Has anyone else noticed that some settings randomly reverting back to the default setting? For example I changed my settings to allow sideloading apps and then every time I want to install a new one, I find the setting off again. Same thing with Bluetooth volume sync, I turned it off and just noticed it was off again. Anyone else experience this? Any fixes?
yes; accessibility settings also revert and unknown sources toggles back off after every install regardless of the "only for this installations" toggle
have not figured a way to fix this yet

Hi,
I've been using CM (lastest) on my N1. Now that Froyo is out I reverted to stock, applied Froyo, and CM's quickroot patch.
I set vibration to always in Settings -> Sounds.
The same in the Messaging application, it's set to vibrate always.
Unfortunately when I receive an SMS I don't get vibration at all, which is not nice.
Is this a bug, or do you guys know what might solve it?
Thanks!

I have the same problem. It doesn't seem to vibrate for e-mails either which is rather frustrating
edit: nvm, i didn't check the settings lol ><
get sound manager from the market. install it, open it, hit menu>vibrate settings. set whatever you want. that is what fixed it for me when i was having similar problems on eclair
I originally posted this in the HyperDroid CM7 thread but I think it might be better here.
I have little problem with my install and I'm not even sure if it's related to that rom or CM7 or me... When I put my phone on vibrate, it will only vibrate when I get a call, it won't vibrate for SMS and notifications in general.
I have set Messaging > Settings > Notification Settings > Vibrate > Always
I also set Settings > Sounds > Vibrate > Always
Still no dice. Any ideas?
the Profiles maybe?... last time I tried, I ended up getting a notification sound from SetCPU notification on Screen On/Off and it was extremely annoying lol
I'll try again and report but feel free to chime in if you have a suggestion

Note that I have played with the default profile since that post and set every app group to Vibrate 'On' but it still doesn't work.
I keep looking online but the 2 answers that seem to fix the problem don't work for me (the Messaging app settings and the Profile settings)
I also remember reading that the vibrate pattern had to be set to a particular pattern to work but I can't find that info again.
Any ideas?

Edit:
Workaround: I grabbed Sound Manager v2 from the market > Vibrate settings and it works
I have the same issue... Have you resolved it??
Cheers
It works now that I used Sound Manager from the market.
Super odd problem here. So I had originally turned off animations (running latest nightly of Lineage 14) and I turned them back on just to see what they were like and the soft rebooted. Upon rebooting a bunch of stuff, settings, functionality disappeared. My recents button does not pull up recents at all, no notifications. When I went into the settings and searched "button", nothing appeared. Finally, I went to development settings and could not access any of these settings I had before. It appears I entered some odd user state or something, but I don't know how changing animations could trigger that.
Any thoughts?
Okay so I realized it's a problem with the current user being a non administrator. I don't know how this switched over but I've read it can be fixed by running SetUp Wizard, however I can't find an activity to do this.
I have found the similar problem on my HTC desire (7), hope you solve this problem soon.
I'm not sure when this issue actually started but when I tried to edit my Smart Lock settings today, I found I couldn't get into the Screen Lock settings at all.
I have a LG V20 US996 unlocked & rooted running software version 10n. When I try to access Settings -> Display -> Lock screen, I get "Unfortunately, Lock Screen Settings has stopped.". Here's what I've tried thus far based on articles I've found around the webiverse:
Cleared all of the cache & rebooted.
Cleared all the user certificates under Certificate management.
Cleared the data for the following packages via Titanium Backup followed by a reboot:
com.lge.lockscreensettings.overlay 1.0
com.lge.provider.lockscreensettings 7.0
Lock Screen Settings 5.50.160811
Rebooted into safe mode using the default launcher and still couldn't get into the Lock screen settings.
I currently have a passcode set. Clearing the above package data did not remove the passcode. I also use Nova Launcher but somehow I don't think that's the issue since I wasn't using it in Safe Mode.
This issue is making me a tad nervous as I'm afraid I'll boot or try to unlock the phone and it won't let me. I'm all ears for any suggestions I could try short of resetting the phone to defaults.
Thanks!
I'm having the same issue. Nova launcher also. Tried all "fixes" mentioned as well.
Figured out my issue, not sure if it applies to you as well.
I ran a logcat and found that the lockscreen settings showed an error looking for weather settings. I previously froze the LG weather apps. After unfreezing the 3 weather apps, lockscreen settings work once again!
Good luck!
Holy crap, it worked! I had frozen it with Titanium as well. Unfreezing it made all the lock screen settings work again. How obscure and annoying is that?
Thanks!
Pistacios solution fixed the problem. Unfreezing the LG Weather apps (with Titanium, in my case) fixed the problem.
Awesome! Glad I helped. I came across your post when I had the problem and decided to dig deeper and that's when I found the answer.
Lockscreen wallpaper can still be changed with the apps frozen, just do it thru the gallery with the "set as" option, but just about everything else needs those apps active. I just unfreeze, change settings, then refreeze them.
I wanted to share this with everyone in hopes that my solutions helps at least one person.
I have an LG G6 running Android 8.0. A few apps I use require Draw over other apps to be turned on. One of those apps is Keeper Security, which needs permission to Draw over other apps so that its Keeper Fill feature can read the screen and go find my username/password for that website/app I am trying to login to. Since around December 2018 it has started acting 'flaky'. Even though I had enabled Draw over other apps for the app already, it kept notifying me that I needed to turn it on. After some random setting changes of turning the draw over apps setting ON/OFF, along with the Keeper Fill setting from within the source app that needs this permission, I could eventually get it to work again, but it would always break again very soon after.
As I am getting ready to go on a trip, I installed Google's Datally app. It, too, wants me to turn on Draw over other apps, but when I tap "next" to be taken to the Android settings page to enable Draw over other apps, nothing happens (I usually expect an app detects it has been enabled and gives "success" message).
So I started disabling the 3 possible suspects listed by kapil1100 in this post. I had LG's Comfort View and some Accessibility options enabled, so I turned them off and: no change.
I disabled all other apps that have permission to Draw over other apps via: Settings > Apps & notifications > Special access > Draw over other apps, and: no change.
I use Evie launcher, so I went back to the stock one: no change.
I got thinking about what else could be modifying/accessing the screen and realized that LG has custom Home touch buttons.
I went to: Settings > Display > Home touch buttons > Hide Home touch buttons and DISABLED Show lock/hide icon and then tried enabling Draw over other apps for Datally and IT WORKED!.
I was then able to turn Show lock/hide icon back ON and everything has been working as expected. I suspect that, because I had Show lock/hide icon turned on during an upgrade, something got messed up and my turning it OFF and back ON fixed the issue.
I hope this helps someone!
