Charging Issues.. Help! - Xiaomi Redmi 3s Questions & Answers

(Stock MIUI 8.2.4.0 TWRP/Root/UBL)
This morning connected my phone to the wall charger, the original. Then saw the phone look like if "connect and disconnect" the usb cable.... some time take a couple a second (10 sec) some time do it immediately... but continue over and over again, do not stop.
I did this thing:
*used a diferent charger/usb cable (another original one and LG one)
*Clear Cache/dalvik from TRWP
*Charging from Recovery
*Charging from PC (same things continue Connect/disconnect)
*Charging with the phone turned off
*I Flashed (over again) MIUI 8.2.4.0 From TWRP
*I cannot do a Fastboot flash because the phone continues connect/disconnect from PC
Nothing worked, the phone got charge but lasting all morning and atfernoon.... please help.
I did not dropped the phone, any strike or visible damage.
The Charger ping look good, any visible damage....
Please HELP! I love my Xiaomi... :crying:
(I can upload a video if is necessary)

some times mine, didnot want to charge at all, with the original cube charger, i restarted it and that cures the problem, what you describe is a failure in the charging port, i think, sorry

It's very weird. I take care of my phone, and I've never dropped... Also, I noted the battery its drained a little bit faster tthan ever... maybe charging the phone with that issues (intermittent charge) could affect the battery.... :crying:
Thank....

Well, I Used a Toothbrush and cleaned the charging port and now my lovely Redmi 3S get charge normally... Look like the port was dirt or something make statics... anyway, thank.

XDA 2 Say Always Charging

http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=8348&highlight=always+charging
I have a same problem before. But im update my device rom to 1.72.00 (Imate Rom) (Before my device have a 1.72.00 T-Mobile Rom) that problem is gone until my charge going %15. After that not blinkin Orange light is coming (thats normal for charge is about 10-15% but) also Setting > Power say charging and My XDA think its charging. Im not plug in my device anywhere (Cradle, Power Charge, USB Sync) but its always thing charging and charge is faster dropping to zero.
I dont understand anythig about that. After that i plug in my USB sync in my notebook and recharge it. After my battery full (100%) im unplug the sync cable from my device and nothing change. Its still say charging
After this i decided (i dont know why i think about that. please dont ask ) i plug in USB sync cable and plug out on my PC (Cable still plugged in on my XDA 2) and device gone normal. And unplug sync cable from my device. Orange light is gone and Settings > Power say Battery Mode.
Is there anythig wrong that. I think this is totaly software error bu i dont know.
Thank you for your advice.
My case was different. No matter what I did, the device ALWAYS thought it was in charging mode. I sent it to the repair centre twice and the device gone back to the problem again after a while. They said the connector pin has been in short circuit and so it thought it was charging. They also accused me of damaging it. I asked them why it would be so when I use it normally, the staff said 'Machine is like that, nobody can gurantee'. I was angry and sent several rude mails to O2. Upon some negotiation, they changed a completely brand new model to me and the problem did not happen anymore. I have used this new one for several months in exactly the same way I did with the old one and nothing untoward happen. That proved the old one was not damaged by me!
Sorry for being long-winded and yet could not solve your problem.
Anyone can help?
My device still have a that problem.
Im looking lights now and its some time say charging and some times not.
Please help
Thank you
always charging
i still have same problem :!:
anyone? help?
omg, this is exactly what my problem is. My XDAII always thinks that it is charging even though it is not plugged to the charger nor the usb sync cradle. And the amber LED light is steadily lighted like when you are charging, battery life of the XDA has dramatically gone down, it wont last me 3 hours or so and yet it is still on standby mode. I had reflashed it with the latest ROm available, 2.06WWE i think, and still after that, after the cold reboot, the problem was still there. Anyone has a better solution to that? Im planning on returning my unit for servicing if the problem cant be solved.
i have same problem , help me now
This will be less likely to happen when using usb cable rather than cradle. If you get a magifying glass you may be able to see the short on the pins and possibly nudge it back into position with a very thin sewing needle or similar.
up
i have exactly this problem too (
I´ve the same problem since yesterday with my T-Mobile MDA², it´s Rom Version: 1.72.01GER (6 months in use without problems), Rom Date 03/16/04, Radio 1.17.00, Protocol 1337.28, ExtRom 1.72.170
The yellow light is always on and the batterie runs very fast out of energy (1-2 hours) and it´s always says charging and think it´s connected to AC power...
any fix to this problem?
or what happen now to those who have this problem?
I have this problems too!!! How to fix it?

