I recently got my note 4 screen replaced. While i was using the phone while still cracked the Wi-Fi worked fine. After getting my phone from the repair shop, the s pen was glued inside the phone , the screen was slightly popping out and the Wi-Fi was messed up. I couldn't get any signal unless im very close to my Wi-Fi router. I take the phone back to the repair shop and explained everything. Once I got the phone back, everything was fixed but the Wi-Fi problem was still there. I tried factory resetting the phone but that didn't work. I would like a solution to this. Thanks.
Try to push the back of the phone where the connectors of antena or change back cover.

Hello Guys,
I just got my HD2 from repare, had to change the screen since it became unresponsive.
After I got it back, installed both WP7 and Anrdoid on it, I found out that the phone is not detecting any wifi networks. I tried in both WP7 and Android, and both of them do not detect any wifi networks. So it looks like when they changed the screen, they messed up WIFI connectivity. I'm guessing they might have forgotten to connect one of the connectors.
I am planning to take it back to them, but I was wondering if any of you knows which connector is for the WIFI, and if its easily visible once I take the back cover off, since I already done that before.
Thanks in advance
Hi dude,
if a connection is a problem and you even going to find it don't do it yourself.
it's a pretty small and gentle stuff, so you must know what you doing and how to connect them. Obviously you will need some serious tools.
my guess if you had all that - you already been doing this and not asking here.
so advice - not touching anything, not making it worse.
Best case: the connector came loose (which is not all that uncommon). It's the connector on the black wire on the top right side of the main board.
Worst case, they broke off a contact (which is also quite common).
Either way, don't try to repair it yourself but bring it back to the repair shop. If they accidentally broke off a contact then that requires a professional repair.
Thanks guys.
After some tests, I found out that the phone does detect wifi networks, but have extremely bad reception. I have to be very close to the wifi router for it to detect the network.
Any idea what might be causing this?

Like I said, either a loose connector or a contact has broken off. That will give you about 1 bar of reception while sitting next to your router...
I put in new LCD and digitizer. Once replaced, before assembling phone back i attached battery and ran test. Phone turns on and works fine (i even tried to put sim card in and made calls, also checked wi-fi etc ). BUT when i assemble phone back putting back panel in place(not battery cover) i cannot turn it on.I tried it 3 times. Back panel off-works,assembled together-doesn't. I obviously squeeze some contact somewhere or who-knows what...
Please help me to find what i did wrong or how to solve the issue.
I am really appreciate your support on this...
I have a similar problem after replacing my motherboard on my other hd2
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA
Dog decided to use my S4 (AT&T i337) as a chew toy and both broke the glass and damaged the LCD digitizer (still works, but lost blue on about 1/3 of the screen and green lines appear down the middle of the phone which affect tracking).. I ended up ordering a new LCD/Glass kit and replaced the damaged one.
Everything went smoothly and except for Cell Signal, which is now showing a circle with a line through it and will not connect to AT&T at all. First I took it back apart and rechecked that everything is hooked up correctly. When that didn't work, I ended up putting the original LCD back in.
Turns out, I am still not getting any signal, even with the old board back in.
Couple things I've noticed (don't remember what these SHOULD be, so I don't know if they are currently off)...
(ROM - MDOB 07/15/13 with MF3)
Status -
Network - Unknown
Mobile network type - Unknown
Service state - Out of service
Roaming - Not roaming
Mobile network state - Disconnected
(everything else looks right)
Any suggestions on what to do/try?
Went ahead an used Odin to go back to stock...No good, still presented with a crossed out circle in the bar instead of the AT&T icon.
Additional note...sim card is being read and my IMEI is listed in Status.
Going to start sifting through syslog to see if I can find anything hanky next.
My goal now is to avoid taking it in for repair, as I am afraid I'll end up with a upgraded, un-rootable phone when it is returned...So anything worth trying, I'm game.
What baseband are you using, MF3 also?
And you double checked the coax antenna connectors were properly seated?
I337UCUAMDL baseband now, but I have Odined back to factory stock and then Odined to stock 2nd release when that didnt help.
By coax, I assume you mean the round blue cable inside? I was under the impression that is WIFI and not Cellular. Truth is, I thought I might have crimped that cable when I originally was putting the phone back together, but when WiFi worek without issue I discounted it. If it is Cell, that would help explainwhy the phone is acting like it is...know anywhere I can quickly get a replacement?

Galaxy S4 I purchased brand new, probably about 6 months ago. I managed to shut it in the door of my truck, and broke the lcd about a month ago. Got the lcd and glass replaced at a repair shop, and it worked fine up until two days ago. Phone was mysteriously off. Upon turning it on the screen filled up with green fuzz. Turned it off, and it wouldn't turn on until several tries later, when it worked perfectly fine for 5 minutes. Tried again, graphical gltiches like bars of fuzz etc and the phone wouldn't fully boot.
I brought it back to repair store, they tried a new screen in my phone, which worked for about 5 minutes until it shut off and wont turn again. The screens work fine in other S4's. They've looked at the port etc and say there is no damage. The phone has no water damage.
I've had a liquid smooth rom running on the phone fine for 6 months. They claim it's bricked because of my rom suddenly crapping out or something. But this seems like a hardware issue to me.
Anyone have a similar problem ever? Any way to diagnose? I can't get the phone to power on to factory reset it. :/
Thinking of buying a S4 with broken lcd to harvest the mobo out of.
Is this really a firmware problem?
I'm sure the rom didn't do it. Sounds like hardware to me

That's what I was thinking... So if the motherboards hooped there's no saving it?
Try getting a recovery jig to see if it will boot to recovery that way. If not, it either will most likely need a jtag or the hardware is shot.
Hi guys, hoping someone can give me some help with my phone problems.
I have a verizon s4 that was working perfect other than having a cracked lcd. I took apart my phone and unplugged all the flex cables and antenna and removed all the modular pieces on the phone then replaced the lcd/digitizer assembly (didn't use heat). When I finished my repair and put everything back together, the phone appeared to work fine at first, but I soon realised my wifi performance was really bad (1 bar 5 feet from router) and also my 4g was being weird (if it goes under 2 bars, it stops working and eventually after a few minutes shifts to 3g where it does work fine) I took the phone back apart to see if I missed anything, but the antenna are both plugged in properly and all the flex are plugged in.
Does anybody have any ideas?

I think I have figured out my problem, but I am not sure how to fix it. Hoping someone can help. I had an antenna contact bent over. When I went to bend it it broke the top portion off.
Any idea on how to fix or replace it? Also where to get a replacement part if needed.
