For some reason on the S7 Edge, when I renable Bluetooth after switching my device into Ultra power save mode, my phone won't re connect to the Bluetooth device I was using unless I turn the Bluetooth device off and restart it. I've tried this with multiple Bluetooth devices so I'm guessing it's a glitch in the system. Can't even connect if I go to the Bluetooth menu and click on the device I want it to connect to. Hoping someone can give me some insight on a way to fix this or where to report this glitch to get it fixed. Thanks in advance.

Anyone-Please try to help me with these issues:
1. When the unit is in STBY (no screen output) and i connect any USB cable the PDA "wakes-up" and if connected to a PC will start doing a Sync, is there anyway to stop the "wake-up" when connecting a USB cable (-or installing Mini-SD card).......all i want to do is charge the unit while it's in STBY mode. In my old Mio 168RS this could be done in Settings. Maybe someone has a small application that can do this?
2. Sometimes when i innitiate Active Sync i get this Error "To Sync this device you must install ActiveSync 4.0 or higher on your Desktop computer"....but actually i'm running ActiveSync 4.5 already on my PC!!??
Then i need to remove the ActiveSync from my PC and re-install it again until the next time.
Not in stb mode you can switch off the 3600 it still charging etc. only it is off
I don't know if this could help because I never tried it. However, I tried to disable the usb connection from Active Sync for other purposes. In Active Sync program, you can actuallly choose to turn off the usb detection (which can be turned back on anytime). That way, Active Sync will not automatically update your device, hence, turning your device on. In that case, you can just plug in your device for charging purpose.
Thanks for your inputs but this is not what i'm looking for.
In my old Mio168RS there was the possibility in "Settings" that the unit did not come out of STBY mode when connecting to a USB input or when inserting an external SD card.
By the way turning the unit "OFF" will also turn off the phone!!
One additional question that someone might be able to help is if there any way to increase the Speaker Phone volume above and beyond what can be done within the settings.???
Anyone able to get wifi tethering to work? What about bluetooth? Neither works for me, while USB tethering seems to work.
For wifi: the client connects, it's able to send a couple of pings and then that's it, no packets pass anymore (the wifi connection is still good)
For bluetooth: the computer running Win8 pairs to the N4 but then disconnects quickly and the N4 device shows as "offline" on the computer. This might be a bluetooth compatibility issue between the N4, the bluetooth chip in the computer and/or the Win8 bluetooth stack.
In the end, not a huge deal, I'd tether over USB anyway with the added advantage of the phone charging at the same time, but just curious if the other 2 options work for others.
Did you get it working? I am having the same issue.

Didn't bother with it, USB tethering is good enough for me. There's an app if your device is rooted, maybe try that for wifi tethering:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.googlecode.android.wifi.tether
Read the documentation for it though, you may need to make configuration changes from the defaults.
Is there any way to get this phone to automatically connect as a media device when I plug it into a PC?
Also, is there an app or mod that can turn off my PIN lock when connected to trusted wifi networks or bluetooth devices?
I know there's bluetooth and wifi unlocker but it's not compatible with the note 3 as far as I know.
I know tasker can probably do it, but I just can't wrap my head around that app. None of the profiles/settings I make ever do anything.
I''m trying to get mirrorlink to connect, but it never seems to work. The radio isn't detecting it.
The radio unit I have is an aftermarket and it says it requires USB Debugging to be on, however this seems to be interfering with mirrorlink. I say this because whenever I have USB debugging turned on, and I try to enable mirrorlink from the settings, it resets the connection. And whenever I have USB debugging off, the radio unit does not detect the phone. I can only guess that this is happening because mirrorlink is trying to establish a "new" usb connection, and since usb debugging is connected, the usb is already in use and would have to kill the initial connection to have a new one. I don't know if it's the way Samsung has it set up, but that's my guess.
Does anyone have a fix or any information regarding this (mirrorlink on S10+)?
I'm trying to look into the source files, however I am not quite advanced in android dev and that will take a while. If anyone has any ideas or fixes, I'll gladly try them.
Hello.
I've got my mother's Samsung A20. And i need to recover data, but the screen doesn't work.
When power button is pressed, display flashes the lock screen (wallpaper, current time and so on). And then it turns black (backlight stays on for 30 seconds, and then turns off). Pressing the button doesn't guarantee flashing the display, sometimes it goes black immediately. Touch screen gives no input as far as i know (can't hear anything when trying to type pin). Problem still occurs during and after reboots.
I managed to connect a mouse and keyboard with USB OTG, and i was able to unlock. But the phone has no MHL support, so i can't get any image through USB. I'd try pressing the power button repeatedly to get some image and inch my way through the interface, but the lockscreen interferes.
The USB port is set to Charging Only mode, so i can't copy files to my computer. USB Debugging is disabled, bootloader is locked.
Does anybody have a clue, how to get image? Some way to get data? Maybe some keyboard shortcuts, so i can disable lockscreen and make my way easier? And maybe disable 20 alarms in the morning?

I like to be helpful so I'll try to give you some suggestions but I hope others pitch in who know far more than I do.
I never use the USB cable anymore to operate my phone from my PC (but my screen isn't broken so your situation will be much harder).
I connect to my phone from Windows over Wi-Fi without USB all the time, and I can unlock my screen from the PC, and I can mount my entire Android device as a drive letter on Windows over Wi-Fi, etc., so "maybe" (just maybe though), you can consider using either a WebDav server on Android to access your files and/or adb to bring up and manipulate activities on Android....

However, I don't know if adb will work for you if you can't turn on USB debugging in the first place... but as of Android 12, adb now works completely over Wi-Fi (see screenshots below) without needing the USB cable to establish the initial connection like it used to be prior to Android 12.

If the screen problem is "just" hardware and not software, and if you can turn on Wireless Debugging, you might be able to display your phone over scrcpy or vysor (both of which use adb over Wi-Fi) as shown in the screenshots below on my phone - which never needs the USB cable connection.
Hope this helps, but you seem to need folks who know more than I do as adb/vysor/scrcpy all work for me because I can set up USB Debugging & Wireless Debugging as shown below.
Note that you might have an FTP server or a WebDav Server on your Android phone, and if you do, you might be able to at least transfer important files since they each can mount your entire Android phone as a drive letter on Windows over Wi-Fi (without needing the USB cable).

A20 can have only Android 9, 10 or 11, but thanks for ideas anyway.
I didn't even know adb can work over WiFi, I'll look into it. Hopefully this version can do it too.
Now trying blindly to turn on the screen reader…

Ooops. My bad. I apologize. You'll need the USB cable in Android 11 for a moment to establish the connection first. Then you can switch over to Wi-Fi after that (or you can stay on USB).

I feel for you. I really do. It hurts me when people can't access their phone remotely to get their data back. I am searching all over the XDA site for a solution for you, where I just moments ago opened this thread to help (I'm still searching for you though).
What is the best XDA solution to control Android on the PC & recover data over Wi-Fi when the user suddenly has an unresponsive broken screen?
