Hey guys,
Does anyone know what OpenGApps variant gets closest to the ones that the stock Moto G4 comes with?
I updated my G4 from android 6 to 7 and even though it rocks solid, I'm going to change to LinageOS due to low RAM (every app seems to start over each time I open it). I'm trying to get as closest I can get to the stock experience.
Even though Moto makes some of the best android modifications, they are rather slow in updating and fixing stuff
Thank you in advance!

Wondering if we will be getting official or rom with Android N. Really hoping for true pure on Android n
Due to delay of 6.0.1, it looks android N is really under works for Moto X Style.
We surely will get Official Android N update once new nexus is launched just like we got marshmallow. However it is possible that we may get N earlier if some developer creates custom ROM.
This is up to Lenovo/Motorola. While it would be nice, I haven't seen anything promising we will get it.

This is what I am hoping is going on. Much rather have N than 6.0.1. Also, as new as the Moto X Pure is, I am not too worried about us getting it or not, mostly just a matter of when...
Lenovo/Moto has been slow with patches, but they were quick with MM.
I am a moto g(2013) user and I found out that the development of moto g4/g4 plus, compare to the previous models,is extremely slow or even no significant progree at all.I wonder if it is the unpopularity of this device,or the difficulty in developing this devices from scratch. This bother me so much that I consider buying the moto g 2015 rather than this
Me too.. All moto g series phone are booting 7.0 but we are still way behind..
in my experience all of the moto series of devices have slower development. the G4 isn't a very popular phone for most devs, its a budget device. personally stock, rooted, elementalx and substratum are perfect for me right now. we should have android 7.0 by the holidays.
Why don't you develop some stuff instead? That way, we will have more things to flash.

are substratum themes fully compatible? can i fully theme notifcation bar etc using substratum?
You want faster development? Buy an extra G4Plus and send it as a gift to a developer. I know a couple that took the task of developing CM13 for various phones because they got the devices free.
Hello, going to be exchanging my Note 4 (910s) for a Moto X play- due to the lack of AOSP roms for 910s. I primarily love stock android and just want to be able to install future releases of android and such.. Are there any issues with the Moto XPlay? So far I've read that it has a heating issue..
LineageOS 14.1 is working well (no heating issue). But Oreo is not ready, and it's not sure it will be actively developed for the Moto X Play.
Except if you have a really good price, I don't see why you would replace your Note 4 (2015) for X Play (2015).
If you really wanna have latest AOSP, you must find a more recent phone. I guess OnePlus or LG are quite popular for that.
Hello everyone, I have a small problem i was hoping to maybe get some help with. I recently bought a Moto G5 Plus (Motorola factory edition) and started trying out some of the awesome roms that here with the hopes of geeking out on some kick-a$$ daydream games (after doing the build prop editing of course) and it turns out half of the daydream apps wont play on Nougat. Bummer right?! So i upgraded to Oreo and viola! they work GREAT!! ..... except for one smalll hiccup. I'm on my 4th 8.1 custom rom now (they all rock btw) and before i can get past the loading screen on any daydream game or app, my moto flashes an overheat warning and shuts daydream down. My question is, is there an app out there that spoofs internal thermometer or is that even the problem? Is this maybe an issue i can rectify by further root code editing? Has nobody else had this issue and if that is the case why do i always get crappy broke one?!?!?!?! I usually just read through these forums until i find the answer on my own and i really hate to bother anyone who would otherwise be rockin the sh*t outta some new software for all of us to enjoy but i cant really seem to find anything addressing this one. Thank you in advance,

Hey All,
Looking at picking up one of these phones certified refurbished from Amazon for about $170. I'm wondering what version of Android I can expect OR get automatically updated to when I set the phone up?
I really want (need) some of the features in Nougat, but want to make sure it'll get there without me having to relive my youth as a rom chasing nerd (which I loved but am too old to do these days lol).
Any other advice around this phone (or other similar "cheap" deals) people have will be appreciated.
Thanks much!
I wouldn't recommend getting a 6P due to the infamous bootloop issue caused by the Snapdragon 810 processor and the early shutdown issue caused by the battery. Also, it only has about 5 months of support from Google left. After that there will be no more security patches, official updates to Android 9.0, etc.
To answer your question: the 6P will probably come with Marshmallow or Nougat and is upgradable to Oreo.
I'd recommend getting a Google Pixel or Pixel XL. It will come with a least Nougat and is upgradable to Oreo. If you MUST have a Nexus device, the refurbished Nexus 6 my dad got from Amazon recently is pretty good. It came with Nougat installed, but that's the newest version of Android officially available for it.
Thanks for the tips man, I appreciate the advice!
