Hi,
Boot into recovery by powering your phone down and turning it on holding the power+volume up+home buttons, then wait a bit (to be safe wait around 1min). If you can see the screen is black, that means the recovery menu started (before it, the screen will be blue), now tap the volume down button 4 times - exactly 4 times to select factory reset option -, tap the power button to select the option, now tap volume down exactly 1 time and power button one last time. Your device will be factory reset .
All the best,
~Lord

For my opinion LCD has to be changed. Due drop or in your pocked from high pressure i think its gone ...
Since as you said phone is working you can take pictures or receive calls but screen is always black.
Can you see its black color or screen isn't turning at all.

S7 Edge BSoD Extra Info. needed
Hi,
Phone: I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge SM-G935FD
I was using my phone to send a txt (and at the same time I think I was receiving a text or call because the menu and back touch buttons were lit up) and all of a sudden the phone crashed as I tried to finish my text but the touch wasnt responding, then the backlight turned of like it does if the phone is not being used. But the strange thing was that the menu and back touch buttons stayed lit up (Solid).
I tried many methods to restart the phone:
Power button + volume down (FAILED)
Power button + volume up (FAILED)
Power button + volume down + Home (FAILED)
Power button + volume up + Home (FAILED)
So I thought I'll let the battery die and then recharge and hopefully the phone would automatically restart like normal, however the phone does not show sign of charging now.
So I tried to connect to the PC but it wasn't being recognized however when I press and hold the power button a sound of detecting a device sounds and then when I take my finger off the sound of detaching occurs. But I couldn't see anything happening, until I went into device manager, under "Other Devices" , "Exynos8890" appears which I know is the chipset.
This is as much as I know of the problem. How do I solve thins problem without trying to factory reset the phone and lose all my data?
PS: I didn't backup my photos (My baby children only copies) or Notes in NotePad, which has some very important info.
I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary - just watching some YouTube videos and attempted to turn on my Bluetooth to connect my bluetooth speaker, all of a sudden the phone froze and then it went to a blackscreen and the blue LED was stuck on, now the LED has changed to white yet the condition is the same - blackscreen and doesn't respond to any button presses. Is there any way to force restart this phone via computer? It's my only phone right now and it's detrimental that I get it working as soon as possible.
Note: I have no custom firmware or ROMs, I use the default of what's with the phone.
Thanks in advance,
Tyrone.
Try every button press combination for 1-2 minutes (Only the power button, Vol-Down and power button or all at the same time). To see if you can get it to hard reset or go into fastboot.
Apart from that, there shouldn't be much else to do, apart from waiting until the battery drains out or something.
