From the information I have found, it seems common that the S7 Edge has fewer bars than other devices due to that Qualcomm technology I don't remember the name.
However, what I'm finding worrisome is that, for example at the same spot, my girlfriend's S7 Edge has -120dBm 20 asu and my Moto Z Play has -100 dBm 40 asu. It's a very considerable difference, so I'm wondering whether her device is faulty or actually is the s7 edge that has so poor signal strength.
She also told me that at her workplace, where she has always had good signal on her Nexus 5, now sometimes she's not even able to make/receive calls.

Anyone else noticing also if edge has a stronger signal, phone will drop h and go to edge? ! I have 2 bars h and my phone will change to e aka edge that has 3-4 bars...
I've installed the rocketfish toggle to force 4g, anyone else noticed same thing in their service area?!?
Aloha from Hawaii!
This only happens to me if my 4G signal gets exceptionally low, like 1 to 0 bars. Then the phone will roll back to EDGE to still maintain a signal. Otherwise at 2+ bars this does not happen to me.
Edge will almost always have a better signal than 3g. Especially because of the freq that tmo uses. They use 1.9ghz for edge compared to 2.1ghz for 3g. Higher the freq the more power needed for same distance and less penetration
Does anyone else get low cell reception on 4g and 3g? My 4g cell is around -107dbm with 35asu with 2 bars. Would only having 2 bars drain my battery? My 3g is even worse, although my previous OPO had nearly full 3g signal.
Is this a samsung hardware problem? Saerching around on Google seems like a lot of folks had problems with cell reception on their S6 too
Thanks
My previous 8500mah zerolemonĀ“ed galaxy s5 had a reasonable wifi signal in house (yes even with the giant battery fitted)
However I notice the wifi signal of s7 edge is much worse..
does this happens to any of you comparing to the s5 ?
I'm considering switching to ATT which requires a phone switch too. Anyway, looking to pick up as used S8 and have no ATT signal inside my house. Maybe 1 bar in some areas. In the past I would have terrible battery drain to the point of an hour of SOT with a Sony Z5C. Most battery went to cell signal. ATT stopped giving out femtocells saying Wifi calling is good enough. But... with a weak to nonexistent LTE signal, even if on great Wifi, am I going to be using up my battery searching for the LTE signal or is the S8 smart enough to no waste the battery on that? Anyone's impressions of having great wifi and no LTE on an S8 series, while using Wifi calling?
Anyone else with a unlocked S10+ on T-Mobile notice signal is trash? My old mate 10 pro has 2x the signal and speeds. Same sim same spot on table.
Huawei got 73.7 and 21.5
S10+ got 47 and 22 half bars. I loose signal alot now
