I've been really happy with my Axon 7, especially since I was able to enable VoLTE thanks to the threads on here. My only gripe is that I have not been able to get VZW VVM to work. I've read that others have flashed GApps and are able to get VVM to work in the stock Google dialer, however, I'm *very* apprehensive about doing anything involving custom recorvery.
I'd be perfectly content with using Motorola's voicemail app that I used on my Moto X Pure. I've installed the apk but as soon as I open the app I'm greeted with "this app is not supported on this device." Has anyone gotten the app to work with just some basic tweaking?
Thank you in advance.

So I had my Nexus 4 about 2+ months now (bought straight from Google) and just a few days ago I decided to root and install custom kernel and rom. Installed the Illusion ROM 2.0 and the Air Kernel. I also installed Slim Gapps (Slim_Gapps.4.2.2.build.6.x.zip) to get my Google apps because they are not included in the Illusion ROM. Everything is great except for the navigation voice. I used to have a woman's voice who said words clearly and sounded almost humanlike...or something close to it when speaking directions. Now I have this computer-generated woman voice which sounds crappy compared to what I had before.
How do I get the original voice back? I noticed in my text-to-speech settings that I have something called PicoTTS. Am I missing something like google related? Please help me find her
anyone?
Anyone? I did a proper search but couldn't find a concrete answer. Please help.
You should install the full google apps,or use Ivona text to speech from play store
Still want the original

Yeah I know Ivona exists. It's just that I was satisfied with the original voice provided with the Nexus 4. In fact, I really liked it I never thought that was an addon before flashing to a custom rom.
So you're saying that the Gapps provided by slim roms is not a full version?? If so, can you please provide a link where I can download the full google apps? I know the store doesn't have it cause I tried to search for it. Otherwise if any Nexus 4 owner is using the stock rom and included voice, can they somehow extract it and post a download link? It would be greatly appreciated.
If the above options aren't possible, then say I were to flash the stock rom again, would I get back the lost original voice? And then can someone give me instructions on how to extract the voice so I can install in a custom rom? This would be helpful too.
EDIT: Found downloadables. My search was flawed as I searched for "google text-to-speech, android text-to-speech, google tts, google tts nexus 4", etc. when I should've simply searched for "gapps" as "gapps tts" doesn't work either.
Google Voice doesn't appear to work with Verizon, unless there is a workaround I'm not seeing.
Now that that's out of the way, I'm using the latest build of Cyanide ROM with my Nexus 6P on Verizon, and am looking for a visual voicemail app that will work well. I don't know how much to trust the vm apps on the Play Store, and I've tried several options (including the Google help link I'm directed to in Google Voice) and can't quite seem to get it to work. Any suggestions?

I can't believe it was that simple. Couldn't find that (didn't search more than 15 minutes, but still). Thanks, man. :good:
I am on Sprint (LG-LS997). I noticed that it is missing at least the stock email app (not Gmail app).
Does anybody know why? How can I get it?
Anyone? I'm missing it too please.
Sprint for whatever reason is trying to shift to an all Google platform for this device. I am using Bluemail app which is working nicely.

Has any dev successfully ported over an Android (non-gmail) email app from another carrier version of V20?
looking for that as well
Some LG stock apps can be downloaded (as an .apk file) and recompiled with an app called APK Editor on the Play Store, but it's kind of hit and miss as to what works. I honestly think we should make a sticky in one of the forums with links to the downloads to each of these because of how often people (myself included) ask for them.
I can tell you that on a non-rooted LS997, you can get Calculator, Music and Music Widget, Gallery and Email to work. Unless you want to use an Exchange account with it, then you're SOL. The Exchange counterpart is a separate apk that for some reason doesn't work.
Everything else you need root, and even then it's sketchy on the LS997. It would be nice if the dev on the WETA rom would get an LS997 version running because that rom has ALL of the LG apps AND they work. You can install the US996 version, but I could not get the cellular data to work on mine.

Yes, there does appear to be something missing, but that's beyond my expertise. If you do find something, please share! I'd like to see ALL of the stock apps made available to Sprint (and AT&T) users since we got the shaft.
I'm setting up my new shiny LG G6 unlocked (US997) with AT&T and I've just found that apparently AT&T Visual Voicemail app is listed as incompatible for this model (I cannot find this app when searching Play Store on the phone itself. When searching on the desktop I do find it but it lists G6 as incompatible and refuses to install).
Has anyone experienced the same and what remedy/alternative do people suggest?
P.S. For extra hilarity, here's with awesome, amazing, technically brilliant AT&T tech support chat: https://goo.gl/2kxCrV
Had same issues, fixed it myself.

What I did was install a apk version of the ATT Voicemail app. I googled apk ATT Vociemail and installed it directly onto the phone not through the playstore. You do have to allow unknown sources enabled to get it to install. If you need more detail just let me know. Download the apk on the phone then go ahead and find it in the download of file manager, and open it and will install, if you have unknown sources allowed. I have the exact same phone, and this fixed worked for me.
Thanks,

I did exactly as Luke1985 said. Works perfectly.
The AT&T Visual Voicemail app that comes pre-installed on the Galaxy Note 9 doesn't appear to be Visual, actually - no transcription, no option in settings to turn it on. The version in the Playstore says Not Compatible with your phone.
I searched XDA-developers entire Galaxy Note 9 forum and don't find this referenced.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Searching online, AT&T forums don't have good answers. Some users have said they found the .apk online and installed it and it works properly.
Does anyone have a good .apk for this?
Places I have "found it" have a lot of click bait.
EDIT: I found 2 different versions, 4.2 and 4.3 - each of them works. I used Package Disabler Pro to disable com.samsung.attvvm, the Visual Voicemail app that came pre-installed, listed as Version 2.0.00.8. Now I am running version 4.3.0.0007.
If anyone else has this problem, and would like the .apk, I can upload it.

I'm not on AT&T ,but, try APK Mirror,it's run by the site Android Police, they're trustworthy:
https://www.androidpolice.com/2014/11/19/meet-apk-mirror/
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/att-services-inc/att-visual-voicemail/
If you like, there's an unofficial APK Mirror app available from XDA Labs:

Thank you So Much!
The play store said that the app was not compatible with the note 9, and the only way I could even see it was to search the play store on a computer. The site was perfect and it works like a charm!
