I''m on the g930aucu1apb4 firmware (stock, February 1 2016 security patch) and it's not getting OTA updates and I haven't been able to use Odin to flash the update. It just hangs on SetupConnection and I've restarted the process several times, tried using different cables, USB ports, etc. Is there a way I could sideload the update from the build I'm on?

Give Odin extra time to begin the flash, i.e. 2 -3 mins. I have noticed that it takes longer these days and even though it seems like it is hung-up, it should eventually begin flashing.

I've tried installing the latest update three times, but it keeps failing (it failed at 25% installation the first try and 30% the second try, and 25% on the third). The phone boots up normally and has the message "Failed to update software. Update failed. Your device will recover the original configuration". Has anyone else encountered this, or know how to fix this?

I am manually downloading the firmware right now and will report back. I will also be mirroring the 5.0 firmware for everyone so we have more channels to download it from

I am having the same issue.. Have tried once so far and it failed. On the Galaxy Note III. I will try to see if I can install it manually as well and update this post.
Thank you
Used the Samsung Kies app and updated via my laptop and usb cable. Took a long time but it was successful. Now I am hoping to get writable access to my SD card.. fingers crossed.
my s6e+ (g928f) will not connect to my PC. I do not believe it to be a driver issue because i have tried uninstalling reinstalling etc and tried barebone drivers.
Also the other day my phone stuck at 0% and would not charge, either wired or wirelessly. After 2 days it started to charge again.....
I thought my usb port was bust but this seems like a software issue, right? I obviously cannot connect to odin because it doesn't detect my device.
Is there such a thing as flashable stock roms i can flash in CWM, instead of using odin?
Its worth mentioning i did a couple weeks ago update to MM and then downgrade back to LP so i believe my modem and bootloader were updated during the process, would they have been downgraded back to the LP versions after restoring my nandroid backup?
I know this is a tricky one but i'm in a mess, help
Hi. I have a note 4(SM-N9101A) that became slow and would reboot on its own. I continued to use it like that untill I had a OTA update. When I updated my phone, it crashed and now takes me to the "connect to kies, firmware update had an error". I took it to the samsung guys at my local best buy and when they tried flashing the firmware it kept on failing. I tried doing it through odin and it fails. I want to send it back, but i do not have a proff of purchase, as they need one (Ive tried everything, not a possibility for this route). What should I try now? Thank you
I have a Galaxy S8 SM-G950U on Verizon.
In March I flashed my phone with the following ROM so I could get the S9 messanger,
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/development/rom-pixelish-s9-rom-custom-snapdragon-s8-t3766891
Everything worked for a few months, including system updates. But as of roughly two months ago I am unable to install any system updates, they always fail. The rest of the phone works fine, its just the updates.
I have tried to use Smart Switch to install the update through my PC, but the process would freeze after downloading the update. The same happened when I tried emergency software recovery through Smart Switch.
I also tried using Verizon's software update utility to both update and recover the phone, but the program would freeze just like Smart Switch.
I have also tried flashing both stock firmware and re-flashing the ROM to the phone with no success. I have tried flashing with the following 4 versions of Odin:
- Odin3-v3.12-PrinceComsy-
- Modded Odin v3.13.1 Raymonf
- Odin3 v3.13.1_3B_PatcheD
- Odin3_v3.12.3
No matter what version I tried, Odin would either outright fail or freeze at either "SetupConnection" or "Intializing". I tried plugging my phone into both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports. I was very careful to get the correct stock firmware for my phone. I downloaded the stock firmware from both sammobile.com and samsung-firmware.org
I also tried simply restting the phone to factory setting both from inside Android and from Recovery Mode.
Does anybody have any clue what might be causing this and what I can do to fix it?
I really dont want to be stuck with a phone that can't get updates.
I have a Samsung Galaxy SM-G950W device and I have been trying to update it since 2018 but no luck. It’s still running Android 8. And the patch update from 2018.
It won’t let me update within the settings, and have tried to flash the firmware multiple times, but I always get the Device Info error (with multiple different files)
Does anyone know maybe what I am doing wrong or what I can do to update the device to a newer version (9.0)
Try to download firmware from https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-G950W and flash with odin

I have tried but it fails each time
you must download one that is superior to binary 5 you have 4. it may be that
What I had to do Was Turn On USB Debugging because it turned of, then put the PIT file in which I got from the CSC extract, run it with the new BT and the PIT file and then do the whole package and it worked