Oh noes. I think i have a paperweight :(

Hi guys.
Well, a month or two back i updated my imate kjam to WM6 and absolutely love it. Haven't had a single problem up until now.
Last week i did a soft reset on the phone (after installing phonealarm) and it stuck on the wm6 logo boot screen. tried a number of resets, removing the battery etc. finally had to do a hard reset and reinstall everything.
last night a similar thing happened. the phone had turned itself off in my pocket. so i tried a soft reset and got no luck. tried to do a hard reset, got to the screen where you confirm the reset but decided i'd try a few more things before committing to losing everything again.
now i can't do a thing with it. can't even get to the hard reset menu.
i've tried leaving the battery out overnight, tried resetting whilst it's plugged into the charger, everything i can think of. isn't recognised when plugged into the usb port either.
i'm at a total loss. any help / tips would be greatly appreciated, i'd hate to lose everything on my pda, as i used this thing constantly
one weird thing is that when plugged into the charger, i don't see a LED light up to say it's charging??

Is it possible that your battery may be flat?
Can you get into bootloader mode?
can't get into bootloader.
if my battery was flat, would the charging LED light up when it was plugged in?
thanks for the reply.
afer doing some more reading, it looks like it might just well be a dead battery.
apparently, wizard / kjam batteries are notorious for requiring the wall charger to get them going again once they're flat. something about needing 1000ma.
i just checked my charger that came with the unit (ebay), and noticed it only put out 850ma. going to grab my brother's jasjam charger and hope to hell it's 5v 1000ma.
fingers crossed.
i had a similar problem, and following a solution on ere somewhere i fixed it, this is done at ur own risk, im nt responsible. unplug the charger from the wall, still plugged into fone(this is to empty charger of any charge thats there) thn unplug fone and dip the end of the lead in water(yes sounds weird i no...) then make sure theres nt an excess on the end and plug into wizard adn thn the wall, should be red light and then after a few mins orange - charging hope it works
hehe
just letting everyone know it's now working again
didn't need to do any water dipping.
just plugged in brother's 5v 1000ma charger and it's now charging
OMG !! Good Goooooooshhhh

hi
hope ur serious about ur method, well sry to say....... never heard of such a method before, I'm not making any fun of u or plz don't take me wrong , I don't mean any harm.
I just can't believe it cud happen like that, after all water dip will certainly short circuit and burn it.
well, just for my knowledge, have u ever tried this urself ?

I thought exactly the same when i read it first, but since my phone wasnt turning on, gave it a go and it worked! As i say sounds odd but apparently its somthing to do with the circuits controlling the charge, if theres not enough power then obviously they wont work, so this way does...sounds odd but works! I just had a quick search and cant find the original thread, it was an alternative to the 9 volt battery solution

well than I must say u got a brave heart,If had that choice ,i wud have thought 10 times and still said No
As u said that u had gone for it and did and were successful,do believe u now. In that case its very valuable information thanks
So your saying to dip the end of the charger plug into water?? It sounds like really all you would be doing is cleaning off the terminals of dust or debris that could be impeding a connection of some sort.

