Whenever my S8+ is dirty, I can see the rectangle where the imei sticker was in a different light than the rest of the back of the phone. Most noticeable if there is light in the room. Anyone else? I tried rubbing alcohol but no go
Yes on my note 9
Probably gonna always be there. Why sweat the small stuff enjoy your device. That spot isnt gonna make or break it
They will all have this stain that's only slightly visible in certain light ,if you pull the imei square sticker off.i never noticed it untill I saw this thread today it's only visible when the back is greasy and dirty.

I am doomed , i woke up today to discover that my white mt3g turned yellow on the back side on the edges , still safe on the ront, any ideas
I have white mt3g. How did your turn yellow at the back?? mine is yellow at the back too but its actually the invisable shield that turned yellow not the phone.
Get a diffrent skin if its just the back side plastic piece
It possible means battery problems, white plastic tends to turn yellowish when heated.
Have you been messing around with the CPU settings..?
Lol, my phone temp is 38 C and its never overheated. I will try rubbing it with alcohol. it only the back part
This is why you should never buy anything made of white plastic. White plastic turns yellow with age. Some plastics turn yellow faster than others, but they all eventually turn. Light and heat may be contributing factors, also air quality -- things like smoke.
do you smoke cigs?
I am about to send in my phone for a replacement and just wondering but are there any more water indicator stickers other than the one under the battery? That one is still white, but are there internal water damage stickers. I am just asking because my phone has been is some misty conditions so water may have gotten in through the speaker.
there is one on the phone itself in the battery, so if its white and the battery is white then u should be ok. being in a misty place shouldnt really be a problem, i think they are more or less concerned it the phone has been submerged in any kind of liquid.
Okay, good to know, though I have rubbed the screen with some water to clean off some persistent fingerprint though. Both stickers are still white however
FYI Bleach on a q-tip will make them white if they changed color 'cause of water
Hey guys.
So yestreday I was using my phone with a light in the room. And I decided (since i now have the s7edge for about 3 weeks) to check unde4 light if there already are any microscratches
... and there are some although I take care of my phone like its a newborn baby. But its also only visible under light. So, the microscratches didnt really bother me... i noticed something else. Its like a stain or a smudge on the edge of the screen, on both edges actually... left and right... and they are not even the same, they are not symmetrical. At first i thought its just dirty but after rubbing it, it didn't go away.
So what I did was, I washed it under water (mind you, this was THE FIRST time I got my s7e under water).
I cleaned it good, wiped it good. But it is still there.
Then I went to google about this and found nothing... all i found, worth checking was some guy who said he had a gap between the FRAME and the SCREEN, and that he had sent it back to get that fixed (and it took samsung like 3 times to send him a good phone). So i checked that video and some people in the comments were reporting that the gap between screen and frame is so big that they can put a piece of paper under there. I of course tried it myself out of curiosity and ny phone also has the GAP between screen and frame. And after i washed it yestrday.... i noticed some water in between the edge and screen... inside that gap.
Now guys tell me those anyone else have that smudge or stain? Does anyone know what it is? (Remember it was there before I even got the phone wet for the first time)
And tell me does anyone else have the gap between screen and frame? And did anyone else notice a little water between screen and frame in that gap? Does it mean its not water and dust proof? I must say that I got it wet pretty good under tap water, but it is still working perfectly... i am just afraid now that there is a ways the water will get into that gap someday and ruin the phone. I really hope this is normal and its just how the phone is built and it is till waterproof and dust proof... but i water can get into that gap i do not know how it can be dust/water proof....
Thank you for all the help guys!
Oh and here are the pictures of the screen smudge/stain. I only took pictures of the left side of the phone screen. 4 pictures. 2 are original, other 2 have a marking so you can easily spot what we are looking at.
And you can maybe try to the gap between frame and screen, but i am not sure it will be possible,as i took that picture to show you the smudge, stain and not the gap.
Also I must say that this smudges are on both sides of the screen visible ONLY when the screen is turned of, or if you have a black wallpaper and if you dont pay attention to it you can hardly even notice it, even with black screen or turned of screen. Its the easiest to see under strong light.
is that the same place for the gap between the edge of the screen or thats for the cover section at the back of the phone.....
also ste you using a screen protector or that stain is directly on or inside your actual screen did u use a screen protector before or not at all
Hi there,
The gap between the screen and the frame is normal. Every phone has it, and I have it also, was multiple times in a swimming pool with the phone and it still works. About the smudge, I do not know, it seems like the oleophobic coating of your screen is weared off. Maybe send it back if it bothers you much?

Hi, I had the same problem, a while ago, with a Sony device. I thought it is water in the first, but I send it to Sony to be save, and they replaced the screen. It was a part of the screen, it peels off, and sticked on the screen-glass.
Nah its not really bothering me... but i dont know what it is and i got scared a little. Like i said it not really visible unles you tilt the phone and turn it under a light or sun.
I dont know how could the oleophobic coat wear off because the phone is 3 weeks old. Bought it three weeks ago, tottally new.
I dont use screen protector but i do have a spigen case.
So I guess its what Pufnasti said. The screen peeled off and stuck to the outer glass...
Pfunasti, should I send it back so they repair it?

I used my brand new Sony deVice only 2 days, and I get this problem. I would say, you should send it to Samsung. It's definitely a hardware problem, and it wasn't caused by you.
Hello,
I have put a Matte screen guard over my s8. I noticed that the screen is pixelated after putting, just like the glue residue all over the screen. Also, I see a straight line going from left to right in the top. The salesman said me that those marks will be removed in 2 days with charging and heating of phone.
Could somebody confirm me if charging (heating) my phone will really make those glue like marks go away of my screen ?
Thanks.
Use little spirit on the cloth to make it damp. Rub gently on your screen where there is glue marks. Take care and it should work.
Hello,
Do you mean that I should take out the screen guard and then rub the spirit ? Is there any other way to do this without removing the guard ?
Thanks
I think I found a hardware defect on my phone.
It doesn't affect the functions of the phone whatsoever, but it's a defect nonetheless.
There is a tiny tiny hole underneath the gorilla glass on the black bezel between the screen protector and the case. See attached picture, where the red circle is. This hole is super tiny, I can't see it under well lit room or outside or even in the attached pic. I'm sharing this for the location of the hole so maybe others can check on their phone if there is such hole. If I check in a complete dark room, I can see it. And it's visible only from certain angle, as the pic was taken. Screen has to be on, in order to see the light being emitted from this tiny hole, I'm talking about less than a normal needle point. It has no effect on how the phone work, but I found this last night. At first I thought it's a speck of dust, but it wouldn't go away whatever I did. Then I realized it's a light coming through under the gorilla glass. I'm not going to return the phone for this, but still it's a defect.
Check your phone and let me know if anybody has same problem ?
Mine does not have this problem.
