Hi guys. The screen on my X suddenly stopped working and is always black. The phone still works, but I cant see anything.
After many, many, many tries, I was able to get the screen mirrored to my TV, but the screen resolution is way off and/or it is really zoomed in. (see attached photo) I probably changed a setting while I was blindly trying to cast the screen to my TV.
I've casted the screen to the TV many times without any problem (before my phone screen died), so I dont think it's an issue with the TV or Chromecast, but I don't want to rule anything out. I don't want to disconnect and reconnect the phone from the TV/Chromecast because I may not be able to reconnect.
Any ideas as to how to fix this? Thanks.

Hello all,
I have HTC Tytn for 4 months now and have no complaints so far, but lately I'm facing some strange screen problems. Once a while a screen becomes dim or totaly white, and when I turn off the device and turn it on again it stays white. After some repetitions of this procedure it becomes normal again. Even if I make a soft reset of the device, it stays white sometime.
I attached two photos to show you a screen, which is corrupted (screen_02_s.jpg), and the normal one (screen_03_s.jpg).
When this problem occur, the device works OK: I can do a phone calls, listen to music, ... Another thing is, that when I use a Pocket Controller Application, which is used to display mobile device screen on the desktop, I can see the normal screen on my desktop PC, even though the screen on the mobile device is white.
I've read a lot about screen alignment issues and I don't have any such problems, which are reported in the forums.
If you have any ideas how to solve this problem, please help.
its seems the LCD is faulty (hardware problem), I would claim a warranty replacement. I dont beleive software will cause such a problem.
By the way, how was the basketball game on Wednesday?
My Atrix's screen randomly stopped displaying anything. You can see that the backlight turns on and off but nothing ever displays. The screen isn't physically damaged and the touch sensor is also functioning just fine. If I plug it into my Lapdock - I can use the phone with no issues, I'll just never get any sort of display on the cellphone's screen (Outputs to Lapdock's screen just fine).
Any ideas or suggestions?
are you able to adjust screen settings when you're on lapdock? (and does this change anything?)
It does sound a hardware issue with your screen... maybe others on here can offer more help
Just tried playing around with the settings - no luck
Do you think maybe the display cable somehow disconnected? I'm not sure how the Atrix is designed but I think you'd normally have a separate cable for backlight, touch, and display. Maybe I'll try disassembling it and report back.
I am curious i have a hp extreme slate 7, I plugged in the hdmi cable to watch movies on my tv and it works flawlessly however i am wondering if there is a way to shut off the tablet screen playing video while watching a movie on the tv? I thought it would be a good idea if it could do that but upon thinking about it more I dont think that it will because you have to shut down the touch screen. Please let me know if there is anything already on this subject or ideas. I have a usb keyboard and gamepads to actually navigate the websites and stuff if the screen is off just havent found anything on it yet. Thank You
There's an app called second screen which has an option to turn the backlight off, the touchscreen still works but it's a lot less distracting.
so I dropped my s6e+ twice in two days... both on the road...
Because of these stupid new trousers I bought and their stupid pockets....
First time smashed the back (lucky)
The second time fell flat on its face and cracked the screen (edge panels) and now the screen just blinks all different colours.
The phone still works e.g I can hear notifications and I can unlock the fingerprint sensor.
I'm trying to get sidesync working as it effectively mirrors your devices screen and even allows you to make calls etc which would be great.
I have previously set this up and have it installed on my pc and s6e+ but it doesn't seem to be connecting. I have also researched installing airdroid (remotely via play store) then trying to launch it wirelessly with adb (as my usb port is also broken) but it doesn't seem to be an option without the USB.
Anyone have any ideas?
My I dropped my S7 edge and cracked the screen so that half of the screen kind of works but the touch does not work. I can see the lockscreen but if I connect a mouse I see a pointer for a fraction of a section then the screen goes dark. Maybe the lockscreen disables it.
But what are the best way to install some app on it to be able to remotley control it from a computer without using the touch?
If I get control of the phone can I use a chromecast to cast the screen to an external screen or are there any other aletrnatives as I read that there are none MHL support any longer.
And what could you use it for ? maybee some sort of Tasker "server",
crappy game console if you could cast the screen to a chromecast connected tv and add a bluetooth controller.?
What other scenarios could you use it for?
I know this is old but I'm at this part with a Samsung Galaxy s7 I have. The screens on these phones just are to fragile. I didn't even drop it and the back got so hot the glass broke on the back with not dropping it. Then next thing I know it the screen and lcd are all gone crazy on the front. I already Samsung backed up.
I'm wondering if there is a way to use ABD to push a set up so that I can use the phone connected to the chromecast or something where I can see it on my smart TV. So I guess is there an app to upload adb and a certain way to allow the Bluetooth keyboard to connect to take control. This is a really interesting way to find ways to have fun... Just thought it would be worth figuring out so people who are stuck with broken screens can maybe use the android as a backup drive on the computer ext...
I know that anything is possible. I don't really like to say that there is no way because there is a way to do anything if we put are minds to it. . But I don't know enough about it to making calls like that. I hope someone can at least figure out so we can use Bluetooth and wireless to get a working screen on the device in its altered state.