[Q] No sign of life at all

I have HD2, had an android installed, everything was working perfectly until I've bought a cheap chinese recharger, at first android started to lag, tried to restart the phone and it cound't get past HTC logo after MALGR screen, I couldn't even get into multicolor screen to do a hard reset, simply VOL DOWN and POWER buttons didn't do nothing(in MALGR vol DOWN AND UP were working perfectly) and now it doesn't even boot at all...have no sign of life.
Does it mean my phone is bricked or maybe there is a chance it's a battery.
I'd start all over, HardSPL, rooting, reflashing, EVERYTHING (Maybe Task29? Never tried it before but its supposed to help) - I'm not a dev myself, but thats the first thing i would try to do - sorry I cant tell you what exactly is going wrong - maybe start by charging via USB afterwards
Could be a duff charger. Do you have a usb lead? You could try charging of the PC to see if you can get some line in it!
is the charger just a mains battery charger or usb ?,
only ask as i had to get just a battery charger from ebay as my usb on my phone has broke so i couldnt charge it via usb lead, so i bought 2 mains battery chargers and 2 extra batterys ,
it sounds like its just a dead battery, buy a new one from ebay as they are cheap enough, and hopefully that should work .
First thanxx for responding, guys!
I was "bending" and "torturing" the phone and the battery for a whole day and a half night, and realized that all I have is a bad luck - literally.
But at least it's not bricked, but it's pretty normal, because I did nothing to trigger that.
It's definitely a battery that was completely dead, so I just cut some old charger and charged it with my fingers holding wires against that little metal rectangles..
but that wasn't the end of my troubles..
now the pc just doesn't recognize the phone most of the times in the HSPL bootloader(sometimes it does, but still it won't flash or do anything), I have this active sync installed..
later I'll try at my friends place..
It's almost two years I have my HD2, so probably its life sources are just finished, but I won't give up until I'll try everything..
I'll let you know the results
Finally after a lot of efforts it's reanimated!
Gotta drink some bourbon for that! Cheers everyone!

Charging Issue Redmi 3s prime

My brother's xiaomi won't charge. The phone is off with zero battery. When I try to charge it (with original as well as other 4 usb cables and try to swap everything) it shows charging with led indicator on. But after about 30-60 seconds, the phone is off and followed by the led and it is not charging anymore even until we unplug it two days later. Same thing happen again and again when I try to unplug and plug it back. The battery is stuck at 0. Connecting to pc via usb also doesn't help. What is possibly wrong with his phone? He has had this problem since last month. Any kind of help would be appreciated.
Well same problem happened with me uesterday
if it is still in warranty go to service centre for help they will do it in a matter of days(1-2)
If it is not and you like experiments then try to open the back cover and replug your battery cable present inside(not preferred)
Pm me if you want to know something else

Xiaomi Mi 9t completely dead(?)

Last night I've put my Mi 9t to charge and went to sleep. When I woke up, the phone was turned off.
I've tried to restart it and also pressed the volume + power button combinations to force the recovery mode - unsuccessfully.
No blinking lights, no MIUI entry, no vibration, zero response from the phone. (Is it bricked?)
I've started to research and since my computer can't find the Mi 9t (running Windows 10) the only solution seems that to disassemble it and do the EDL Mode Test Point, to acess the recovery mode and try to flash the phone.
Do you have other sugestions to try?

This is weird. Maybe it's not charged? Did you try another charger and/or cable? How can the phone get bricked overnight by doing nothing? Never heard of it.

I've tried today during all day with a different charger, no response.
It's the first time a thing like this happened to me as well. I've never flashed it before or did any major modifications. I was running MIUI 11 still.
If the battery runned out how can I revive it?
On another forum a user told me it could be the integrated circuit broken or a battery problem.

Then I really don't know. Like I've said, never encountered this before. You could try going to a repair service.
you could open backcover and charge battery directly to see if thats usb problem
You can make an EDL cable. is very easy to do and you have a lot of videos and pictures about it.
Dont worry if you have to open the phone is really really easy. With a hot air gun or a hair dryer you can do it in 2 minutes. You are going to need also a piece of radiography to separate the cover
Then the test point is really easy to do it, check some pictures in google, also you can check the usb port if it is damaged or not once the phone is opened, but of course if the phone stoped working from day to night is weird a usb faulty port
Pls don't open anything or try an trick. Just take it to a repair service so u don't make things worse
I've tried the test point and didn't work, as well
So I took it to a repair shop that accepts xiaomi. They are going to order a new battery and a battery connector (2-3 Weeks).
I'll post when I'll get more updates.
I had a lg g3 that did the same thing. Charged it over night and it didn't work the next morning, could be power surge. Ever since then I never charge my phone over night
So, I've picked it from the repair shop and they couldn't fix it. They changed the battery, the battery connector and the display. They said they don't have a solution for the phone.
My next step is to contact gearbest to see if they have a solution for me.
