Google Nexus 10 - no reboot, no recovery - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
i have this problem with Nexus 10.
I have found out that when i press "turn off" the screen goes black but the tablet doesn't really turn off. If i want to turn it on again i have to phisically open the tablet unplug the battery and plug it in.
Battery charges with no problem. Tried any advice on the internet and kept all buttons pressed at least 5 mins but no success.
I supposed it was a software problem so i tried to launch recovery mode or to hard reset the tablet but with no success: the display goes black and i have to do the trick.
Since i have nothing to lose what would you advice me to do to solve the problem?
Thanks,

Factory Mode LOOP

Hi! Every time i turn off my p6800, when turn on don't see "samsung glalaxy tab 7.7" and the boot animation but start the "factory mode". I i turn off it turn automatically on after 4-5 seconds and visualize the "factory mode".
I try to flash with odin, but for the first boot it's ok, if i turn off the device and turn on the problem is the same.
anyone have this problem or know its fix?
I had this happen. I found that fully draining the battery fixed it, I haven't found what makes it happen in the first place though.
To completely drain the battery you'll have to turn it back on after it turns off from low power. I'd recommend doing the first big drain by flashing something in odin to get it booted (I just flashed recovery instead of the whole rom), then running it down till it turns off. Then power it back on, just the factory mode screen is okay now and wait till turns off again. This is to avoid having it on the factory mode screen for hours on end, which would probably cause burn-in.
Once it gives no response to pressing the power button, plug it in to charge, hopefully when it's charged a bit you can turn it on and it will be working again.
This problem made me really wish for a removable battery.
My son had this issue for some time ago. And draining battery didn't help indeed. But after about a week of this looping, it randomly became possible to boot through the loop holding the power button. And after a month or so, I can say that the device is almost self-cured the disease, and the "factory mode" is quite rare seen now=)

Wont Charge.

My nexus 7 tablet is dead , so I plug it into the chragers and no little battery image shows up, but after about 5 minutes ( I didnt touch the power button ) itll say Google, then it powers up, goes to the home screen, says 0 % Shutting down, then turns of and repeats the process? what can I do? And now the screen is flickering.

EDIT: I got it working after using the phone to charge for a few minutes
not sure if this fixes or helps anyone else but i got bootloader working
Same thing is happening to me. Two days now. I have followed all the instructions i found online saying
Drain off all the juice from your Nexus 7.
Connect your dead Nexus 7 to the charger and press the Volume Down and Power Button simultaneously. By doing this, you’ll head over to the Bootloader menu of the Nexus 7.
Scroll down to the “Power Off Device” option with the help of Volume Down Button.
Select it by tapping the Power button and disconnect the device.
Quickly connect the device to the USB charger again.
You’ll now see the Battery picture on your screen making your device working again.

However when i get to the bootloader i cannot scroll through the options or select anything. It just says "Start" and none of the hardware buttons respond.
When i do let it boot as above poster said it saw connect to charger and shutting down
weirdest thing is that it says "Connect to charger" and if i jiggle the usb it changes to "Charging 0%" but shuts off
I've tried multiple cords and chargers so the issue seems to be with the nexus
i'm at a loss and i've had the device since launch so returning it isnt an option..
any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated

Stuck on "Erasing..." after factory reset attempt

Hi, my parents N7 wasn't used for a long time and it was completely dead. It couldn't even stay on when plugged in.
I went into the shutdown mode to charge it for an hour or so and managed to get it on.
The battery was at 2%. I decided to do a factory reset while the device was plugged in but now it's become stuck on the Erasing screen. Its been there for a few hours now. I've tried restarting but it just goes back to the Erasing screen. I've also tried booting into recovery but it just goes straight to the "Erasing..." screen again.
When I press power and vol up on the Erasing screen it tells me "Formatting /data...." in small yellow writing but like I say its been like it for hours.
Any advice? device is completely stock, not rooted or anything.
Thanks
Make sure you are using the OEM 2.0A charger from Asus and leave it connected to charge overnight for at least 8 to 12 hours. Unplug it and wait a few minutes before attempting to get into Recovery Mode or Bootloader (hold Volume Down & Power to restart) - if that work, reconnect the power supply as you want it to get power while cycling.
Keep a close watch on any error or messages popping up on the screen as you do this - post them here.
What is your goal in doing a Factory Reset ?
If the battery is completely dead & remained in that state for a long time, it might not come back to life & a replacement battery is probably the answer for the long run - is it out of warranty ?

Hi the correct has been used. I left it charging over night and is now at 100%. I can tell this from the battery indicator in the middle of the screen when I power off.
When I try and boot into recovery (vol - & power) the device just goes back to the "Erasing..." screen where it stays indefinitely (to my knowledge). The screen is still animated (the robot with the blue rotating graphic inside him).
If the warranty is 1 year then I believe it has expired.
Thanks

It's strange indeed. Make sure you keep holding volume down until you (in theory should) get to the bootloader menu.
I have the same problem. Whenever I turn the device on, it goes straight to Erasing... screen, no way out. If I try to do Power+Volume Down thing, it turns off the device, then it'll start again and back to Erasing... screen. Help! :crying:

Display problem

Hi,
So I changed the broken display to a40 with non-original (it was amoled I put ips). The phone works for one day and an update appeared, after downloading and restarting the phone it turned black and turned off. After many attempts to disconnect from the battery, disconnect the display, nothing worked, until I disconnected the display and turned on the phone (power + volume down). the cell phone restarted (no display). I turned off the cell phone by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting the display, after which the cell phone works again..
I make test: press button power +volume up for h. reset. Phone was brick again. I repeat procedure again with disconnect display, phone working again. It is very frustrated. I can't assembly complete phone because it brick again with new update or hard
reset.

What is problem with display or android? I did factory reset, not help. Thanks for any kind suggestions.
